Upcoming appointments this week? Tuesday now that I'm on 2 week appointments
Any new symptoms or changes? Hip pain some mornings when I wake up. Still fatigued by lunch or around 3:00pm. Really wish DD would nap again.
Rants/Raves/Questions? We are headed to our annual zoo and children's museum trip next week and I'm really wondering how I'm going to survive all day at the zoo (it's big). I get tired an hour after being ours here.
GTKY: What kind of "adrenaline rush" do you enjoy? Or what do you considered "thrilling?" I LOVE roller coasters. I grew up going to Cedar Point yearly. DH and I went last summer while visiting family. I wish we lived closer so we could go yearly. I've yet to be at another park that lives up to Cedar Point.
***TW in Siggy*** Me: 34 / DH: 33 Married: Nov 2011 TTC #1: Jan 2013, BFP Sept 2013, DD: June 2014 TTC #2: Aug 2016, BFP Nov 2016, DS: August 2017
How far along are you? 30 weeks. Three quarters down, one to go!
How big is baby? Zucchini.
Upcoming appointments this week? Nope, not for a few more weeks.
Any new symptoms or changes? I'm finally, unfortunately, joining the back pain club.
Rants/Raves/Questions? Normal sitting and standing isn't an issue. Basically every other kind of movement, from getting comfortable on the couch to getting in and out of a car, takes effort and some grunts on my part. DH had the gall to call my grunts "kind of annoying." Don't start with me man.
GTKY: What kind of "adrenaline rush" do you enjoy? Or what do you considered "thrilling?" I'm not an adrenaline junky at all. I find riding my bike at a fast pace to be thrilling. Running in races with crowds encouraging everyone is thrilling. Rollercoasters are thrilling. Just about anything else more adventurous is scary.
Upcoming appointments this week? June 6 for a growth check u/s and the start of two weekers
Any new symptoms or changes? Heartburn is back, it had faded for the past month. Feet are starting to swell but I feel ok with it because I expected it wayyy earlier.
Rants/Raves/Questions? My dog killed a pigeon last night....awesome because they're awful, gross because DH won't be home until 3 so I had to clean it up this morning (AZ heat would not do well to let it sit)
GTKY: What kind of "adrenaline rush" do you enjoy? Or what do you considered "thrilling?" I love roller coasters, Phoenix is a bit shy on anything worthwhile, but CA parks aren't too far to go enjoy. I've been hang gliding and that was AMAZING, friends that have done both said it's cooler than skydiving, but skydiving is still in the bucket list. Also did a lot of cliff diving in college into rivers in the UP and Lake Superior.
@caity024 wow, cliff diving. I see that on TV all the time and it looks really fun, but I have a crippling fear that I wouldn't jump far enough from the edge, or would be that person who hits some random rock hidden in the water and dies. I did go up a mountain overlook once and spent time watching the hang gliders run off the ledge and float into the valley. It looks amazing but I'm too wimpy!!
@DeansGirl14, it definitely came with risks - one time at Dead River, our friend faced us, jumped backwards, and dove - which means all his momentum went back towards the cliff. Had he not dove with his hands above his head, doctors said it would've killed him. He needed an actual hole in his head glued shut, multiple staples and stitches in his head and arms. We did much less actual diving after that....more feet first jumping. It was invigorating and a magnificent way to quickly collapse a hangover
@caity024 there's a small coaster park in Phoenix right? Or is it closer to Prescott? I grew up in Tucson, so I know your pain and it was like going to Disneyland as a kid when our parents drove us up there.
Upcoming appointments this week? next one is Tuesday
Any new symptoms or changes? I have been feeling decreased movement, but last time his happened, Baby B had just moved down a little so her kicks weren't as distinguishable. I'm anxious for my next appointment though.
Rants/Raves/Questions? I can't get up from a sitting position easily any more and getting into my car is a struggle. DH has to help pull me up when he's home. It's way too early for this, I really have no idea how I'm going to survive these last weeks.
GTKY: What kind of "adrenaline rush" do you enjoy? Or what do you considered "thrilling?" I love roller coasters, but my favorite adrenaline rush was ziplining in Costa Rica 400 feet high.
How far along are you? 28 weeks, hello 3rd trimester
How big is baby? An eggplant or a coconut..
Upcoming appointments this week? My two week visits start, next appt will be June 5th!
Any new symptoms or changes? Definitely getting bigger! I'm still in my regular pants, praying I can stay in them! I'm mixed with maternity tops and oversized shirts...
Rants/Raves/Questions? Sleeping on my left side is getting annoying. My left arm is feeling numb, the pregnancy pillow only helps so much! Also, I need to start my maternity transition plan, don't want to do it...
