Re: Twat Tuesday 5/23

  • DD who decided to have a no sleep party for three hours last night from 2:00-5:00am. So now she's still asleep and I'm awake lacking three hours that I normally have. She better take a nap this afternoon because I need one too.

  • @bumpybump ugh, I feel you. We put DS in his big boy bed last night. He slept there for 2 hours and woke up screaming. DH got him and brought him in our room. He wanted me and took ages to fall back asleep. And it wasn't enough that he was smashed up against me, he wanted both my arms wrapped around him,a 32 pound toddler on my arm is not conducive to a good night's sleep. I think he's getting sick because his nose was all stuffy and he was snoring. He was also talking in his sleep. DS was snoring. I barely slept.
  • @SouthernMama15 the bed transition can be rough. DD did amazingly well her first week in her big girl bed and then regressed. She'll have been in hers for a year in August but still likes to sleep elsewhere at times.

  • @bumpybump I've been telling DH we needed to start this transition for months. He loves for DS to sleep with us, but I'm trying to make him understand that he can't sleep with us after I have a c section because if he kicks me in the incision it could rip or hurt me.
  • Woman this morning who just decided to help herself to my space at school (because I move about from school to school daily I have a "shared" space, but my scheduled time for the last two years has been Monday and Tuesday 8am-10:30am.) I walked away for 5 minutes to go collect all my children from downstairs for our session and the kids are like there's somebody in our room! I was like what?! Sure enough this heifer had herself and some 8th graders settled in when my stuff was so obviously there for the morning! She's like we're doing 8th grade testing and this is a shared space. Okay? Your point? This is my SCHEDULED time to use this space. I have 6 children and ALL of my supplies HERE in MY SCHEDULED space. I was FURIOUS! I couldn't even form words. I grabbed worksheets, pencils and my bag and left without any clue where I was taking all these kids. She kept repeating "thank you" in a snarky tone. You're not welcome!!! We ended up in the noisy cafeteria (Prek was still downstairs eating breakfast. mind you I had a group of 2 very immature first graders and 3 second graders so it wasn't an ideal work space) AND it was HOT! I didn't have my white board to thoroughly model the activity and my kiddos didn't have all their materials. Then the same heifer walks past me about 15 minutes later. SERIOUSLY?! You couldn't have found somewhere else for your 15/20 minutes of testing?! It sort of put me in a real irritable mood now all morning...

@cmmiller531 that lady had some nerve! I'm so sorry.
  • @cmmiller531 teachers can be so annoying during testing. The fight for space is horrible, and I dont think Ive ever seen such immaturity then when a teacher steals space and claims it for testing.  Oh the stories I could tell!

  • @littlebug2010 she's not even a teacher.. she's some kind of aide. I'm pretty sure the same one who last year was shushing my class because we were discussing a book while she was using the area across from us to test. GO SOMEWHERE ELSE!!!
  • @SouthernMama15 um, yeah, no csection incision kicking for sure! Maybe have DH go sleep with DS somewhere else if he loves it so much?

  • @cmmiller531 OMG thats the worst! I totally understand the need for aids, but wow I have never met one that I liked (sorry if any of you have or are aids!).  I have dealt with some crazy aids, again I have so many stories! Sorry you have to deal with that! Hopefully your year is coming to a close relatively soon!

The ignoramus who blew up my vein TWICE during my 3 hour GD test yesterday is the twat this week.
  • The school psych who doesn't realize that we need consent ASAP so I can test kids because I still have a full caseload of other children to see on top of this testing. I love the end of the year!!!!!!

  • I'm a twat this week. I stupidly refused service to my breaks last summer thinking I would turn in my lease without having to pay for them to be repaired. Well $600 and two new break pads and rotors later I am seriously pissed at myself for not letting Jiffy Lube replace the stupid break pads in the first place. Ugh, I'm so dumb!

  • @bumpybump yeah, he says he'll sleep in DSs bed with him, so I hope DS will do that if necessary. I think he senses a change coming and is a major mama's boy right now. I'm also praying tubes make a difference in clinginess.

I got into work this am and my junior was taking the day off (his like 10000th in the past year) and all his processes had imploded, which I spent all day debugging and didn't get anything else done today. I would say he is the twat, but I'm more grumpy in general with the male dominated financial industry that makes me feel like I need to work twice as hard as my male peers to make up for the fact that I am going to have my third baby/leave. Maybe I'm the twat though for even giving a hooping funt (Blossom reference, anybody??? I'm old...)

I've never even considered the fact that older kids could hurt a c-section incision. I would be screwed!

