Today mine is my toddler. Nothing I could do this morning was right. He wanted a waffle. I cooked a waffle. He threw the waffle on the floor for the dogs. He wanted a banana. I gave him a banana. He smashed it on the fridge. Also, I am a horrible person because I made him wear a clean diaper, brush his teeth, and put shoes on. Oh the humanity.
My SIL had he baby yesterday and my TW is my MIL who tried to tell me that DH and I could come visit at the hospital but we'd have to get a babysitter for DD. I was not happy. I asked her about it and during the conversation it sounded like something that was being implemented by her and was not a direct request of the new parents so I confronted her on it and she admitted it was her idea. I asked her to please check with the new parents and they didn't seem to care. I imagined they wouldn't want her holding him since they're super new (and young) parents and I figured they wouldn't be *that* comfortable yet. But DD has been on many hospital visits to visit new babies and always been welcome and well behaved and held the babies when the parents offered. She loves it. And DH's family knows it. So I was slightly more than miffed at my MIL for trying to pull that BS. DD did ask why she didn't get to hold the baby when we got back in the car (DH and I didn't get to hold him either) but I think I played it off ok. Still stewing over that one though... I get if she was wild or loud or crazy bouncing off the walls, but she knows to whisper so she doesn't wake the baby and not touch unless the new mommy offers. She sat in my lap perfectly behaved the whole time just wide-eyed and whispering how small he was.

@zigzag8412 your DD sounds seriously precious! @JDW0325 ha it was leftover chicken gyoza from last night! And clementines. We're probably going to have more for dinner...
@DuchessOfCambridge, I'm completely biased, but she totally is. Also your lunch/dinner sounds super yummy.

@ElizabethSchuyler she said that since they were new parents they'd probably be really nervous and not want the "daycare germs" around the baby. Irony- my MIL's daughter who was perfectly allowed to go see her new nephew works at a daycare. I mean, I get the difference between a teenager who knows to wash their hands and a 5yo who probably couldn't care less, but still. We brought balloons and a snack basket and I tucked some hand sanitizer in the snack basket to hopefully ease any concerns. They didn't use it for anyone who held him while we were there. But like I said, DD doesn't hold babies unless the mommy offers and she knows it and was fine.
ETA: And, FTR, no, new baby (Sammy) isn't going to daycare. Above mentioned teenage SIL is quitting her daycare job to nanny him at least until he's probably 2...

My TW is my BFFs FI....they had an extra u/s today to double check her baby's risk for downs. She was really nervous about it and I was nervous for her too. During the u/s they found out the sex and it was an major upset apparently. He wanted a boy first and didn't get his wish. So she's on her way to my place to eat away from his negativity for a bit and let him "cool down". What a douche nugget.
Tw is someone I work with who today as a form of congrats said " how sweet you get to share this experience with one of your students too!" With a snide smile. I had to bite my tongue to not ask loudly "WTF does that mean?" I've been married for over 5 years and am near my 30's. My student is 18, unwed and barely going to graduate and is a month ahead of me. There is nothing being shared. Not even advice to her. We just both happen to be pregnant. I really wanted to tell her off but instead I said " uh nope not sharing, didn't even tell her I am and besides that's not appropriate at all." Bitch.
It's funny how it's the little things in life that mean the most...not where you live, or what you drive, or the price tag on your clothes... There's no dollar sign on a piece of mind, this I've come to know! *ZBB*
I was pretty active in the fitness community before getting pregnant but during my first tri I was so sick I couldn't exercise and now I'm finding it's hard to do full workouts because I'm SO TIRED and I've never been a big fan of yoga so that's out. But this one girl who had her baby two weeks ago just posted about how she worked out 5 days a week duribbg her pregnancy and did yoga everyday and now can't wait for her doctor to say she can exercise again ND I'm just like... no. Screw you. You don't get to brag about the fact that you worked out all the time when you were pregnant. I physically CAN NOT do that and as a result I'm sure I will put on more pregnancy weigh that she did. Ugh. TW
My TW is my MIL who cannot seem to understand that my children are not her's to run off with whenever she wants. We have family plans and they do not include your intrusions. Also, my oldest is 4 and a short 4, so a standard adult walking pace means the poor guy is running to keep up. Let go of his damn hand and quit dragging him behind you!
@bcashaw I HATE those women. I, too , was an avid workout person. My husband used to call me a junkie. But without fail, I always gain 20-30 in first tri which is fine. It's what my last baby needed and it's what this baby needs. I honestly couldn't even function let alone workout. Trust me I will get those comments/looks when I go back to workout!
On a related note, my neighbor who has prob never perspired before on purpose saw me the other day and told me that I look "SO DIFFERENT" and omg she didn't "EVEN RECOGNIZE" me. And I know it was a dig at the weight. She doesn't know that I am expecting but ...gah people suck. Honestly, in my case this baby is a total miracle and I know that I will get back to my old shape, so I am not even sweating it
@rms924 I had totally intended to be one of those women but not shove it in everybody's face. Didn't happen, I'm over it. Also your neighbor sounds annoying
@bcashaw I've totally vented about her in another thread haha she is annoying
I totally hear you- I wanted to be one of those women too but seriously not annoy everyone w it. My friend is awesome about it. She never felt sick during her pregnancies and actually had a ton of extra energy so she always brushed it off when I complimented her on working out. It's all about how you feel.