GTKY: What kind of "adrenaline rush" do you enjoy? Or what do you considered "thrilling?" I am not an adrenaline junkie. I like safe places. The rush or thrill would be something I watch on TV. My husband's the opposite, he's all about a thrill, he snowboards, bikes, hikes, etc.
Any new symptoms or changes? My hips are dislocating less as I've pulled back on my activity levels a lot. Baby is breech and kicking on my cervix a lot, which adds to the hip/pelvic pain. But baby seems to be a little more mellow now that I'm more mellow/less active.
Rants/Raves/Questions? My husband and I are first time parents and now that we're pretty much settled on a name it seems like my husband sees everything as more "real". It feels hella real to me as a tiny human being is kicking and bruising my cervix, but it's cool that he's catching up to the reality in his own way/time.
GTKY: What kind of "adrenaline rush" do you enjoy? Or what do you considered "thrilling?" I'm mostly a homebody and love my comfort zone, but I'll do any roller coaster ride and enjoy a good whitewater rafting trip. The most thrilling whitewater rafting trip I've done was at night, during a full moon. I'd love to go hot air ballooning, but I'm not one to bungee jump out of it!
Heartburn city! Also I have general aches and pains and it's getting nearly impossible to bend over to get something I've dropped.
Rants/Raves/Questions?
I'm so excited to do our family vacation next week but worried at the same time. It's a 15 hour drive and we are going to a Legoland. I know I'm going to have to stop every 2-3 hours to move around and I'm afraid I'm going to be miserable walking around the park.
GTKY: What kind of "adrenaline rush" do you enjoy? Or what do you considered "thrilling?"
A good deal gets my adrenaline going. I love finding something on super clearance or buying 2nd hand for cheap!
@taylormarie923 I totally forgot about our zip lining in Thailand.
Another adrenaline rush I like is playing paintball. Of course I can't do any of this stuff pregnant.
Where we went, we were supposed to do a catwalk through the rain forest as well, but I ended up upgrading that ticket so I could do the zip lines a second time! It is one of my favorite experiences.
Next week! Had an unplanned one last week at Labor & Delivery. Had a minor scare but we are in the clear now, thank goodness! I haven't had a hospital tour yet, so it was neat to see where we'll be when the day comes. LO set off the alarm at the nurses desk three times because he was moving so much!
Any new symptoms or changes?
Bladder is getting tougher to control... and it doesn't help that it is LOs favorite punching/kicking bag!
Rants/Raves/Questions?
Lately MIL has been getting out of control about trash-talking DH's dad's side of the family (DH's parents divorced 24+ years ago). From what I have heard, FIL was not a great person in the past, but the man I know now is kind, funny, and loves his family to the moon and back. Literally EVERYONE ELSE (including FIL) on both sides have learned to be peaceful with one another when it comes to family gatherings for weddings, baby showers, etc... except her. I understand that divorce is not easy, and it causes a lot of hurt for her when it comes to FIL, but does she really have to bash everyone else on that side of the family when they are actually all very kind and loving people? DH and I are concerned about MIL talking like this in front of LO and confusing him as to why grandma hates grandpa/aunt/uncle/cousin/etc. We decided we have to confront her, but we aren't sure how it is going to turn out. It is likely she will get angry with us and accuse us of choosing sides. Anyone have any experience with situations like this?
GTKY: What kind of "adrenaline rush" do you enjoy? Or what do you consider "thrilling?"
Aside from roller coasters, I also find I get a thrill from playing (or watching DH play) a video game with a really good story. That goes for books too. The right story can really get your adrenaline pumping!
How far along are you? 28 weeks! I can't believe it's already the third trimester!
How big is baby? A head of cauliflower.
Upcoming appointments this week? I just had one today, everything is chugging along. I got my order and orange stuff for the glucose test today. I would have done it today but it said to have a "balanced" meal for lunch. I couldn't resist the macaroni and cheese at Panera, so I'll do it next week.
Any new symptoms or changes? My ankles are now officially cankles. The swelling doesn't go down anymore. They're just these enormous puffs.
Rants/Raves/Questions?
GTKY: What kind of "adrenaline rush" do you enjoy? Or what do you considered "thrilling?" At some point in the last few years, I've decided most things aren't worth the risk. I'm afraid of getting hurt. I worry about not being able to work. And my work can be thrilling enough.
How big is baby? Bowling pin, kale, double gulp soda cup
Upcoming appointments this week? Not until GD screening in 2 weeks
Any new symptoms or changes? Lower back pain, so I'm finally going to the chiro today. Just getting more uncomfortable, but nothing too extreme.
Rants/Raves/Questions? Rave: So happy to have the long weekend with family coming in town for my cousin's high school graduation.
GTKY: What kind of "adrenaline rush" do you enjoy? Or what do you considered "thrilling?" I used to love all of the thrilling things... roller coasters, bungee jumping, parasailing... but the older I get, the less risk I'm willing to take.
