SECRET Facebook Groups?

Hi everyone,

Are there any secret FB groups for December 2017 / January 2018 moms? I have found several closed groups, but we haven't announced yet & the closed groups can be seen on your profile, in search results, suggestions for friends etc.

I'm thinking of creating a Babies Due Dec 2017 - Jan 2018 group - would any of you be interested in joining? If so, please comment with your email address & I'll add you!

uh, no offense to you, but it's way too early to be sharing personal information. email address, real names on FB, no thanks.

not to mention, why create an account here just to ask people to go hang on FB? you have like five replies and your only two posts are about FB groups. maybe participate here some first.

@mrs_llt I think @anewadventure meant to get to know us, December 17 moms, and participate in this BMB. Like she said, it's too early. Plus new moms are joining every day and we all need to get to know each other before we make that jump.

Also, I was wondering how long it would take for someone to suggest a FB group. It took longer than I expected!

I think there was a Facebook thread started relatively early but we shut it down. Or someone brought it up in a different thread. It definitely wasn't as bad as N17 though! I lurked the shit out of those threads!

It really bothers me that non-contributers try coming on here to recruit for Facebook. OP, you haven't made any effort to get to know any of us. We're a friendly bunch and we've got a good thing going here on D17. If you want to be a part of an expectant mothers Facebook group, please go join one of those. It's a little bit unnerving for you to ask for our private information when we don't know you. Many of us will probably eventually migrate to a Facebook group for our BMB, but not until much much further on.

Too early! Like way! My other group didn't form until after our babies were born.

In my previous BMB groups, a Facebook group wasn't created until like, a month AFTER we had the babies.
For me it's a big fat NO on a Facebook group. It's crazy early. Facebook introduces real names, locations, personal photos, and personal information. It will also cause a level of caution in our discussions. People will be less inclined to be honest, open or blunt if your real name is slapped next to everything you type.

I'm also in the "wait till after birth" club. Makes no sense to start earlier because after our babies are born, the few who have actually stuck to the BMB the whole time have become like friends and it's less weird and stranger danger.

Like the others said, way to early. I'll join one in the fall if someone starts an earlier one then once I get to know some people. I did join my last birth month group two months before my babies were born and that was good, we became a super close group and had a lot of support when the babies arrived.

Wait also I just want to add that all of my fb photos are set to friends only so people in the private groups can't actually see my stuff. I'm in 2 or 3 groups on fb and I really like it bc I don't have to remember to check in... I get notifications if something i commented on has action. Or I randomly see posts in my news feed. Literally it's just fun. No stranger danger. My fb name is my first name only. Much like many of the usernames here on the bump. Not saying anybody has to join one. Just pointing out why I've enjoyed the experience. So OP u may enjoy them too.

With my old BMB we started a Facebook group for the "regulars" pretty early. Things exploded right after the first of the babies were born and we broke into two groups after that. This time around id like to wait a little later to do that so we can get to know one another a little better than my previous bmb did.
