Re: Newbie Intro Thread Week of 5/1
Ages: I'm 28, DH will be 30 in June.
How many months: on and off for about 19 months
WAYDTGKU: We're just starting this process again, so sex right now.
About me! I was active here last summer and on and off before then. When I hit one year of TTC, I hit a fairly major breaking point in my mental health. I went though a pretty deep depression that has been managed with a lot of talk therapy and anti-depressants. DH and I talked last night and we are interested in moving forward again with TTC.
I was given a referral to a fertility specialist and have been sitting on it since February. I am going to be calling them on my lunch break to see if I can make an appointment with them.
So, if you happen to remember me, HI AGAIN!! If not, it's nice to meet you all!!
Me: 32 years old
DS1 Due 6.7.2021
How many months: on and off since June 2016
WAYDTGKU: Since we just decided we're really ready just sex right now, and lazy tracking on an app.
About me! I'm a full-time student going for human services and I also work part time teaching children's dance. We were kind of winging it until around January I had a rough patch with my mental health. Since then I've started on Zoloft and combined with the peace that has given me and DH having a serious moment over turning 30 soon we have decided we are really ready for kids.
Nice to meet you all
I did an intro a little while back when I first started participating in the TFAS thread, at the time I was still on BCP and we were narrowing down our TTC timeframe. I'm now off the pill so I think I'm going to jump into the daily threads! Some of you may recognize me from the RH/VPR thread. Bravo reality shows are my jam.
**child mentioned**
Ages (you and SO): I'm 26, DH is 34.
How many months have you been TTC? This is our first month TTC#2
What are you doing to get knocked up (WAYDTGKU)? I have IR-PCOS and I'm also trying to help my body counteract any leftover effects of the mini-pill
-Metformin, myo-inositol supplement, PNV, vitamin E every day and then pomegranate juice, RRL, and green tea at certain times of my cycle. I'm also going to try out OPKs, but as I understand it, many PCOS gals either never get a + or get random surges, making OPKs useless. We'll see how that goes.
Tell us about yourself! (Kids, pets, job, hobbies, etc.)
We have a 14 month old baby boy. We both work full time but when I get some me-time, I love to work out (spin class and orangetheory), play golf with my husband, practice calligraphy, bake/cook, or zone out with some reality tv. I love a good drink (wine, craft beer, cocktail, whatever!) and I'm making more time to read lately. About to start reading The Handmaid's Tale so I can watch the new series on Hulu. I'm also a bit of a coffee snob.

How many months have you been TTC? This is our first month trying for #2
What are you doing to get knocked up? Tracking
Tell us about yourself! My husband and I are both engineers. Right now I'm going to school for a PhD, due to finish in July. We have a soon to be 12 month old daughter. When I have time I like to run/workout. As a family we love to travel. We'll be moving soon and we are in the process of selling our current house. Life is hectic, but honestly I wouldn't have it any other way. I'm excited to participate on here since I didn't with my last round of TTGP!
Hi Everyone!
**child mentioned**
Ages (you and SO): We're both 32, but I'm 3 months older and he likes to milk that.
How many months have you been TTC? Currently 8dpo in our 7th cycle
What are you doing to get knocked up (WAYDTGKU)?
I use OPKs and I temp regularly. My cycle is usually 26 days, and I ovulate on CD 12 usually.
So far, I've had an HSG test done to rule out any blockages in my fallopian tubes, since I had lots of abdominal surgeries when I was younger. The HSG was clear in my tubes (yay!) but showed a small polyp.
I had the polyp removed on April 12th (turned out to be just overgrowth of the lining), got the all clear to resume TTC last week, and my doctor also checked my progesterone and thyroid yesterday just to be safe.
My progesterone was "a little low" at 13.9 on 7DPO, so she prescribed supplements for me to start next month if we don't get our BFP this round. DH will also get tested at that point, too!
Tell us about yourself! (Kids, pets, job, hobbies, etc.)
DH has an almost-5 year old who lives with us most of the time, and I love being a stepmom. We have a terrific relationship, and he is very vocal about wanting a baby sister, ha. I'm a professional hand-letterer, freelance, designer, and I also work for a web publishing platform. DH is engineer at a sustainable-design firm. Little H is planning on becoming a police astronaut. We love family hikes, cooking meals, playing legos, and binge-watching Netflix after bedtime whole scarfing down cheese and crackers. We live in the PNW and love it like crazy. I've been dying to find a forum that wasn't cruel or negative, and heard wonderful things about this one! So excited, thanks for having me.
DSS: 5- starting kindergarten this fall!
TTC since our wedding: October 22, 2016
BFP #1 5/10/2017!!!
*Sadly, we lost our sweet babe on 6/19/17 at 9 weeks, 2 days. But we are made of hope, and we'll be back here soon.*
Ages (you and SO): I'm 31, husband is 33.
