AF after IUI

When are you supposed to start your cycle after an IUI? Is it the standard 14 days after ovulation or does that not apply?
TIA!

Re: AF after IUI

  • Did you take progesterone during your TWW? I always seems to start the day after I stop taking it. For the most part, AF usually is the same time as it would be during my normal cycle.

  • @kristimh80 I start progesterone tomorrow.... I'm 2dpiui. I was just wondering if I should expect AF 12-14 dpo as usual or if it would take longer. I didn't consider the progesterone, does that postpone AF?
None of this was explained to me. All I know is I have my beta on the 22nd, AF was never mentioned. More greek. Lol

  • Loading the player...
  • I would usually get it about 2 days after I was done with progesterone. My nurses told me it delays AF in some people and some get it while still on the progesterone.
  • What baseballhoney said...some people it delays, some not. My dose is low, so last month AF came despite it. I have been on a higher dose and had to stop it before AF would show, so it really just depends. :)

  • I was wondering the same thing. My IUI was Friday 5/12 trigger on 5/10. Im currently not on progesterone I go in this Friday 5/19 to check to see if I need to take it. I normally ovulate on my own around day 14 which I normally would be due around next Friday the day of my BETA 5/19. If I ovulated within the 24 to 36 hours then AF should arrive Thursday or Friday correct? My normal cycle is 27/28 days occasional I'll ovulate later and there was a few times my cycle was 31 days but never any longer.
  • @Labluver2 Sounds right. Last month my AF was 5 days early even on progestrone, so at times there's not telling considering all the medication we are on. This month I was pretty much on time. Sometimes with medicine, you just never know...they make our bodies do all kind of things lol
