Re: Monday Ticker Change - 5/22

  • 1. How many weeks are you? What size is baby?  8 weeks today!  We have a Raspberry :)

    2. How are you feeling? DEATH!  I know it can be so much worse, but I am such a baby when it comes to feeling pukey.  I will do close to anything to not feel this way

    3. Any appointments this week?  Have a preliminary appointment this Thursday.  I am trying to decide if I want to do an ultrasound or not.  DH thinks I am definitely growing twins...he is crazy!  Also seriously thinking of asking for anti-nausea meds.  Life is rough.

    4. Rants/raves/questions? Trying to power through for my little guy.  He is just the sweetest little boy.  When I got back from my business trip the other day he grabbed my face with both hands and gave me a big kiss!  He sleeps through the night and barely ever fusses.  I want to make sure that I can give him lots of love over the next 7 months, since he is too young to understand another baby coming.

    5. GTKY: What's the last book you read? Well, I don't technically "read" books anymore, but I have a vast audible account.  I am currently listening to Stephen King's "It" and just finished listening to "The Life Changing Magic of Tidying Up".  I get two credits per month and currently have 5 credits to use...suggestions always welcome :)

    3. Any appointments this week? Nope, not until June 14.

    4. Rants/raves/questions? Im pretty certain my 5 year old knows something is up.    He keeps snuggling and telling me Im the best mommy he ever had.

    5. GTKY: What's the last book you read? The Charlotte Mason Companion.

    Hi Ladies,
I'm jumping over from Tuesday ticker changes. Not a huge difference, I know, but I had a dating ultrasound last week (YAY!!!!) and I figured it was early enough that I could make the switch. So, hi :-)

    1. How many weeks are you? What size is baby? 7 weeks today! Blueberry!

    2. How are you feeling? I was not nauseated at all with DD but this babe has been completely different. The nausea is awful. I pretty much feel sick to my stomach all day long and I'm exhausted. Come on 2nd trimester!

    3. Any appointments this week? Nothing this week. I'm at a new practice this time around, so I have a phone consult next week and then my first real appointment is 6/14.

    4. Rants/raves/questions? Nothing I can think of today...except that I still haven't told people but am SO wanting to pull out my maternity clothes....but I feel like that will be a dead giveaway.

    5. GTKY: What's the last book you read? For myself??? Ugh. I can't even remember! I'm a teacher, so summertime is when I get to read for pleasure. Counting down the days!

How many weeks are you? What size is baby?
6 weeks, we have a sweet pea

How are you feeling? overall, pretty good. Still have sore boobs, but the nausea has subsided the last couple days. Been pretty tired in the afternoons.

Rants/raves/questions? The only complaint I have today is about work. It's an absolute mad house todsy. And my DD may have pink eye. So there's that.

GTKY: What's the last book you read? I haven't successfully finished reading a book in a long time. Which sucks bc I love to read!

Edit to Add: Appointments this week -
not this week. June 8th is our first appointment.

    Baby #4 on the way!

  • 1. How many weeks are you? What size is baby?  8 weeks, raspberry

    2. How are you feeling?  Not too hot, constantly nauseous, with intermittent bathroom issues. Let's not forget about the exhaustion

    3. Any appointments this week?  Yes!! Friday is the 1st appointment

    4. Rants/raves/questions? None atm

    5. GTKY: What's the last book you read? The latest Bloodlines book from Rachelle Mead, it's a spin off of the Vampire Academy series.
  • 1. How many weeks are you? What size is baby? 7 weeks - blueberry!

    2. How are you feeling? Up and down. One day completely miserable and next day better. Today is NOT a good day. Had to force myself to get down a piece of toast and trying to eat healthy because I read a bunch of articles on prenatal diet last night (after legit polishing off a carton of peanut butter cup Halo Top). Had no clue that your diet BEFORE conception matters, too.

    3. Any appointments this week? Heading in for my second ultrasound on Thursday. Had one last week and we saw the heartbeat, but my doc thought it would give my PGAL self some reassurance to get a more accurate date after a bit more growth.

