STM question: Belly binder after c-section?

I hope it's ok to create a new post for this. It doesn't seem to fit into the normal categories. This is my second c-section and I did not use any sort of support belt/ belly binder last time. Things never really went back into place and I felt weak getting up out of bed and moving around. I didn't want anything touching my incision, but I might need to try and get over that! Have any of you who had C-sections tried these binders? If so, did it help? What brand did you use? I want to order something on Amazon today if there's a chance it might help. C-day is Friday!

I didn't use one last time and I kinda regret it. If I have to do it again I will probably use something. Hopefully we get some good info here.

Sorry no help I never used one. I never really felt the need and I healed well so I guess I was lucky. I would research amazon reviews really well if I was going to buy one and just go with the most well-liked.

I used one from buy buy baby after my surprise c-section. I was so scared to put it on at first because I didn't want anything near my incision. But really it was well above my incision so it never bothered it. It felt amazing having it on and I plan to splurge on a better brand this time around (still researching) because the BBB one ended up folding and wrinkling awkwardly after a month. But it felt so good to take the weight and pressure off my incision with the belly band. And it helped me stand upright without feeling like I was going to tear apart. I definitely recommend it.

Bellefit corsets are pretty popular and have really good reviews. I didn't have a c-section but used a belly wrap bff to help contract my uterus and will be doing that again, however I didn't love it because you can see it under clothes. I go back and forth between ordering a bellefit because of the price, but if I had to have a csection I would be ordering one!

I've read a few places that some people get them at their hospital. Was that an option for any of you? I might wait and see. I'd rather have them fit me and have insurance pay for it if it is an option.

With my first c-section I used the binder that the hospital provided. It made me feel safer somehow. It was like a security blanket, but I don't think it helped with healing. With my second and third C-sections I didn't use one but I felt fine without it.

I asked my doctor about this. He said when he wasn't in residency it was standard practice to give them out to everyone. Now, he says he only has a few moms a YEAR ask for them.

I purchased a belly bandit, but also plan on asking if the hospital has one. I used a babies r us brand one last time around and it helped.

I asked for one and my doctor looked at me like I was crazy. She said if I felt like I really needed it (how would I know??) she would write a prescription for one.

FTM- I knew I wanted to use one pp and I researched extensively beforehand and had one on hand that was an adjustable one. I ended up with a cesarean birth and asked as soon as I got to my recovery room if the hospital provided one, and they did. The hospital one was amazing and much better than anything I researched. Unfortunately it gave me a rash but I'd use it again even though it irritates my skin. As a pre/postal yoga teacher I highly recommend using one if you are interested in it, especially after a cesarean birth.

I was given one from my hospital and it was a godsend. I wore it for about two weeks (maybe more) and felt so much better with it on. It helped me stand straight and kept me from needing a pillow at my abdomen for each cough, sneeze, laugh, etc.

I got one from the hospital for each of my cesareans and I loved it. I'd get uncomfortable after a time, but I'd regret taking it off a few hours after I did.

Sneezing with a binder on hurts, but is tolerable. Sneezing without one feels like you're going to explode out of your incision. My new hospital doesn't provide them so I bought one on Amazon for this goaround.

No first hand experience but I was looking at the Upspring C panty on Amazon. Sizing could be tricky since they're s/m and l/XL it showed up as prime eligible when I looked!

I bought a pair and was getting ready to pack them in my hospital bag and it specifically says not for use on new incisions! So weird.
