Any new symptoms or changes or cravings? Ankle swelling has begun.

Rants/Raves/Questions? DH and I finally found time to register. And he was super supportive of the colors I picked. I thought he would say "that looks like a boy" but everything went smoothly. And Babies R Us is expensive!

GTKY: What is your favorite date night restaurant? I really like non-chain restaurants. Unfortunately we don't have many where we live. I loved going to the Melting Pot when I lived in OH. (I know it's a chain but it's not "everywhere.") Locally I would have to say Pies'n'Pints, a craft beer and specialty pizza place.

Any new symptoms or changes or cravings? I haven't really wanted sweets this whole time (except chocolate ice cream), but I've been hardcore craving baked goods lately. I'm going to make cookies today, hopefully that'll ease the craving. Also, baby kicks are starting to get stronger.

GTKY: What is your favorite date night restaurant? Usually either a good sushi place, hibachi food, or this little local Irish pub that's our go-to when we can't decide what else we want.

Any new symptoms or changes or cravings? I had been craving Olive Garden salad and breadsticks for weeks now. Finally went last night!

Rants/Raves/Questions? I think I'm getting the glucose screening done at my next check-in. Is there anything I need to do to prepare?

GTKY: What is your favorite date night restaurant? We have so many good restaurants near us. Our 3 favorite local spots are a French place, a Mediterranean restaurant and a sushi place - all upscale and serve delicious cocktails. If we're in the city, we love Pisticci in Morningside Heights and Sevilla in the Village.

@thinkpositive2017 For my glucose screening I was told not to eat or drink anything sweet the day before. Then of course that morning don't eat or drink anything! Gum, mints, etc.

Thanks, @dogdisnylovr! I was wondering if what you ate the days leading up to the test made a difference! I think I need to call my doctor to get more information about the test. I read online not to eat anything before a glucose tolerance test, but that you should eat a non-sugary breakfast before the glucose screening. That's where I got confused.

@thinkpositive2017 From what I can tell, different doctor's will give you different instructions. I was told no food or drink except water the morning of the 1 hour, but another pregnant woman at my work was told to eat breakfast, but to make sure it wasn't sugary.

This. I was originally told by my NP to fast, but my actual doctor told me to eat breakfast, just avoid anything sugary, and I was even allowed to take sips of water during the test. Definitely ask your doctor what their guidelines are before going, it would be miserable to fast if you didn't have to.

@thinkpositive2017 As others said, definitely check your doctor's guidelines. I suspect they look at the tests differently depending in you are or not based on how the lab techs have inputted my info. I have read that food you're eating the days before the rest can impact it... But at the same time I wouldn't change your habits that much... I think if there is GD or an intolerance it is much better to know then to potentially pass a test you wouldn't usually. That said, there have been lots of women in here who failed the one hour but passed the three hour, myself included. Good luck! I have to take it again at the beginning of June which I'm not looking forward to just because the drink is gross and I'll have to take off a decent chunk of time for the three hour test (my doctor already said I'm taking the longer test again).

I am trying to avoid that 3 hour test, but it's definitely better to know about any issues!

GTKY: What is your favorite date night restaurant?
A local Lebanese/Mediterranean restaurant in my town called Bennies. It's really unique and everything is made fresh with the best ingredients. So freaking delicious -- their hummus is out of this world. We've been going at least once a month since I've been pregnant.

Nope! I'm still waiting for my regular doctor to call about the ultrasound I had at MFM, but the doctor there went over results. I do have a chiropractor appointment scheduled for tomorrow!

Any new symptoms or changes or cravings?
Hello movement! I've been feeling him at least a day for about 4-5 weeks but he's definitely picked up the pace and intensity the last 3 days. Also my back is not happy.

Rants/Raves/Questions?
My stepson took first place in the 100m dash at his first track meet running it! He's a 6th grader which is when track starts here as an extra curricular. He also took 2nd in long jump. AND he got mid-quarter grades this week and has only one B, the rest are As. I'm just incredibly proud of him. It makes me so happy to see him thriving.