How many months have you been TTC? This is our first month trying for number two. Our DD was born at 27 weeks, so we've been a little hesitant getting started, finally feeling ready.
What are you doing to get knocked up? Mostly tracking and checking CM at this point. Trying to figure out my cycle again after over a year back on BC.
Tell us about yourself! (Kids, pets, job, hobbies, etc.) My DH and I both work FT in finance. We have a sassy 14 month old daughter on our hands that keeps us very busy. In my free time I enjoy knitting, reading, golfing, and going for walks.
I didn't participate much in the boards when trying for my first so I look forward to being more involved this time!
@notironmanswife and @bleta6 - you both listed 'tracking' in your WAYDTGKU... what kind of tracking? You'll find a lot of women here track/chart BBT, CM, CP, as well as all of their symptoms - some track everything, others only one or two signs.
Ages (you and SO): I'm 27 and DH is 37
How many months have you been TTC? We've been TTC #1 for 4 months
What are you doing to get knocked up (WAYDTGKU)? I've been charting BBT and CM. I have very long, irregular, and frequently anovulatory cycles and haven't actually ovulated (or even had breakthrough bleeding!) since we started TTC. I'm trying to get an appointment scheduled with an OB / GYN (my PCP is a GP) to try to get some answers and figure out how to move forward.
Tell us about yourself! (Kids, pets, job, hobbies, etc.) I work in Biotech and MH is a chef (which is amazing, he makes THE BEST food). I also love to cook, so we spend a lot of time in the kitchen. We eat a mostly Paleo / Whole 30-inspired diet, so we have a lot of fun experimenting with unconventional riffs on comfort food.
I'm a runner and have done a handful of ultras. I also love yoga, hiking, and spin class. I am a voracious reader and love books from all different genres. Recently I finished 'A Gentleman in Moscow' which was super good.
We have a cat, Mr. Darcy and will be getting a golden doodle / golden backcross puppy mid-June. We are also in the process of buying our first house.
I've really enjoyed reading though some of the community message boards and am looking forward to participating in this community! It's nice to not feel so alone in this process.
Married: 02.11.2017
Hello! I've been lurking on the board for a few months and finally feel comfortable jumping in so here goes!
**TW** Child and Loss mentioned
Ages (you and SO): I'm 31 and my husband is 35
How many months have you been TTC? Since November 2016. This is day 3 of month/cycle 7. Our first month of trying, I had a positive test but then began bleeding about two weeks later. Bloodwork revealed it was an early miscarriage. Luckily we were able to jump right back in to things but I think the loss has affected my confidence/increased anxiety a bit more than I'm willing to admit
What are you doing to get knocked up ? Sex during fertile window, tracking BBT and CM on FF and as of the last cycle: using Preseed, healthy(ish) eating/calorie counting, limiting caffeine and alcohol, Pom juice and pineapple core at different times in my cycle. This past cycle I started trying anything that I read could help/couldn't hurt because why not!
Tell us about yourself! (Kids, pets, job, hobbies, etc.) Both DH and I are naive New Englanders, we have 1 DS who is 22 months old. I am an English teacher in an alternative educational setting and H works in IT security. No pets but I'd love to get a dog someday.
I'm really looking forward to getting to know everyone. This seems like a helpful and positive community to become a member of. Thanks for having me!
Ages (you and SO): I'm 31 and hubby is 33
How many months have you been TTC? I think I already ovulated this month and we just had the talk about actively trying so I'm not sure I even count this month.
What are you doing to get knocked up (WAYDTGKU)? I downloaded FF and ordered a thermometer so I can start tracking. Also trying to figure out how on the earth hubby and I are going to actually try since our adult time is only on the weekends because our work schedules are so different. We never see each other during the week.
Tell us about yourself! (Kids, pets, job, hobbies, etc.) Our kids have fur 1 dog and 2 cats. I love arts and crafts, backpacking, hiking, off-roading, buying stuff on Amazon, fun runs, reading, and cooking. Not sure what to expect I guess that's why I'm here. A little nervous, excited, happy, and scared all at the same time! I look forward to getting to know everyone
I'm a bit late jumping in on this one but...
Ages (you and SO):
I'll be 25 in June and DH is 25.
How many months have you been TTC?
We aren't actively trying until my next cycle. I just went off birth control last month.
What are you doing to get knocked up (WAYDTGKU)?
I will be charting BBT and CM. Downloaded FF today.
Tell us about yourself! (Kids, pets, job, hobbies, etc.)
DH works for his dad in an accounting office, and I'm an overnight manager for Walmart. Obviously our schedules clash a bit. We have two cats and are looking at possibly adopting a puppy. Both of us love Pokémon, so we spend a couple of hours a week walking around together playing Pokémon Go. I enjoy reading and knitting, and I'm attempting to learn how to crochet. I'm looking forward to getting to know everyone.
