Re: Poll: DC's sleep habits

  • 1.  Reagan slept the first 3 weeks in a cosleeper in our room.  She now sleeps in her carseat in her crib.

    2.  No, she doesn't sleep through the night.  However she is getting MUCH better at sleeping at night.

    3.  She will sleep 4 solid hours at a time.  Last night she slept from 10-2, 2:30-6, and from 6:30-now

    4.  At 8 we give her a bath, read a book, and if she is ready to eat we feed her.  We are still working on establishing a consistent feeding schedule.  I think when I go back to work next week, we will move her bathtime up to 7:00.

    5.  Currently we feed and change her right before bed, when she wakes up between 1:30 and 2:30, and then again between 5-6.

  • 1.  Where does DC sleep? In his crib, in his room. We moved him in there when he was 2.5w old. We all slept better because of it. Until then he slept in a bassinet in our room, and it was terrible.

    2.  Does DC sleep through the night?  If so, at what age did this begin? Yes. He's been consistently sleeping 11-12 hour stretches since 3.5 mo. He started doing consistent 6+ hour stretches at about 1.5-2 months. We have a difficult child otherwise, so the sleep "gift" was our saving grace.

    3.  How many hours at night does DC sleep in a row? Now, we put him down at around 7:30 and I wake him up at 6:30am for day care. If I let him "sleep in" he stays down until 7:30.

    4.  What is your bedtime routine with DC? Change diaper, giggle with him for a bit, give him his Prevacid, give him a bottle and then put him to sleep.

    5.  How many times do you feed and change DC at night? At this state, I don't feed him at night.

  • 1. Usually in the swing.  When my DH leaves for work I bring him in bed with me for a little bit.

    2. No, he sleeps for three hours at a time.  He acts like he's starving!

    3. 3

    4. Bath, jammies, bottle, quiet time, put to bed

    5. Feed him twice usually, change once

  • 1. In his crib

    2. He first STTN around 12 weeks....BUT....it was very inconsistent at that point. Around 7 months was when he really began STTN for 11-12 hours straight. However, we still have nights when he is up, but usually its only if he is sick or having issues with teething (like right now!)

    3.  Right now he goes 11-12 hours. When he first started STTN, it was around 7-8 hours

    4.  Bath, jammies, relax with mom and dad, sometimes a book (if he will sit still....LOL!) and then bed!

    5. Never! Once he STTN at 12 weeks, we stopped feeding him at night. Occasionally, we will change his diaper if he is fully awake and cranky.....but besides that we don't touch him at night! My pedi said once they STTN even once, they should be able to sleep without eating!
