What's grinding your gears today?

Re: Monday Bitchfest 5/8

  • My daughter's sick and clingy, my husband's in a bitchy mood, and I've thrown up 3 times so far this morning. I need a break! Luckily, my son is engrossed with Mickey Mouse Clubhouse.

  • We built a brand new house and moved in in August... We had a shower leak they "fixed" and now discovered mold because they completely half assed it.  So tomorrow they begin the process of taking out all of the kitchen cabinets, backsplash, base board, wall and ceiling.  So angry.

So I threw up at work for the first time, then promptly decided on McDonald's for lunch.....what is wrong with me?? And the diet coke was probably the best thing I've tasted in weeks, and I'm not even really a soda drinker!
@tamaraaaa  I am so right there with you!  We bought our house in January and are up to our necks in termite/water damage that was never disclosed or found in the inspection.  All our kitchen cabinets were pulled off today to install a french drain....no kitchen for at least two weeks...not that I've been doing much cooking these days.  Just so crazy on top of this pregnancy stuff!
    @peachy13   That is so terrible!!

@babytime24 I love Diet Coke. Especially McDonald's Diet Coke. But when I'm pregnant it becomes so sweet I can't handle it.  :'(

  • @dkizz82  Totally!  I've been anti-sweets lately, so I was surprised how much I loved it!
  • Omg @tamaraaaa I would KILL someone. Fuck that SUUUUUUUUCKS.
  • I love Mcdonalds when I have morning sickness. I think it's because the food is bland?
  • @jlemons-2 McDonald's, Burger King, and subway are the only things LO will let me eat right now. Otherwise it's sooooo bad!
  • DH fired up the grill this weekend as we had some friends over and I was so excited for hotdogs and hamburgers! Only when everyone started loading up their plates the smell was so strong and so terrible I was immediately sick. DH always makes enough to feed an army so he and my step daughter have been reheating them to eat for 2 days now and I have to hide in my room with fans on or it is vomit city for me. I just want it out of my house!

Today absolutely sucks!  Last night I was up for a good 2 hours (an hour-an hour and a half on the bathroom floor).  Today I have hugged the toilet for a good 3-4 times and can't seem to keep anything down.  I have tried saltines and eating small light meals (mostly been eating fruit) and nothing is seeming to help today.  I go to the doctor for the first time next Monday.  As of right now, we believe that I am in my 7th week.  When does this nausea subside?  Anybody have an idea for what week is the worse?
  • Add me to the list of loving McDonald's. It's one of the few things that hasn't made me sick yet!

@jperk3 most people have relief around 14 weeks. It's said to peak at 9 weeks. I was one of the unlucky ones that had it bad through. Y second trimester and on and off until I delivered. That was on Zofran.
    I am
currently on diclegis. It makes me not vomit but I'm still soooo sick.

@bethk1993 subway was all I wanted last pregnancy. I had it weekly. Sometimes several times a week. I've wanted it this pregnancy but for some odd reason I'm been scared this time. It's so weird for me. It didn't bother me at all the first time.

For me, last pregnancy, week 9 was the worst, and it was pretty much over by week 12. But, some ladies have MS the whole pregnancy. Hopefully you're among the lucky ones for whom it really is a 1st trimester thing. If it stays that bad, your doc can write you a script for anti-nausea meds. In the meantime B6 + unisom (at least at night) should help. It's been mentioned that there are two types of unisom--I believe you want the one that is not the same drug as benadryl.

  • You guys are talking about McDonalds and I'm over here craving Taco Bell, especially their fries supreme (no meat), but I'd get a taco to go with it!
Taco Bell has fries on the menu? I haven't been to one since high school--it was my brother's fave fast food, so I went with him sometimes. I think the only thing I ever ate were the cinnamon crispy things. TB always grossed me out.

@moonlady-2  I literally just said the same thing to my husband! I feel like my exhaustion is taking over, and I'm not my normal self for the kiddos.  :|

@dkizz82  You're making me feel so much better about my lunch choice!  :D
  • @babytime24 Glad I'm not the only one! My patience is shot for sure.