Hello all, I've been lurking for a few weeks and figured it was time to introduce myself
Ages (you and SO): We are both 31 (I'll be 32 in a couple weeks)
How many months have you been TTC? This is our second full cycle
What are you doing to get knocked up (WAYDTGKU)? HIO, and roughly charting symptoms in FF. I'm a BBT failure
About us: DH and I have a toddler named Finnegan who will be 3 in June, we also have 2 cats - Goji and Odin. I work in marketing and web design and in my spare time I'm an active cosplayer/costumer

How many months have you been TTC? We've been trying for 8 months/this is my 3rd cycle
What are you doing to get knocked up (WAYDTGKU) ? I just started seeing an RE in March after having long cycles and feeling like something was wrong. After a month of testing, I was diagnosed with PCOS. I'm on metformin and I'm trying to lose a little weight. Since I haven't ovulated in a good long time, I take provera to induce bleeding. I've done one cycle of clomid 50mg and it didn't induce ovulation, but my RE thinks combining it with metformin and trying 100mg will help. I also chart my temp, take PNVs, use OPKs, and we use preseed. If only I would ovulate!
Tell us about yourself! (Kids, pets, job, hobbies, etc.) I'm a stay-at-home-mom to my daughter (we didn't have any trouble conceiving her, so this whole experience has been new to us), who will be two years old next month. My husband is a data security analyst. Sometimes it feels like we have a small zoo because we have many pets (two cats, a hamster, and a German Shepherd).
I go to yoga classes twice a week; I love knitting and reading long books. Lately, I've been experimenting with different cooking and baking ingredients since I'm trying to eat better to manage my PCOS and my weight.
I was using this board (as norahbeansmom) when we first started TTC, but stopped because I knew I had a problem and was getting really discouraged. Now that I have some things straightened out and have an actual plan, I feel a lot less anxious and I am looking forward to getting to know the members of this community!

Hi everyone! I've been lurking off and on for a few months. Ever since FI and I decided we'd start trying end of May. I'm so excited for May to finally be here for multiple reasons!
Ages (you and SO): I'm 27 and FI is 29.
How many months have you been TTC? I get my period in 3 days and that kicks off our first month of trying.
What are you doing to get knocked up (WAYDTGKU)? I started tracking my cycles when I went off birth control in January. I've been meaning to get a thermometer but haven't yet. We're going to try to be casual about it the first few months.
Tell us about yourself! (Kids, pets, job, hobbies, etc.) Well we get married exactly two weeks from today
We have one dog, one cat, and a foster dog. FI works in a chemistry lab. I recently started my own furniture rental and home styling business. I nanny part-time while I get that going. Things have been so crazy around here I haven't been doing my hobbies as much but they're yoga, gardening, and scrap booking.
Hellooooo everyone! It has been quite some time since I've been on here. I was pretty active back in the beginning of 2016. My mental well being took a major hit and really began taking a toll on all aspects of my life. As much as I hated putting the Bump down, I had to
Anywho, I am back! Can't wait to get to know everyone here!
Ages (you and SO): I just turned 31 and SO is 37
How many months have you been TTC? 38.....38 months of torture
What are you doing to get knocked up? For close to 8 months, nothing but sex. My hormones are all out of whack again (thanks PCOS) so I am pretty much starting from scratch. Will start temping again next cycle. Slowly adding Metformin. Exercise yada yada yada
Tell us about yourself! (Kids, pets, job, hobbies, etc.)

Hello everyone!
Ages (you and SO): I just turned 33 and DH is 34.
How many months have you been TTC? 3 months / 2 cycles
What are you doing to get knocked up? I went for a full check up 6 month ago, and I had to renew some vacinnations. I also started taking a prenatal multivitamine and DHA. I also stop taking cafeine and fish for 4 month before ttc. How ver, I was diagnosed wih a low thyroid level, so I am medicating with 25mg Thy oxine since our #1 cycle ttc. Since our #2 cycle I am charting bbt, and using OPKs. I discovered that my luteal phase is between 9-10 days, but at least seems that I am ovulating. My DH will check his sperm for this new cycle that I am just starting.
Tell us about yourself! (Kids, pets, job, hobbies, etc.) I am an electronic engineer and work for the automotive industry. My DH is studying engineering after working 10 years in the social sector. I just started a doctorate and I am planning to switch to academy when I find a good job opportunity in th university as teacher assistant.
I've been lurking for a week or so, and finally decided to jump in with an introduction.
Ages (you and SO): We're both 30.
How many months have you been TTC? *TW* Four total, I guess, but this will be our first after the most recent MC.
What are you doing to get knocked up (WAYDTGKU)? Currently TTA until AF comes, although if it were up to me we'd be going for it right now.
Tell us about yourself! (Kids, pets, job, hobbies, etc.) We have 4 cats. I work as a teacher and DH and I own a small business together. I sew a lot, esp quilts, and love to garden, read and cook. DH and I are big nerds - we play D&D, Magic, Pokemon Go and watch anime. So glad to see other nerds on this board