GTKY: What is your favorite date night restaurant?
There's a local Indian restaurant we've been loving downtown...and we often just go to a diner with lots of coffee and pie.

Lower back pain is pretty much always there and is worse depending on how I slept the night before.

GTKY: What is your favorite date night restaurant?
There are 2 places we pretty much always go to nowadays for date nights: our local sushi place which is incredible and a local Mexican place that's like an institution around here. It's SO cheap. DH and I can go, have 2 margaritas each, share an appetizer, and each get our own entree (which are so big that there's enough for us to each have lunch the next day), for around $45 including tax and tip. I love cheap date nights with amazing food!

@thinkpositive2017 You can buy Olive Garden salad dressing at Walmart! I stock up on that stuff and use it for salads, baked chicken, marinade, you name it! Unfortunately I haven't been able to find a breadstick that can hold up to Olive Garden's.

Had my OB/Wellness check on Monday. All is well with baby!

Any new symptoms or changes or cravings?

Back is sore, but that's expected. Heart has been a little more erratic than the last pregnancy. My PCP found a heart murmur so he told me to take easy but it would probably go away once baby is born.

Rants/Raves/Questions?
Nothing really. Just want to say PLEASE TAKE CARE OF YOUR TEETH. I had a hidden cavity for God knows how long that my dentist missed, by the time they caught it it was an emergency. The filling got infected and now I need a root canal

. This should be fun given you can't have any anesthesia while pregnant.
GTKY: What is your favorite date night restaurant?
I WANT to eat cheesecake factory every day, but its too far away. So as of late we've been trying to eat a variety of things. I tend to get bored easily of food these days. I always get this way. I rarely crave stuff, I mostly just want to deter from a lot of stuff.

A little minor swelling in my feet this week but other than that just the same old heartburn, back/hip pain, and the occasional headache.

I LOVE shopping for little girl clothes. I'm trying to show some self control and take it easy because I know she will get a ton of clothes from other people but sometimes the outfits are too cute to not buy.

We've been trying a lot of new things lately because I just haven't felt like eating at any of our usual spots, but Mexican is always a go-to or this cute little family owned italian restaurant right near our house.

I also found a recipe for the dressing years ago. I can't remember where I found it but I have it written down in my emails. It's soooo delish and pretty close to the actual thing.

Olive Garden Salad Dressing Recipe (inside spoiler box):

Ingredients:
1 packet Good Seasonings Italian Dressing
(Ingredients needed to make dressing; oil, water, vinegar)
½ tsp. dried Italian Seasoning
½ tsp. table salt
¼ tsp. black pepper
½ tsp. sugar
¼ tsp. garlic powder
½ tbsp. mayonnaise (no Miracle Whip, please)
¼ cup olive oil
2 tbs. white vinegar
1 ½ tbs. water
Directions:
Prepare Good Seasonings Italian Seasonings Dressing as it states on back of package. Once prepared pour it in a medium bowl, then add additional ingredients listed above (starting with dried Italian Seasoning).
Using a whisk, mix all ingredients until mixed thoroughly combined. Serve with your favorite salad fixings.
Store unused dressing in a sealed container in the refrigerator for up to 4 weeks. Be sure to give the bottle a good shake before using.

Any upcoming appointments this week? I had an ultrasound yesterday to finish getting some shots of baby b they were unable to get at my 19wk a/s. Then an appt with midwife after where my humongous uterus is measuring 31 weeks. Nothing until June now.

We haven't been out on a date night in a long time. We live 6 hours away from family and sitters are hard to come by. But, when we go out with or without DS, Thai is always my go-to. I've recently started randomly vomiting, not a clue if its pregnancy related or not. HEADACHES!

Rant: I have been having a seriously hard time staying hydrated. I try so hard, I cannot imagine drinking more water. But I get dehydrated which brings on a migraine, which causes nausea and vomiting which causes dehydration..... and on top of that I am battling a fever and sinus infection.

Pretty much just any non-chain Italian place by us, and there are quite a few. DH loves steak houses, and we both enjoy going out for Seafood.