    4. Rants/raves/questions?
Rant: We're going to Italy for DH's good friend's wedding. Was super excited until my doctor confirmed that I can not only not have wine and cheese, but no fresh fruit or vegetable because Italy has toxoplasmosis in the soil. WHAT? I am going to subsist purely on pasta. Rave: My OB is wonderful. She said I can come in any day I ever need reassurance and she'll do an US. And for the first trimester, come in as many weeks as it takes to feel confident. After having a previous OB who never remembered a single thing on my chart (name included), I'm extremely grateful to have found her, and to have good health insurance.

    5. GTKY: What's the last book you read? Just finished Three Wishes by Lianne Moriarty (author of Big Little Lies). I like chick lit. I like her books but if you're interested in a reco, I'd probably start with her other titles first (Truly, Madly, Guilty was entertaining).

    @egirl1025 Your DS sounds adorable!

  • Thanks @libbberty he brings complete joy to our family!
  • @egirl1025  Everyone keeps thinking I'm having twins. DH, my mom, my grandma, my co-worker & boss who know. I hope I'm not giving off a twins vibe

    1. How many weeks are you? What size is baby?
8 weeks today! Baby is the size of a raspberry

    2. How are you feeling? Actually felt really great today. Probably the best day I've had all pregnancy. A little upset tummy, but was able to eat and get a TON of unpacking done today. (Yesterday was totally different, we were getting the house together and around 2:30-3pm I couldn't even keep my eyes open I was so exhausted).

    3. Any appointments this week? Yesssss! I have my first office visit and ultrasound on Wednesday, so exciting!!

    4. Rants/raves/questions? Nope!

    5. GTKY: What's the last book you read? I'm in the middle of reading The Handmaid's Tale. A little scary to be reading in the current political climate.

  • 1. How many weeks are you? What size is baby?
    8 weeks, raspberry
    2. How are you feeling?
    Tired and hungry
    3. Any appointments this week?
    No
    4. Rants/raves/questions?
I'm a teacher and it's my last week of work, it needs to hurry. I want summer!
    5. GTKY: What's the last book you read?
I'm reading Louis Erdrich's The Round House, during the school year I read for fun when I can but I've been reading this book since winter break. I can't wait to finish or next week.
  • @libbberty, some studies suggest pre conception diet is even more important, particularly during the 1st tri. The umbilical cord doesn't begin to form until the 5th week of pregnancy/7th week of pregnancy and the placenta isn't fully functional until toward the end of the first tri.

That said, DD2 was a total surprise. I wasn't taking pre natal and I'd say my diet was pretty average, but definitely no where near as healthy as it was pre DD1. I didn't even realize I was pregnant until sometime after 6 or 7 weeks and definitely drank myself through the holidays. (Which is how I learned about the umbilical cord, my OB was trying to calm my nerves.) DD2 is a totally healthy kid. Unless you're pretty deficient you and that baby will be just fine!

  • 1. How many weeks are you? What size is baby? 6 weeks as of Monday. Baby is a sweet pea!

    2. How are you feeling? The fatigue has really ramped up this week and in still having sore boobs. I'm keeping in the lookout for nausea to kick in this week, but so far it's just an occasional (very mild) queasiness. On a scale of one to ten it's probably a two or three. So I can't really complain! I also think the bloating has begun this week.

    3. Any appointments this week? Not until next week! It feels like the longest week of my life but I'm getting closer!

    4. Rants/raves/questions? Rave: After a long day at work, I came home to DH making dinner and today I have the day off! I think I will go get a haircut!

    5. GTKY: What's the last book you read? Well, I'm reading the What To Expect book currently, but non-pregnancy related, it was A Study in Charlotte.
  • @BelhurstBride yes, it's crazy, isn't it? Here I was, just trying to read about how to get my kid to be more likely to eat vegetables, and I suddenly learn about how it affects their mental health, behavior issues/ADHD, etc. I definitely don't want to be a crazy paranoid FTM, but wow...I learned a lot! Hilarious considering my degree is in human development. Glad your DD2 is perfect and healthy! Reassuring on the drinks front, right?
