Hey all- it's my last week posting here, crazy! Thank you @JWatt5 for taking over.
This is a weekly check-in for those in their 2nd trimester: weeks 14 through the end of week 27.
Congrats to all the strong ladies who have made it this far! It's such a great feeling and we've all accomplished so much! We are now 1 week closer to the end of this especially long journey we call "infertility."
Please post below a little about yourself, how many beans you have growing inside, if you have found out the sex(es) and what your EDD is. Please also let us know how far you've made it on your journey and when your next appointment is and what for. If I'm missing anyone from this list, or you are new to the 2nd tri, please let me know and I will add you.
Please let us know when you have graduated to 3rd trimester so that I can update our list!
Happy Monday and Hi Ladies!! @byrneme Congrats on moving on to the 3rd trimester and congrats on being one step closer to meeting your little surprise
I am so excited to be joining you all here in the 2nd trimester and my EDD is 10/26 with one little bean! It feels so amazing to have made it this far and I hope that I can keep on growing this little baby until its time to meet them this October. We haven't found out the gender yet but we are going for an elective scan either this week or next and I can't wait to find out if we have a little he or she. I am excited to get to know you ladies more as we bump along

Hi. I'm new to 2nd tri. I'm 14 weeks tommorw with a due date of 10/31. I'm pregnant with twins. We know that 1 of em is a boy. The other is still unknown. I also have a 2yr old dd. We used donor eggs for all our babies. I'm definitely happy to be here now!
I have an appt on Thursday to check the cervical length.
QOTW: When I was pg with dd, we took a cpr class, a birthing class, and a newborn class (where they go over some of the basics of taking care of a newborn). With these babies, I think we'll go to the local free classes at babies r us for a refresher. Otherwise, I don't really see the need.
@emgem819 - Congrats!! I must have missed the announcement that you are having 2 girls!
@ChocolateIsLife - Congrats!! I must have missed your announcement too!
Hi @Joslynj11 and @hopeby2015 - welcome both of you to 2nd trimester!!! Very exciting!
I'm 22 weeks with baby boy, "Beau William", due start of Sept. We had our anatomy scan last week and everything looks great. His limbs were measuring more than a week ahead (no surprise since I'm 6' and Eric is 6'8). I've been feeling him kicking/moving like crazy for weeks now but yesterday and today he's been lazy I suppose so I've had to coax him into moving to ease my mind. I even pulled out my doppler to check for HB, he had me so worried. I guess the worrying never stops after going through IF.
Otherwise my back is KILLING me. I'm a huge back sleeper so adjusting to trying to sleep on my sides is proving not fun. I'm assuming that's what it is at least, although they say in 2nd trimester the backaches start so who knows.
QOTW: Eric and I are registered in The Bradley Method class which is a 12 week program suggested by our Doula. Apparently ppl who take it experience far smoother birth processes... who knows if that's true but willing to give it a shot haha. We may also take a breastfeeding class, and newborn care class. Time seems to be quickly slipping away but hopefully we can manage it all.

I'm 19 weeks today with a little boy, due 9/25. However, baby boy is measuring ahead in all areas, some more than others. His legs were a week ahead two weeks ago. I pray this means he will be tall like DH since I'm 5'1 on a good day. We like the name Alexander, but since I teach, I don't know if that name will stick since I have 3 Alexanders this semester. May 9 is the next OB appointment. May 11 is when DH and I go on our baby moon to Gatlinburg. I'm wanting to do a little hiking, but DH is afraid it will be too much for me. We will see.
QOTW: I want to do the free classes at Babies R Us, like the breastfeeding class, and there are a couple of newborn parenting classes offered through the hospital that I want us to take. I think these will help alleviate some of my concerns and DH's.

