This thread is for those who have started TTC but are now TTA or Benched. If you have BOTB, please consider participating on that board and/or creating a separate BOTB-check-in. While
we value all members of the community and enjoy helping others learn
before they're TTGP, recent discussions have shown that the influx of
BOTB-members posting on this thread have driven out the members for whom
the thread is actually intended. Please respect that development.
***General TW that this thread can and will mention MC and loss.***
This is a place for those of us who have already started TTC, but have hit a roadblock and are delaying for whatever reason. You
can express your thoughts, feelings, and frustrations on not TTC and
connect with others who are in the same boat. TTC can be a long journey,
and having to wait makes it feel even longer -- even if it is for a
good reason. I invite you to resurrect this thread at any point in the
week if you have something to say. Treat this like an ongoing
conversation.
Benched = involuntarily not NTNP/TTC and "out of the game," usually due to medical reasons
TTA
= avoiding pregnancy by using protection or FAM, usually for
non-health-related reasons

What brings you here? still emotionally recovering from MC in March
How long do you think you'll be here? Meh, kinda waiting to see how I feel
How have things been going? Pretty good lately! I convinced DH to get dressed up and go to a fancy fundraiser with me on Saturday night, which ended up being really fun. And yesterday I took myself to a baseball game and had beer and a corn dog 'cause TREAT YO' SELF.
Any R/R/CS/Q? Rant: The horrible terrible no good OBGYN robocalled and left a voicemail to tell me I'm due for an annual exam. UMMM NO THANK YOU YOU'RE HORRIBLE I'M NEVER COMING BACK THERE AGAIN KTHANXBAI!
GTKY: Do you prefer gorgeous sunrises or epic sunsets? I'm gonna say sunsets, because I'm rarely awake and outside for sunrise. But I can see how watching sunrise in my jammies with a cup of coffee would be amazing.
How long do you think you'll be here? Until July, as long as all goes well
How have things been going? Thanks for the nudge, @BusinessWife. (How have you been doing? I hope all goes well next month!) I've been sort of meh with all my
foot issues and learning I have nerve pain that could take months/years
to heal, but luckily it shouldn't have any impact on IVF.Physical therapy is going well and I get to start acupuncture this weekend. It sort of keeps my mind off of waiting for this summer, but if I get diagnosed with one more injury/syndrome, I'm going to go nuts!
Any R/R/CS/Q? @msmeeseeks -- run away from that OBGYN! run! run! The fancy fundraiser sounds excellent!Rave for my super-supportive co-workers and boss who gave me a "change of workstation" last week so that I could work from home and rest my foot, meaning I didn't have to use any more sick days!
GTKY: Do you prefer gorgeous sunrises or epic sunsets? Nothing beats those epic Hawaiian sunsets!

NP, girl! @AlohaKumu All this waiting and healing and wondering can really be a drag. At least we're not alone in it! (((Hugs)))
@msmeeseeks lol that darn computer call!!! Noooooo!!! One of these days I guess they are gonna get a breakup call? Lol. Once that happens we'll know if we can move forward with ivf... or if we have to come up with another gameplan alltogether. :/

How have things been going? Rough kinda. What brings you here? Getting my thyroid figured out
How long do you think you'll be here? Right now I have no idea. I need to cal the thyroid specialist today, and it all depends on how fast I can get in and get my TSH a lot lower. Realistically, mid-June at least.
How have things been going? Not good, so far. I was just benched yesterday though, so I think I just need time to adjust.
Any R/R/CS/Q? It's teacher appreciation week, so yesterday and today there were small gifts for me when I got in. That's helped to brighten my day a little!
GTKY: Do you prefer gorgeous sunrises or epic sunsets? Both are pretty awesome, but sunsets are much easier to be awake for. And it's much more socially acceptable to enjoy a sunset with a glass of wine
@msmeeseeks Yeah, that OBGYN did not sound good. I once had an OBGYN mail me a letter to cancel an appointment I had, and when I opened it there was another patient's name on there. I don't know why your robocall made me think of that.
@AlohaKumu Sorry about all of your foot issues! That's pretty awesome that you're able to work from home and get some rest though!
I'm trying to convince him to visit for our first wedding anniversary next month, but it that doesn't happen at least through August
How have things been going?
Okay. Work has been stressing me out like crazy but in otherwise okay.
Any R/R/CS/Q?
My period was annoyingly late this month (probably due to work stress), but it did push my projected June FW over my anniversary weekend, so that's good. GTKY: Do you prefer gorgeous sunrises or epic sunsets?
Sunsets. DH and I were in the Bois Jacques (where Easy Company fought during the Battle of the Bulge) on the last night of our honeymoon and we saw the most amazing sunset through the pines. It was awesome.
Me: 28 DH: 29 Married: 6/2016 TTC #1: 12/2016 Benched due to deployment- Off the bench 8/8/17!
Can I temporarily play both teams? Are you benched or TTA? Benched until Thursday
What brings you here? Waiting for results to see if I have fibroids, which I'm still annoyed about. Ultrasound was dumb, and tech confirmed that if I had fibroids in Sept they would've been able to see them on the ultrasound then and I did NOT have them. So. If I have them I'll be annoyed, but if I don't have them I'm going to be REALLY annoyed.
How long do you think you'll be here? Until Thursday if no fibroids (or I mean, I guess they could discover something worse. Part of me is like, oh man, they're going to tell me I'm dying of uterus cancer, lol.)
How have things been going? Fine, it's finals week for my graphic design classes, which is mostly fun except for my history of graphic design class which has, like, an actual test, which I'm avoiding and thus am SUPER BORED.
Any R/R/CS/Q? no unless you want to hear me rant about how stupid it is to make people fill up their bladders before ultrasounds again
GTKY: Do you prefer gorgeous sunrises or epic sunsets? Sunsets. Sunrises mean you have to be awake at sunrise time, and who wants that? Most gorgeous sunset I've seen is in Oia in Santorini. TAKE ME BACK!!
I GOT THE OFFER!!!!!!! I have to do more paperwork blah blah, but I start by the end of the month with coverage effective July 1st!!!! Thanks you guys for all your encouragement!!! ❤

Thank you ladies! @AlohaKumu @adirat @heatherdubrow I think it is still sinking in over here... like holy crap, maybe, just maybe, this could actually happen!?!! We won't know of course till his procedure tho if they are going to even find sperm. So I will try to take it one step at a time and not project too far out onto the future... today - I still have work to do! Lol
I'm so excited for you!!!! I know that you don't want to get too excited about the coverage until after YH's procedure next month, but remember that a step forward is a step forward no matter how small or the uncertainty of it.
Thank you! @Cricket648 @KariAnn323 yes. You totally get it. And I mean honestly, DH is more the one who is like, dont even talk to me till we know. Lol
ETA He says he doesn't want to, "ride the rollercoaster," with me, and I don't blame him. So I mean, bless his heart, I think he feels the need to guard it.... :/
