Current joys/successes/or happy thoughts about being a STM: I'm so excited for DD to be a big sister! She has been asking for "little brother or sister" for a while now.

Rants/Raves/Randoms/Questions: I hate waiting for the first appointment...I feel like I'm tapping my foot over here!

GTKY:  What is your favorite TV show right now, or what show are you looking forward to? Oh, there are soooooo many. I LOVE Doctor Who, The Walking Dead, Dancing With the Stars....looking forward to Twin Peaks!

  • @missblaze We may have the same due date, 9 Jan?

    How far along: 4w, 1d

How old are your other kids: DD will be 2 in September

Current challenges: none at the moment.  DD just started sleeping through the night and has almost all her teeth so I'm hopeful this will continue.  U couldn't imagine being pregnant and having to get up all night long!

Happy thoughts etc: Just can't wait to expand our family and create a lifelong friend for DD

RRRQ: none.  No bad symptoms yet so for that I'm thankful!!

GTKY: We are watching Broadchurch on Netflix and it's a bad idea.  TW....

It's about a child who is murdered and they have to catch the killer.  So sad to think that although it's fictional, it does happen in the world.

Current challenges/concerns about being a STM or questions about things your children are going through now?
Well with preschool ending in a few weeks I'm concerned how I'm going to keep the girls entertained while I'm fighting 1st trimester nausea and fatigue.

Current joys/successes/or happy thoughts about being a STM

How far along are you? - 4w0d

How old are your other kids (Share names if you would like)? - DS is 4 (he is a J13er).

Current challenges/concerns about being a STM or questions about things your children are going through now?  - I worry that DS won't adjust well because he'll be 5 by the time we have this LO. And I worry that I won't be able to split my time for both of them.

Current joys/successes/or happy thoughts about being a STM:      I'm super excited to finally be adding to our family, and even though I have some anxiety, I think DS is going to love having a little sibling!

Rants/Raves/Randoms/Questions:    I hate having to wait until almost 8 weeks to be seen! The last 2 pregnancies were covered by an RE and we were seen for betas right away and then at 6w and 8w for ultrasounds!

GTKY:  What is your favorite TV show right now, or what show are you looking forward to?    Goldbergs, fresh off the boat, last man standing, last man on earth!

How far along are you? 4w 1d... another 1/9 EDD @missblaze  and @Livvyloo87

How old are your other kids (Share names if you would like)?
my little girl is 2.5 (N14er)

Current challenges/concerns about being a STM or questions about things your children are going through now?  I'm already worried about how she'll adjust to not being the center of our worlds...and how I'll divide my attention.

Current joys/successes/or happy thoughts about being a STM:  my girl LOVES babies so I know she'll be a great big sister

Rants/Raves/Randoms/Questions: is anyone thinking of involving your older kid(s) when announcing this pregnancy?

GTKY:  What is your favorite TV show right now, or what show are you looking forward to?  I wish I had a good answer for this, but usually my TV shows are of the trashy reality series type. I was just telling DH that we need to find a good show to watch together soon.

    1.0 is 2.5ish (Aug14)

Current challenges/concerns about being a STM or questions about things your children are going through now?  First tri exhaustion was no joke without having a toddler to keep up with. This is going to be long and painful haha

Plus? She was in a massive meltdown yesterday. Kicking and thrashing her entire body as I carried her to the car from the store. I was spotting when we got home. It stopped pretty much immediately, but I have to imagine the straining from carrying her like that was the culprit.

Current joys/successes/or happy thoughts about being a STM:  At dinner last night, I asked her who her best friend is. She told me baby  <3

Rants/Raves/Randoms/Questions:  How do you handle your kiddo when you have to do OB appointments solo? I'm going to go broke getting a sitter every time!

GTKY:  What is your favorite TV show right now, or what show are you looking forward to? I work nights, so I am so out of touch with current TV. I did get 1.0 hooked on Duck Tails though, in anticipation of the reboot!

@missblaze That's so cute that she's been asking for a sibling! When I ask DD if she wants a little brother or sister, she tells me, "No, I'm fine!"

