Hi Everyone

This is a weekly check-in for those in their 2nd trimester: weeks 14 through the end of week 27.

Congrats to all the strong ladies who have made it this far! It's such a great feeling and we've all accomplished so much! We are now 1 week closer to the end of this especially long journey we call "infertility."

Please post below a little about yourself, how many beans you have growing inside, if you have found out the sex(es) and what your EDD is. Please also let us know how far you've made it on your journey and when your next appointment is and what for. If I'm missing anyone from this list, or you are new to the 2nd tri, please let me know and I will add you.

Please let us know when you have graduated to 3rd trimester so that I can update our list!

Hi everyone!! Sorry for the late post - I'm on Moblie today so I haven't completely updated the list but I will tomorrow!!

Im 27w1d with our little boy & it's my 33rd birthday!! Unfortunately I'm at home with a headache (which has really let up but at this point I'm enjoying the sun and puppy cuddles & have no desire to drive in to the city hehe).
Our LO had hiccups this weekend. So funny to feel! Went on for over 2 mins. We had our labour & delivery class which was great - DH really enjoyed it - lots of great info.

QOTW - this has been asked before but with so many newcomers and some of us not knowing last it was posted - thought I would post again. DH and I will be going in to the city (Toronto, ON) for an extra loooog weekend the first weekend of June. Nice hotel suite, lots of food, shopping, go to the Island for a day & a couple baseball games. Nice little getaway before baby and for our birthdays.

  • Hi all. Im 22+6 today with one little boy. it's been a quick couple of weeks, which is nice. But I'm starting to feel like we aren't going to get everything done! I feel like my belly popped a little in the last few days. Fun Fact: being plus-size and pregnant means you will not be noticeably pregnant for a while. I still don't look pregnant but close friends and family say they can tell. So that's fun. We (=my mom) purchased our crib this weekend. I'm super excited. Unfortunately, after doing a room layout, we have decided to switch the bedroom that we'll be using as the nursery. Which means the painting that DH did in the smaller room has to be redone in the larger room. But I hope I can help him. And last bit of good news, my sister asked if she could throw a small shower for close friends and family. So I will have 2 showers, one through work and now this one. I'm feeling the love, for sure!

QOTW: We haven't planned a babymoon. We may go away for a night during the long 4th of July holiday. But nothing is set in stone. I need to save all my paid time off for maternity leave!

@JWatt5 How does it feel to be at the end of the 2nd tri?? I'm so happy for you! And it's your birthday!! Happiest of birthdays to you!! Hope your babymoon is AMAZING!!

  • Hope you guys had a wonderful mother's day weekend and were pampered a bit with those beautiful babies growing!!

I'm 16 weeks with this kiddo. Feeling good, no real updates! We had a junk company come so we could purge, so I finally see a room where this next kiddo can sleep ;)

QOTW ugh I would LOVE a babymoon! Since we have a 3 year old the logistics of someone watching her get tricky so I think we're just taking her for a family trip down to South Carolina in August, my inlaws are semi-retired there and let us use their house. One last trip as a family of 3. It'll be our 10 year wedding anniversary in September (!!!) so we've already said when this next baby is 6+ months or so, my inlaws offered to take the kids and we'll do a long weekend then. We went to Jamaica for our honeymoon and would love to go back but obviously have to see how things go with the new baby and how comfortable we are leaving :) So long story short haha no babymoon for us :)
  • How was everyones Mother's Day?

@jwatt5 ahh happy birthday!!! Sorry about your headache, but puppy cuddles sounds like the perfect remedy. <3 I had no idea that they could hiccup in the womb and I think that is the coolest thing!! I hope you have a fun and relaxing baby moon!

@latershrader Yay for your sister throwing a shower! That is so nice of your mom to buy your crib, which one did you choose? I'm starting to feel anxious that we won't get everything done either, and I'm only 17 weeks so I need to chill out.  :D

@omarismyhomeboy Woohoo you go girl with building a shelf! Keeping my fingers crossed for you and can't wait to hear about your scan! My husband is from San Diego and I have always wanted to go. Someday!

@Polythene Pam Oh gosh a junk truck sounds amazing right now. I just want to empty our house and start over. :D Future plans to celebrate your anniversary sound perfect. <3

I'm 16+4 with one little jumping bean and still feeling great! I still have a little nausea but 2nd tri is way better hehe. No real updates this week but in the next couple weeks we have a lot going on and I am so excited. 5/22 we have a private gender scan booked so we can figure out if it's a HE or SHE, then we have a regular OB appointment 5/25, and then we have our Anatomy Scan booked for 6/8 so c'mon time..move faster :)

QOTW: So, I totally spaced on this last week but we do have a babymoon planned for mid August. We are going to spend some time at a family house in Martha's Vineyard. Hubby has never been and I haven't been in about 10 years.