Hi everyone! 25w1d with our little boy - Lots of movement from him lately. I was going to get the glucose test over with Saturday but we ended up going out of town so I'll do it this week (just have to do it in the 25th week dr. said). I'm feeling relatively "normal". Once in awhile I'll get a little tingly/numbness in my hands and toes but really not bad.
I think May is going to be a great month - we've gotten our major baby purchases out of the way now, registry for the rest is complete. Prenatal classes are this month, my last appt with the family doctor is next week before going to my OB full time. It's my birthday month which is fun and the May long weekend at the cottage is always my favourite. The first weekend in June we'll do our "babymoon" in Toronto, taking the Friday and Monday off to make it a long weekend - go to some Jays Games and hit our favourite spots in the city.
QOTW: What classes are you planning taking prior to LO's arrival? We are taking a two day class in our area. It's with a woman who was previously a midwife and it really focuses on educating you on making decisions when you're ready to have your baby and overall safety - it'll be great to have as I was not able to continue with a Midwife as I had planned. I've already taken a CPR addition for infants/babies and reviewed breastfeeding - my sister is a CPR instructor & Postpartum Doula so I've been very lucky to have her during this time (& for the sister discount of free).
@Joslynj11 & @hopeby2015 - Welcome!! While the worries don't completely stop, the 2nd trimester has been full of a lot of fun firsts!
@oxinfree - love the name. Parker's middle name is William as well after my father.
@byrneme - See ya in the 3rd trimester board soon!! Congrats on the huge milestone this week *hugs*
The prints for the nursery came in and they match the blankets perfectly (I wanted to keep with the watercolor effect). Love Etsy!
Me: 37 DH: 37 - Married 10.2015 ❤️ Canadian DX: Endometriosis - Stage 4, DOR, RPL
Congrats on moving over to the 3rd trimester @byrneme!
AFM, I'm 26 weeks 2 days with a girl. Work has been keeping me way too busy lately, with May and June usually our busy season, I knew it was coming. I'm trying to block time each day for lunch at least, but it's pretty hectic. My baby shower is this Saturday, so I'm looking forward to being able to finalize what we have and what we still need after that.
QOTW: We're taking a newborn basics and labor and delivery class together. I took a breastfeeding class and DH will be taking a new dad's class. It's all free through the hospital, so I figured why not.
JWatt5 That baby room is stunning! We have gotten no where with baby room clean out/decorating.
EDD: 9/27
Baby: 1 Girl
Dr Appointment: Friday for an anatomy ultrasound and a dr visit.
About Us: We got our bfp with the help of IVF/FET. Yeah January FET Buddies!
We still haven't figured out a baby name or names...even though I came into this marriage with a long list of names I had been collecting since my teens (turns out my DH doesn't adore them all). We already hired a doula for our birth. We haven't started on the baby's room...though I did organize the clothes I have been gifted (or bought at garage sales) into size bins.
My busy busy season for 2 of my jobs starts now until fall and the other job I work quiets down some as we get into summer. So my life is sorta a teeter totter of what is going on in my world and what is taking priority.
I haven't felt awesome this 2nd trimester (headaches, heartburn, acne, sleeping oddly, food sensitivity, exhaustion..)..seems actually harder than the 1st. Very surreal to imagine having a kiddo once the summer is over. I think maybe I am starting to feel the baby move some but not much yet.
I have some friends planning baby showers for me which I am looking to but add to having a busy summer. Also trying to figure out what we really need for the baby or things I won't be able to buy quickly if needed (as we live 2 hours away from a target 1 direction and none of our pharmacies are open 24 hours etc).
I am also trying to prepare what we should be doing about labor as our delivery hospital is 2 plus hours 1 way from our home...so trying to figure out if we should camp out closer to the hospital as we get close to delivery date or if we should just prepared to drive fast.
We happily got word that my DH will be able to have a month off for paternity leave! Very happy about this though we do wish it was more.
QOTW: What classes are you planning taking prior to LO's arrival? Where I live there is really only 1 class option (birth and baby class) and the last time I signed up for it no one else did so it was cancelled. Hoping they will offer it again before we are due.

Today I am 21 weeks, 3 days with my baby girl. She has been kicking SO MUCH today! I love it! She went pretty quiet on Friday and I got stressed out, but my nurse said that constant kicking isn't expected at 21 weeks.
QOTW: We havent officially signed up for any classes, but we will definitely take some. My bff told me the most helpful one she and her husband did was for breastfeeding, so got my eye on that!