@PhillymommaX2 Phillies fan/local to Philly here, too!

@Eags I was seeing the RE with DD as well. I ended up calling my OB and pushing for the bloodwork. Maybe worth calling if you need some reassurance?

@crizz13 We put DD in a "big sis" shirt when we told our parents. When we tell the rest of the world, I think we are going to take a picture of her reading the book "I'm a big sister"

  • @AnyMax My daughter was 15 months when I got pregnant with my second and she came to almost every appointment. She just had her toys and would sit and watch whatever I was doing. Sometimes I would be holding her or whatever but the midwife was always cool and they are used to it. I'm dreading this summer when ill have 2 kids to take with me until school starts back up. That may require a babysitter!
  • @AnyMax were you on the A14 BMB? My DD's EDD was 8/14/2014 but she ended up coming July 23rd!

  • @AnyMax I always made my appointments at night ( my ob is open until 8). When I was pregnant with DD2, I brought DD1 to one appt and that was a mistake. She was never a calm, chill baby so from that point on I knew I couldn't take her!  But if your kid is calm and easy going in sure you will be fine.

  • How far along are you? Going by LP I am 5 weeks + 1 day… going by suspected O day, two or so days less.

How old are your other kids (Share names if you would like)?
DD Emily is 19 months old, which is such a great age!

Current challenges/concerns about being a STM or questions about things your children are going through now?  Hard to think of any concerns because I am just so grateful that this might happen… my only concern now, naturally, is the viability and health of this LO.

Current joys/successes/or happy thoughts about being a STM: I have visions of our lives two or three years from now and they are just wonderful… vacations, errands, activities. I loved my childhood with my brothers, and I cannot wait to see Emily and LO enjoy their own.

Rants/Raves/Randoms/Questions: Can it be May 17th (day of my doctor appointment) already?

GTKY:  What is your favorite TV show right now, or what show are you looking forward to? Where do I start? Loving The Leftovers and Better Call Saul and Silicon Valley right now… but Bravo is putting out some gems as well! Naturally I’m looking forward to Game of Thrones

@missblaze Totally agree with your rant. I am just counting down the days… I can finally say “less than two weeks.” UGH! And OMG I cannot wait for Twin Peaks!

@Livvyloo87 My DD will be 2 in September as well!

@PhillymommaX2 I’ve heard great things about Bloodline! Also excited for House of Cards.

@Eags  I quite honestly do not know if I could wait until 8 weeks. I’m struggling waiting until 7.

@crizz13 Haven’t thought much about announcing this one yet, but if we do, it will definitely involve DD (and also my dog, lol). And no shame in trashy reality tv!

@AnyMax OMG that is too cute—baby is her best friend!

@AnyMax I called she said no. ETA: it cut off the rest of it. Weird. Anyway she said no. She wasn't my OB at the time I was referred to an RE so maybe that plays into it. I'm trying to relax and enjoy the fact that we actually got pg "naturally" and all the things that go with it. It's not easy!

  • @crizz13 we haven't really talked too much about announcing yet, but we may do our social media announcement on DD's 1st birthday and put her in a "big sister" shirt or something.

How far along are you? I *think* 3+6. EDD according to me is 1/12.

How old are your other kids (Share names if you would like)?
Emmalyn is 10 months old. I was on the July 16 BMB but delivered end of June due to some BP concerns.

Current challenges/concerns about being a STM or questions about things your children are going through now?  DD is NOT a good sleeper (we are still up 2-3 times a night) and hardly takes naps. Not sure what I'm going to do once 1st tri exhaustion hits! She's also probably going to be walking in the next few months and that terrifies me. She also has no teeth yet. She's a hot mess.

Current joys/successes/or happy thoughts about being a STM: I love when she learns something new about herself or the world. I can't wait to do it again with this little one!

Rants/Raves/Randoms/Questions: I'm considering botching my dates so I can go in for a urine test at the clinic earlier. Otherwise I have to wait another 2 weeks.