I hope you all had a great weekend!

I'm 21 weeks today with a little boy. I don't feel a lot of movement since the placenta is on top. However, baby boy has found my bladder and I definitely feel that!  Next OB appt is in June. I definitely look pregnant.  The backaches have started at night, so I bought a body pillow that helps.

QOTW:  DH and I just returned from our babymoon on Saturday. We went to Gatlinburg, TN. It was one of the best trips we've had.  DH has also suggested we do a beach trip, but I think it might be too hot for me. We will see.

    Happy Birthday, @JWatt5!

  • Hey everyone!  I've missed you guys last week - just super busy at work!  You tell your boss that you aren't really doing much and next thing you know he piles it on.  I love it but that also means not alotta free time.

  • Bump - deleted my message!  Here was the rest:

16 weeks tomorrow.  I have an appt on friday for us + cervix check.  I'm hoping the tech can see if its 2 boys or 1 boy and 1 girl!

My mothers day was good.  We had to go to the in laws and my parents in so much traffic.  My 2yr old has been acting very special these last couple of days.  I love her to pieces but between being exhausted from running around all day and being pg, she really tests my patience.

QOTW:  Between needing to save time for maternity leave and how my 2yr old has been behaving, I can't imagine leaving her with anyone nor taking her with us.  We are contemplating on going to sesame place but our biggest issue has been the when.  We don't wanna go to mid summer nor do we wanna go when its close to our due date.  But we really wanna give our dd one last hurrah before the babies come.

  • @hopeby2015 "acting special." Haha there's something in the air :) my daughter is the same right now, I blame spring fever :) cant wait to hear the babies genders!!
  • Hi ladies! I'm 25 weeks 4 days with a boy. I just came back from an appointment and everything looks good! I go back on June 5th and get my glucose screening then. Nothing much new here except I've been having really bad acid reflux the last few days and not sleeping well due to being very uncomfortable laying on my side (even with my Snoogle).

QOTW: We took a short Babymoon to Canada and it was perfect! We had so much fun and really enjoyed our time together...we were so sad to have to return back to work!

@JWatt5 Happy birthday! Have a great time in Toronto in a few weeks, thanks again for the suggestions!

@omarismyhomeboy Best of luck at the anatomy scan! Your mini trip sounds great! I've never been to San Diego before but always hear good things.

@ChocolateIsLife That onesie is so adorable! I can relate to the tearing up over baby related stuff...it's such a surreal feeling for me when I once was at a place where I questioned whether or not I would ever be pregnant.

New to this thread and happy to be here! Hi ladies!

Im 16 weeks with pgd twins (boy and girl)! I'm so badly wanting to see them and kinda bummed that I didn't get an ultrasound with my 16 week visit:( is this normal? I thought at least once a month is protocol. I'm gonna have to wait till June 7th for the anatomy scan and I guess I'll just have to be patient till then.

Weird question for you all.. can you physically feel your little ones through your tummy? Like an actually lump within your growing belly? I thought this entire time that I was feeling my fibroid but it turns out that it's one of the babies! Apparently if you're thin enough you can feel them!? I only just realized I've been poking at my babies at my appt last week. Isn't that insane?!

Anyways, happy to be apart of this thread and belated HAppy Mother's Day to you girlies.

@Stars2016 I'm with you in the reflux and sleeping poorly. The body pillow, a boppy, helps some, but doesn't fix everything. Have you found anything to help with the reflux?  I was prescribed something but that gave me borderline migraines. It might help you. It is protonix.

  • @kp214 No I haven't found anything yet. I mentioned it today to my doctor and he just gave me a list of OTC meds I can try. I just picked up Zantac so I'll see how that works. If it continues I'll have to ask about protonix, thanks!
  • Hi all, I guess I'm in 2nd tri now!  I'm 14-6 with a singleton, don't know for sure boy or girl yet.  Hopefully we find out for sure at my follow-up NT scan on Monday. Honestly not 100% sure why dr ordered another full scan, he said it was something about "just want to look for growth over the next month" or something, even though he said we look fine.  IDK if it's because they're MFM and they like to go overboard with scans (which I mean, not really complaining) or because there's something up, even though my first-round blood tests came back no-news-good-news. My OB said if anything, MFM tends to freak people out unnecessarily, so if they're saying it's NBD, it's almost certainly NBD, but still.

