First Follicle Ultrasound for (hopefully) IUI

I'm getting my first ultrasound tomorrow to see if I have any follicles ready and then Ovidrel trigger shot, if they are ready... I'm really really nervous. I guess I just need some reassurance. How was your experience? Is it painful? I could also use some good vibes/prayers. I don't know if I'll sleep tonight.

    I just had my first IUI on Friday. It wasn't bad I had slight cramping after  and it was a little uncomfortable for a min when the catheter reached my uterus. The hardest is the TWW. Even the trigger shot wasn't as bad as I though. Good luck with your appt.

    Have you had a vaginal ultrasound before? I assume you did a baseline ultrasound where you had your ovaries checked, but if not it doesn't hurt. The ovidrel didn't bother me at all, and I gave it to myself so don't worry about the shot. It's a super small needle.

    I don't know if you're doing IUI, but my IUI was slightly uncomfortable. I don't think the nurse doing it was very good because she had a hard time getting the speculum in the correct spot (which has never happened in my 10+ years of exams). I was told it should be easier than my SHG, but like I said I think the person doing it makes a difference. It was uncomfortable but very quick.

    They inject less fluid into you than the sonohyst, so it should be less painful!

    @nmd9168 what meds have you been taking? I'm assuming this is a medicated IUI. 
    The IUI doesn't hurt, it's a bit uncomfortable but it's so quick you'll hardly notice.... less than 5 mins. 
    I just had my first IUI Sat, I was on 75 iu of follistim for 7 days then triggered on the 8th day cycle day 11.

    RX: Follistim (75iu)/ Trigger/ IUI/ Progesterone
    Starting 1st IUI cycle Friday 4/28

    Well I had the first ultrasound and they found one follicle that was growing, but not quite where they wanted it to be yet, so I am going back on Friday morning for another ultrasound. Fingers crossed!

    How'd everything go? I remember my 1st follicle scan, I'm still always intrigued by the whole process. My IUI is always pretty painless, the speculem is uncomfortable, but that's about it and its all over fast :)

    @kristimh80I had the first ultrasound this morning and they found one follicle that was growing, but not quite where they wanted it to be yet (15cm and I guess they want it to be around 18cm), so I am going back on Friday morning for another ultrasound. Hopefully, Saturday is when I will get my IUI. I'm super anxious. The ultrasound itself wasn't bad. I forgot to pee first (sorry tmi lol) so the tech was kind of pushing on that area and making me feel like I had to go, but it was not too bad.

    How exciting!! Best of luck to you! I remember my 1st ultrasound and didn't go before she started...now even if I don't have to go I make myself! lol