GTKY:  What is your favorite TV show right now, or what show are you looking forward to? I just started Call the Midwife on Netflix and I love it! Otherwise, I watch DWTS, Grey's Anatomy and (guilty pleasure) Reign. So sad New Girl is already over for the year!
  • @EmilyLove25 How good is the age right now? So much personality but not too much defiance!!! Can't wait for DD to have a wee playmate!

Were you in the Sep BMB? I was but didn't participate too much.

How far along are you? 4 weeks, 4 days

How old are your other kids (Share names if you would like)? DS1 (Jonathan) 3.5 and DS2 (Andrew) 15 mo.

Current challenges/concerns about being a STM or questions about things your children are going through now?  We need to potty train the oldest, which I’m not looking forward to.  They play together which is the actual best, but they’re fearless little boys who run/jump/climb on everything (like over my fence and into the neighbor’s yard!) so it’s A LOT of supervision.  Not looking forward to chasing after them while super pregnant lol.

Current joys/successes/or happy thoughts about being a STM: I’m just so excited, I love watching my two boys play together now and I can’t wait to add a third!

    Rants/Raves/Randoms/Questions: Nothing at the moment

GTKY:  What is your favorite TV show right now, or what show are you looking forward to? We’re loving Veep and Silicon Valley on HBO

@Phillymommax2 I’m a little worried about preschool ending for the summer too.  We’re all going to have to share our best tips and tricks!

@crizz13 I’ll definitely be involving the older boys in the announcement; I just haven’t decided quite how yet.  Last time I dressed Jonathan in a superhero costume and wrote “Every superhero needs a sidekick.  Coming January 2016!” It was so cute!

@EmilyLove25 19 mo is such a fun age! My pediatrician jokes that once kids hit 18 months the parents almost get knocked up again, because they start getting so fun!

@schaze, my youngest still gets up once a night around 4 am, even that is brutal!

How old are your other kids (Share names if you would like)?
Julian will be 2 next week!

Current challenges/concerns about being a STM or questions about things your children are going through now?  Honestly, I'm worried about being a good mom once the nausea kicks in. I work from home and so I almost always get up with DS first thing in the morning to make sure he is ready for school, etc. while my husband gets a shower. I know it will be a challenge. Maybe DH will have a new responsibility :)

Current joys/successes/or happy thoughts about being a STM: I'm excited for DS to be a big brother. Also, I can't wait for newborn snuggles.

Rants/Raves/Randoms/Questions:  How am I going to keep this pregnancy under wraps next weekend? We are having a big family birthday party for DS and I know my MIL is going to be watching my every move in hopes that I am pregnant again. They also know how much I like wine and will find it suspicious if I don't have any. Otherwise, no future plans to see family again until we will be ready to spill the news.

GTKY:  What is your favorite TV show right now, or what show are you looking forward to? I am currently looking for my next binge. I also am a nerd and love Dateline/48 hours. Just started watching Little People Big World again this week.

  • @jakobaby I'm also thinking of how to keep this from my ILs for the next few weeks. I'm a wine lover too and we're at their place every Sunday for dinner always with a glass of wine. DH is in charge of drinking my glass- we did it last time and no one noticed, but they may catch on this time!
  • @jakobaby and @schaze I found out I was pregnant around Christmastime with my last pregnancy and I'm a huge wine drinker. We weren't ready to tell at that point so I carried around juice. I drink red wine and I found that berry juices worked well.

It's funny, I don't feel anything really yet this time around, but also feel a lot if that makes sense... I've been much more in tune with my body since having DD but I'm also not convinced anything I'm feeling (twinges, cramps, etc) is a true pregnancy symptom.

I'm quite nervous about how he's going to cope with everything. He's not great with change, and we'll have a nearly 5 yr age gap.

Current joys/successes/or happy thoughts about being a STM
A few months ago we had a problem with him running around telling everyone (including my parents and people at church) that he was going to be a big brother. I was not pregnant nor were we TTC. I know he's going to be ecstatic when we finally tell him.