QOTW: We're actually going to Greece for 10 days over the summer. We sorta started thinking about it before we found out about baby, just to take a break and get our minds off things, but once we found out about baby we moved the dates around a bit to make it work and got to booking.  My grandmother is having an aneurism over it because she thinks I'm pregnant therefore I should do nothing but sit on the sofa for 9 months eating bonbons and "resting," but whatever lol.
  • So many great babymoons that are planned or have already happened! @Kp214 Your trip to Gatlinburg sound great! I am actually originally from Knoxville,TN and have spent much time in Gatlinburg. Its beautiful there :)

  • Hey all, 24 weeks here!!! VIABILITY!!! Beau (aka baby boy) is doing well it seems despite me being up all night sick. Clearly I ate something :( no fun. I'm feeling a bit better today, slowly recovering and trying to up my fluids.
We have our next OB appointment on Friday where I do the glucose test. Boo. Hoping I pass but I've had quite the sweet tooth this pregnancy so we'll see... fx

QOTW: We finally decided to bite the bullet and take a babymoon back to Vancouver, Canada where we grew up. To make it special Eric booked us business class tickets and a fancy hotel room. I feel spoiled. I'll get to meet my nephew, we can catch up with old friends, and my mom is throwing me a very small shower. Unfortunately, my friends are all spread out around the world (literally) so it's like 8 ppl attending and much of that is actually family haha. It's not about the gifts for me, in fact could care less about that part, I just really want to celebrate this pregnancy after 5 years of struggle. So I'm glad my mom is putting this together for me. <3

I haven't had a chance to go through and read what y'all have been up to as I'm still not feeling well, but I'll be sure to check in as soon as I can. This week is crazy (and the worst week to be sick) as we move on Thursday! So I'm trying to pack a box here and there between couch/nap breaks. Hope everyone is well <3<3<3

@Joslynj11 what a small world!  It was the best trip!  It was sad to see all the fire damage in the park, though, and the fire came so close to the town.  We were glad there wasn't more damage.

@oxinfree  yay for viability!  Boo for being sick. I hope you feel even better this evening and back to normal tomorrow.  That's nice that you'll get to see family on your trip and that you are being taken care of getting there.

@sasha29-2 Greece sounds like a great trip!  I want to visit one day. Would love to hear about it when you get back!

  • @oxinfree so sorry to hear you are under the weather. Feel better soon!!

@Kp214 I haven't been home since the fire last year but I was heart broken seeing it on the news. It will definitely be a shock when I do make it back. I try and go to TN twice a year but with baby coming in October and hosting a baby shower where we live and then the Babymoon we might not make it back until late year :(

  • @mous-2 - I'm pregnant with twins as well and I only go to my ob but since 14 wks, she's had me come in every 2 wks to at least get an us to check the cervix and hbs.  At your next appt, I'd ask your ob if she will do the extra us or maybe you need to see an mfm/high risk doc, especially as you get further along - there can be lots of complications with twins and they should be extra careful!

@sasha29-2 - So jealous!  I'd love to take a babymoon to Greece for a few days.  But unfortunately, we dont have the money or time.  Maybe when the babies are like 8 or 10.

@JWatt5 due date is October 22! Though I keep getting told with twins I'm more likely gonna deliver weeks earlier than that so who knows?

@hopeby2015 that's what I figured! Everyone keeps saying how with twins there's much more at risk and we went through all this struggle to get to this point that I wanna feel like everyone is taking this pregnancy as seriously as I am. I would settle for an us every month but every two weeks sounds even more appealing! I'm gonna bring it up at my next appointment for sure
  • Just checking in to say our anatomy scan went well today! She's got all her parts! Overall she's 40th percentile but some of the smaller measurements are so weird- like her femur is in the 5th percentile but something related to head circumference is 90th??? Okay then!

  • @oxinfree yep, its a PGS-tested female embryo! Of course, we're waiting til our u/s at 18 weeks before we officially announce, but this allows us to plan a bit early! Now if DH can just stop slipping up and referring to baby as "she" in front of our relatives... lol!

@LeFemmeViolette if you wanted to tell earlier what the gender is, there's a blood test that check for genetic abnormalities and tell the gender by doing a blood test that could have been done as early as 10 weeks, I think. That's what I told people when I kept referring to the baby as a he and was asked.

  • @Jwatt5 Belated happy birthday and congratulations on moving on to 3rd trimester!

@omarismyhomeboy So happy to hear that your anatomy scan went well! Also, nice work on building a corner shelf.

    @oxinfree I hope you're feeling better!

I'm 21 weeks 3 days with a girl. We have our anatomy scan at MFM bright and early on Monday morning. I'm really anxious to see her on screen again since I still only feel her move every once in awhile. Stupid anterior placenta cushions her movements, apparently.

QOTW: We actually did our babymoon last week (which is why I have been MIA--sorry!!) in gooorgeous Charleston, SC. I completely fell in love with the place. The food scene is unbelievable. So basically, it's a hungry pregnant lady's dream, although it's a major drinking town so I had to get creative with a new go-to drink: club soda with a splash of pineapple and a lime.

I hope you all have had a wonderful weekend!