One of my coworkers showed up to work with 102 fever and of course got me sick - so I've had a sore throat, headache, stuffy nose on top of terrible nausea all weekend. That's what you have sick days for dumbass! Grrr. Also the only things I can manage to eat right now are saltines and peanut butter puffins which means my husband gets to eat my favorite hummus that I bought for myself, and I miss my Friday night beers! But I know this will all be worth it...
  • Yea I keep craving spicy food then hating my entire life when I eat it lol.. I was fine on fruit and Italian ice and yogurt in the am. Now I'm up with upset stomach and nausea all by my own making
  • Turns out this baby doesn't like spicy or greasy food! Last pregnancy I had no issues at all! 3 out of the 4 nights I have been nauseous and had a horrible stomach ache! I am hoping this means this baby is a girl since my last one was a boy!
  • @dkizz82 @dilbert890 my pregnancy with the twins was the Taco Bell pregnancy. Allll the time.

This pregnancy is different from my last in every way. With the twins it was easy breezy (other than being huge and uncomfortable halfway through) but no MS, no symptoms. This time.... everything. Super sniffer, nausea and vomiting, already bloating etc etc. I'm hoping it means it's a girl since it's so different from my last.
  • I'm supposed to make 3 more dresses for some of my skaters. However, I have to meet them at an ice rink an hour away from where I normally do my fittings, at an ungodly hour. Apparently my new policy of "I no longer make house calls" means that meeting them at their rink is ok... Ugh. I wish all my clients could be as amazing as my favorite skater and her mom. They have driven the hour to meet me at my house for all three dresses Ive made her, 2 while pregnant with my 1st, and the one I just finished last month.

On another note, y'all talking about McDonalds and Taco Bell has made me put on real pants and I'm about to go grab me an ice cream cone....

jperk3 I'm at 10wks right now and week 7 was definitely my worst so far in terms of fatigue and morning sickness. I'm still dealing with it but its not nearly as bad anymore. My doctor had me start 12.5ml of Unisom every night and 25ml of b6 3x/day and that seems to take the edge off the morning sickness and make life somewhat bearable. I hope you start feeling better soon!

Some days it is. Lol. One of the three clients I have right now JUST changed her music, so now I have to stop drawing the pattern for her dress until we figure out a new design. Thats ok. It allows me to make the other two even more fabulous :)

  • My DH just started a new job, which is fantastic, and the pay is better than his previous one, but he's working 1pm-10pm Sun-Thurs. We were tag teaming taking the kids to activities and making dinner, and now it's all on me. DS has karate Mon & Wed at 6:30 and DD has gymnastics Tues at 6:30. I'm just worn out! I work a normal 8-5, get home,  breathe (maybe), then straight back out, back home to throw something together for dinner hopefully before 8pm.

No lie, they are having frozen dinners tonight bc I just can't. I know his schedule won't be like this forever, but I'm so over the first trimester fatigue already.
  • Ugh @KathrynJ088 is there anyone that can help or mom they can carpool some days with? The logistics sound real tough esp first trimester tired
  • @jackiesmom324 not really. My DH's family either work random hours or have LO of their own. My parents also work evening/overnight shifts, and we've only lived in this town for about a year, so I'm not real close with any of the neighbors.

The only thing getting me through is counting down the days until the first trimester is over. No idea how this is all going to work once the twins arrive!
  • @KathrynJ088 I believe in you!! Also wouldn't blame you for letting a baby sitter help out when your wiped out  :#
  • @cait5413 yep they have fries on the menu - the same fries as KFC!
@bethk1993 I hope this isn't a sign I'm having twins haha! Although that wouldn't be the worst thing :)
@sdLindenberg I hope the ice cream was good! I wanted an ice cream cone the other day.

I found week 6 was the worst for tiredness, soreness.. maybe it was because I finally took a test and stopped being stubborn about being pregnant vs just late. I also haven't seen my doctor yet, maybe my calculation is off... can't wait to see what week 8 brings!
