I work with athletic teams at a university in the academic department where I teach... the assistant baseball coach asked me to come up tomorrow to meet with a recruit for 15 minutes. Y'all it is a ONE hour drive for me to get here... :'(

Oh that sucks! And it can't be via Skype or FaceTime?
I work part time for a D1/FBS university's athletic department, too, and anytime we have a recruit come in and I'm there, I'm always stopped to talk. I could be with another student and they'll stop me. So annoying.
Our little Red Raider is here and another is on its way!
While we are on work... I got told today that over time is in my future. I haven't told anyone at work I'm knocked up and my boss just quit so I'm now the most senior position in my dept and they are relying on me to keep us a afloat. I'm terrified that the baby news is going to be a death sentence to my career. I have worked so hard to prove myself and move up and now that it's happening I have to leave to have a baby! Ahh don't get me wrong, I already love the sprinkle more than anything.. just wish I felt more secure with being able to have it all.
@Baby_is_coming oh man, that's a lot. Though I think the fact that they're relying on you so heavily now is a good sign and shows they value you! Do you work in an industry where you need to stop working early or will you be there up until the baby comes?

@KatieEl not necessarily.. actually they have a bring your baby to work policy which is cool but not realistic in getting anything done. I just work on a really small team so when one of us is missing, we feel it. If I could work on maternity leave I probably would to help ease the load when I come back.
@tsuredraider FSB is the worst! We are D1 too but our hockey team is better historically... but the current head FB coach fancies himself the next Nick Saban... so we all have to bend over backwards for him and his previous recruits