Any new symptoms or changes or cravings? nothing new...he's still kicking, I'm still snotty and congested and unable to sleep from 3:00-5:00 most nights with hip pain. though my bump is getting more obvious, so I've had coworkers who I'm not close to and aren't included in the email list that was sent out mentioning that I'd be on mat leave next year come up to me and ask if I'm pregnant. The kids at school are also starting to ask - I'm surprised it took this long for the kids to ask lol, but I'm not surprised adults didn't ask until now.

Rants/Raves/Questions? it's our 5th anniversary today! we're partying it up all weekend...cake, pizza, fruit sodas..pretty much a kid's bday party type of foods

GTKY: What is your favorite date night restaurant? oh man, right now I'm craving greasy, thick crust, American pepperoni pizza (hence the anniversary menu lol) BUT I will think back to when I'm not pregnant and say that we don't go out a lot (a couple times a year, maybe). When we lived in Egypt and eating out was almost dirt cheap, we went out around once a week. We had two favourite places: a chinese restaurant (soooo good...oh man, i want that food right now) and a lebanese restaurant.

I have been a little worried that I haven't felt him moving around that much. Also, that they have so much trouble finding his heart beat when I go to the doctor. But, I found out Wed. that I have an anterior placenta, so that explains a lot.

Any new symptoms or changes or cravings? Nausea came back this week, and I'm incredibly unhappy about it.

Rants/Raves/Questions? I had a lot of anxiety this week, which isn't normal for me. Some of it is work related, but I think my hormones are putting it at a much higher level than normal. Please go away, and take the nausea with you.

Any new symptoms or changes or cravings? Tuesday was a scary day when I had some bleeding. Fortunately everything looked fine when I had an ultrasound and it's likely my low placenta caused the bleeding. It looks like the placenta is starting to move away from the cervix, so hopefully it will continue to do that and I won't have anymore bleeding.

Also felt baby have hiccups for the first time this week and now it's been 3 days in a row he's had them. What a weird feeling!

Rants/Raves/Questions? My short cervix has been continually getting longer since I've been on progesterone for 5 weeks. It's nice to see things moving in the right direction!

GTKY: What is your favorite date night restaurant? I have a lot of favorite places, but top choices would probably be a little Italian place in our town that has creative and delicious dishes. Yum!

Any new symptoms or changes or cravings? nothing new... HG flared up this week again. Had lots of vomiting after dinner. Just really increased my water. It's probably the heat down here that's getting to me. I still always want bacon!

Rants/Raves/Questions? shockingly nothing sassy or exciting to say... just ready for school to be out!

GTKY: What is your favorite date night restaurant? when we lived in Central IL it was this local restaurant that we adored! They served the best scallops and horseshoes! But we've not been on a date night since September 2016. We spent a lot of time apart living in two states... when we were reunited (ahem...) we got pregnant. And I haven't felt much like finding a sitter and going out leaving DD with someone I barely know. So! We go out together as a family a lot. My favorite food is seafood so where ever I can get some of that. This pregnancy I've been loving on some Joe's Crab Shack!

I don't think I have had any quality sleep all week and it's not fun.

Loving my new job so much. I was initially questioning if they actually knew I was pregnant because nobody has made a big deal of it which is just amazing! My boss casually acknowledged it yesterday so I was relieved and just super glad that everyone is acting normal!

Rants/Raves/Questions? My appetite has kicked into overdrive. I ate my my whole sandwich, a small bag of chips, and half my brownie but I wanted more. I would normally eat only half the sandwich and take the other half to go. I was so tempted to order another sandwich this time though.

GTKY: What is your favorite date night restaurant? Any place with DH is my favorite. I'm not too picky with food.

headaches were in full force the last few days, gas and that's about it. Still throwing up a few mornings a week, but nothing major!

I was just thinking today, when should/is it safe to start doing things to increase your milk supply. Breastfeeding this little one at first is super important to me because my DS had allergies/intolerances to milk and soy sooo formula! I want to start out on the right foot this time around and obviously will be cutting these items prior to delivery but I want a good supply so I can stay ahead of the game.

Mexican is always on the top of the list here! I can't live without gaucomole!