Happy to be joining here! I'm 14 weeks tomorrow, 10/31 due date. We have a 3.5 year old daughter who was apparently luck, so we did IVF this time, just one bean in there! Which I know 13 weeks is early to see but our doctor was pretttty certain it's a boy (very clear potty shot), we'll find out for sure in a few weeks I have just a normal OB appt on Friday.
QOTW: I took a birthing class that included basic newborn care with my daughter so I think we're set there. I had trouble breastfeeding (tough delivery led to low milk supply) so maybe a class on that in hopes that I can nurse this baby.
Today I'm 23 weeks and 4 days with a boy. My next appointment is on the 15th so I'm looking forward to that but it seems so far away! Our nursery furniture got delivered Saturday and shower invites went out last week so every day it keeps feeling more real I still need to figure out what kind of chair I want for the nursery though.
I've been having stomach issues since Saturday but I don't know if it's pregnancy related, a small virus, or just stress (this and next week are the most stressful of the year at my job). Hoping I'm feeling better tomorrow and don't have to call the doctor.
QOTW: I am doing a breastfeeding class and Baby Blitz which is an combo on labor and delivery and baby basics.
I'm 27 weeks 2 days due with a little girl on July 30th. I seriously can't believe I'll be in my 3rd trimester in a few days! Time has really flown by! I see my OB in Wednesday for a check up. Lately I've definitely been feeling more tired lately but I'm just hoping it's because we've been super busy. My brother is getting married on Saturday and I'm in the wedding so I'm hoping I won't need a nap at some point!
QOTW: We signed up for 3 classes; Happiest baby on the block/infant massage, breastfeeding and a general birthing class/hospital tour. I've also been reading lots of books/articles/blogs on natural birth techniques because I'm really hoping I can avoid getting an epidural and some interventions.
@latershrader , I think I misspoke when I said @JWatt5 was taking over. Let me know if you are still good to take this thread starting next week. I'm blaming it on a combo of baby brain and fever which oh-so-conveniently showed up again on Sunday night. Best of luck ladies and look forward to seeing you over on the 3rd Tri board!!

Hi all!! I'm 22w6d with twin girls due August 30. Next appt is with OB this Thursday and then MFM next Wednesday. I enjoy the MFM appts much more b/c we get ultrasounds every time. Names have been decided: Olivia Grace and Audrey Elizabeth (second name we chose when we started trying 9 years ago)! Having a ton of heart burn and I don't sleep well at all. Work is crazy busy right now and will only get busier through summer. I'm hoping to make it to 38w with no bed rest (but my OB doubts I will). We have all of our nursery furniture, double stroller, and infant car seats already which makes me very happy!
QOTW: I plan to sign up for a breastfeeding class but that's really it. I've been a nurse a long time so I don't need CPR, plan on scheduled c-section so I definitely don't need birthing classes. Our area hospitals do not really offer anything else, unfortunately.
TTC for 8 years. Started in 2008 with timed intercourse, ovulation testing, no official monitoring. OB-GYN recommended Clomid and timed intercourse, attempted for 6 straight months. First surgery June 2009 (OB-GYN): diagnosed with stage 4 endometriosis and large hydrosalpinx on right tube. Second surgery (July 2009, RE performed this): Right tube had to be removed, lots of adhesions removed. Attempted "trying on our own" as per RE recommendations, unsuccessful 5-6 months. HSG performed December 2009: left tube open. February 2010: started Femara and timed intercourse, attempted 6 months, no BFPs. Took a break for a while. January 2011: started IUI process, ovaries never properly responded to medications, 6 failed attempts, never actually completed an IUI. Took 2012-2014 off due to depression and frustration (side note: did complete grad school to become a nurse practitioner- great distraction). 2015: started seeing RE again, went through tons of testing and HSG, left tube now blocked, only option is IVF. September 2015: Started first official IVF cycle, cancelled in October due to large cyst on left ovary. October 2015: started on birth control for 2 months. December 2015: attempted to start another IVF cycle, cysts on both ovaries on initial ultrasound, left was huge, cancelled to aspirated cyst. January 2016: Cyst back, surgery for ex-lap, cyst and adhesions removed. March 2016: Attempted second IVF cycle, estrogen way too high, cyst back, cancelled again. April 2016: Third attempted IVF cycle, 7 eggs retrieved, 2 mature (but not great) embryos made to fresh transfer, neither implanted. May-Sept 2016: Break to regain sanity. Sept-Oct 2016: Attempted fourth IVF cycle, very successful, cyst still on left but we ignored. 7 mature "great looking" eggs retrieved, 4 mature embryos made it to day 5 transfer. Transfer aborted due to large amount of endometriosis fluid in uterus. FET of 2 embryos completed on 12/12/16. 12/22/16 1st Beta 179 BFP!!! 12/24/16 2nd Beta 449!! EDD 8/30/17 with two girls!!!!!