    Good luck with him @SouthernMama15

Random c-section related, but my 5 year old asked if she was cut out of me and I said no, same with her sister, and she goes "well, I think they are going to cut this one out of you." Okay creepy kid, you have sufficiently reminded your mother that there are no plans/expectations for what might happen in delivery. I will be bringing incision comfy clothes just in case!

The kids I chaperoned on my son's field trip today...and maybe their parents...because I don't know how else they could have turned out that way without a complete lack of parenting.

...I just do not and will not ever understand the blatant disrespect these kids show toward every adult they encounter. I told my son MULTIPLE times today if I ever saw him speak to any adult the way these kids spoke to the adults today, I would unashamedly take away every privilege he has ever been given.

My OB is a test today. He said he doesn't give me my DTap shot: I have to go to my primary care Dr and get it. Yay, I get to schedule yet another doctor appointment and take time off from work! Whoot!
  • @SouthernMama15,

Sounds like my husband has a twin out there. Same situation with sleep and DS in bed.

  • @AdvoCyndi30 thank you!
This will be my first, but I have a niece I watch frequently and younger cousins, etc. The way some kids behave, I am amazed. Where did manners and respect and all of that go? If I behaved this way as a kid, my parents would have never let me see the light of day!

  • The bump app is my TW this week. It keeps logging me out, not letting me love it (says I need to enable JavaScript when it is enabled on my phone), and not fully loading the threads so I'll get like maybe 2 replies to an original thread to load then it will just stop and I'll have to go back and then reclick the thread to get more to load and often having to do it several times before it will load the whole thread.

  • I know it is Thursday- but everything is a twat! My DH has decided he hates his new job and is already looking for another new one, which b/c he is commission based means he is making like nothing right now since he is focusing on job hunting. So we have to postpone buying the nursery furniture we were going to get this wknd so i cant set it up or have any chance of it being cute and done when she gets here.

My office is expanding my team and me and my sales counterpart just learned the people they are hiring (one in my position, one in hers) both of whom were recommendations from us to begin with- are being offered higher pay than we currently make-Not cool. Not to mention I learned the sales side makes WAY more than me-I am in client management. I knew they made more esp. in commission, but not way more.

The kicker-last night our daycare which we went on the waitlist for in March-and said they would have a spot, no problem. Just emailed everyone on their lists to say they actually won't have any newborn spots until 2018. WTF?! It's not like we are going to get in anywhere else this far in the game.

So everything is a twat, I am trying to hold my shit together and I just want to curl into a ball and cry-but I am at work making the only money right now that is apparently less than I should be making anyway. Might explain why I have been up since like 3am.

    sorry for the rant, thanks.

  • DH's coworker is a twat. Earlier this week I mentioned he was interviewing for a promotion. The interview is today. However, he sits near the office of the hiring manager and was scouting who was getting interviewed yesterday. The biggest brown-nosing bitch in the office had an interview. It really took the wind out of his sails as he's all but convinced himself he's not going to get it now. Even his boss, upon also seeing brown-nose bitch in that interview, was like, "Oh man, I'm sorry."
The problem with this coworker is that everyone at her level and below hates her. Everyone above her loves her. She spends more time sucking up to the directors, it seems, than producing any work, yet she gets high performance ratings according to the office gossip.
So I firmly told DH last night to get over it, stop putting himself down and comparing himself to her, and to get in that interview and dazzle them. Strategize all the strengths he has that makes him both productive and likable. He knows the hiring manager likes him and the other director in the interview loves him; I hope that wins out over someone whose best skill is fake-ass brown-nosing.
    Fucking office politics.

@smallbutmighty77 I'm so sorry! If I'm remembering correctly, are you from Chicago? I am originally from there and still have friends and family who could suggest daycares.
  • thanks all, it has not been my week/day. Just trying to hold it together and plan what I can. @tova24 I am in Chicago, we have a pretty good list of daycares, just at this point a lot of them have waitlists going into 2018. It's just one of those things I thought we had checked off, and it was on the way to the train for me to go to work, our upstairs neighbors 15mo goes there so we could get each others kids in emergency- just it took a lot out of me to get that email last night.

@smallbutmighty77 -  Ugh that's a lot for one day. Could you find another day care for the first few months and then switch to that one? I had mentioned this somewhere else a few weeks ago, but a lot of daycares in our area won't even let us take a tour and inquire about availability until after our baby is born - but some will fill up before then. I'm thinking of putting the baby in a spot with an expensive one we like with the intention of moving to a cheaper one if we find another we like later on.

  • Joining late but I'm gonna call it Twatwaffle Thursday. The guy who parked less than a foot from my car when I picked DS up from school. There was no way I was able to get in. Luckily he parked sideways so I could at least sit in the back to wait for him to come out. As I was sitting there, I noticed the whole side was dented and had yellow painted scraped onto it. I cannot stand people that cannot park.
