When did you announce?

I have one healthy 8 year old (from a previous marriage) and prior to this pregnancy I  had two miscarriages with my husband.  We've seen two scans so far (6wk2d and 8wks) that showed healthy  baby with strong heartbeat.  And two days ago we heard a healthy heartbeat (161bpm) at 11 weeks.  My question is, when can we start telling our friends and family?  When did you announce? My doctor said he felt confident about me telling people, but I just want to hear from others as well

    I think I'll feel better about announcing after my 11 week scan next week. I would guess if any early loss were to happen it would before 11 weeks, even thought that's not quite the end of first tri.

    We announced at 11+2, so just a few days shy of my original plan of 12w. We had already had ultrasounds and HB checks to know things were looking good.

    Hey!  Personally, we aren't announcing until we get the genetic tests back, but that's because of our history. 

    There is also a thread called "Announcements".  You might find a lot of info in there about when people announced, as well as some really cute announcement ideas!!

    We told family right away. TW we have lost a baby and they were very supportive. We announced on Facebook (after someone let the cat out of the bag) at 9 weeks. Was gonna wait til 11.

    With DS, we announced to immediate family pretty much immediately. FB and the rest of family/friends at 12 weeks. 

    Withthis LO, again we announced immediately to immediate family and have told a bunch of IRL people. We don't have a formal plan yet to announce on FB/everyone else. Probably after I get both my Materni21 & NT Scan results back so around 13 weeks?

    We announced at 14 weeks with DS and immediately to our family with this one. We did a social media post on Mother's Day at 11 weeks 5 days with this one to everyone else.