Happy Friday y'all!!! I hope you ladies have something wonderful planned for your weekends! Me? We're finally closing on our house today and get the keys!!! Yipeeee. We don't move until the 18th (that's when movers are booked since Eric is crazy busy in reporting at work) but we're so excited. I can't wait to get the painters in next week and actually start buying stuff for the nursery. Now to decide whether or not to splurge on this Thayer crib from Restoration Hardware. Ridiculous?

Yeaaa! Congrats @oxinfree - that's so exciting! Love the crib - splurge away! Get that one big item you can build the room around cause for the rest of the room, there's lot of great deals out there to bring the budget back under control - AND it's is a super special time - you, Eric and your little Beau deserve it!

Congratulations, @oxinfree! That crib is beautiful and I fully support splurging.
I'm 19 weeks 1 day with the little lady. In general, all is well. At the beginning of this week I had some constant pulling/stretching feelings at the very base of my abdomen. Not super painful but not comfortable. Other unwelcome symptoms this week: gas and constipation! Yay! Luckily the pulling feeling has mostly subsided and I've sprouted a more pronounced bump the last day or so, so maybe that's the culprit.
Next appointment isn't until 5/22 with MFM, so I'm sitting tight til then. DH is headed to a golf outing in his hometown this weekend, so I'll probably busy myself with nesting.
QOTW: I haven't signed up for anything yet but am interested in birthing and breastfeeding classes. We will also be doing a tour of the hospital coming up soon, and next week I'll be touring the daycare facility at my work.

@oxinfree love the crib! If you can do it, splurge away! It's freaking gorgeous! I knew I wanted a grey crib but didn't like the solid grey color. Ours is similar but from target. The color in person is a bit different than the pics online.
Ooh loving those cribs! We splurged on my daughters convertible crib, it's going to be used for this next kid so well worth it I think she's still in it (converts to a bed) so it's fun shopping for a new bed with her anyway
@byrneme - I'm happy in the end too. Now we wait for a little person to put in it
I can't seem to get out of nesting mode lol Im a lover of flowers, I do floral arrangements on the side, but with a tighter budget I won't be able to always have them in the house so I made a new table centre piece today and gained a new little friend...

@EmilyE13 - I think fish are peaceful too, thought he might be fun to watch. Also love animals - dog, 2 litter trained rabbits & a chinchilla over here

*May Siggy Challenge - Parenting Fails*

@Joslynj11 and @hopeby2015 welcome!

Love Etsy!

@byrneme congrats on moving to the third tri!
@byrneme congrats on moving up!
@oxinfree love the name! We have a name in mind but haven't been able to fully commit yet!
@JWatt5 the nursery is seriously adorable!! Love it!
@Joslynj11 and @hopeby2015 welcome and I've added you!

Having a girl! EDD 10/21/17

Im a lover of flowers, I do floral arrangements on the side, but with a tighter budget I won't be able to always have them in the house so I made a new table centre piece today and gained a new little friend...
