I just need to have a good vent/pity party for myself, so this is going to get a bit "dear diary." I'm so upset and frustrated because my foot started hurting again last night. (I've been healing from a tendon injury for the past 2.5 months and it looked like I was on the road to a full recovery.) I don't know if I've just been walking on it too much or if there was something I did to re-injure the area, but the pain has not subsided since last night. I'm going to try to get in contact with my doctor today, but she's probably just going to tell me to do what I've been doing in keeping it elevated, iced, etc. Even if she did schedule another MRI, I'm not sure what else could be done other than staying off the foot. I cannot deal with the thought of not being able to walk again for days/weeks/months. I feel ashamed that it's hurting again, since I feel like I'm letting everyone down if I regress in my treatments. I don't like having to depend on other people to do basic tasks because I'm not capable of being active. DH has done his best to comfort me, but I'm feeling really hopeless right now. Thanks for letting me vent.

@KariAnn323 Thanks friend. We love you right back And as for YH's "dork game" I think you mentioned before, but is it 40k by chance? It's awesome that YH has a community of his own that is so eager to support you guys. FX you guys get it sorted out soon

@AlohaKumu Hugs hugs hugs friend Physical injury is nothing to be ashamed of. Bodies need time to heal, and sometimes it takes longer than we think or we feel like we're moving backwards. But all you can do is take care of your body and do what it needs. The people who love you will support you as much as they can, just like you support them when they're in need of it. There is always hope, but only if you take care of your physical and emotional health now and not give into the darkness. You know you have all of us to support you as much as we can. I hope you take today to feel sad, but find hope in a new day

Regression does not necessarily mean that you weren't doing what you needed to do. Our bodies are complicated AF so sometimes regression is part of the process.
@LoveInDC, @Avrilmai, @KariAnn323 - Thank you so much for your kindness and the outpouring of love in your words. I can't tell you how much support like this means when I'm feeling so frustrated. (Who is cutting all the onions in here?) I know I shouldn't feel ashamed, but it's hard when it seems like the injury is dragging on so long. Hopefully I'll be able to talk to my doc and the foot will calm down a bit. I really appreciate all of you.

@AlohaKumu I'm sorry that your foot is hurting again. Tendon injuries are the freaking worst because they take forever to heal and the slightest tweak can send you back months. @zamora_spin I was lurking on WTO and saw you mention Orphan Black. I LOVE that show, but I haven't watched it since we started TTC, I wonder if I'll have a different perspective now. @AlohaKumu - I'm so sorry about your tendon injury! I'm having some plantar fasciitis and achilles tendonitis in both of my feet and have a huge vacation coming up in june that will involve hiking....so i'm not really pleased with the fact that i just can't seem to make my feet feel better. mine isn't nearly as bad as yours sounds though. hugs. you'll get there eventually. also, i'm so sick of ice packs. in two of mine there aren't enough "beads" and they move around so much that my foot is basically resting on no "beads" because the "beads" are all on the sides of my foot. how do you screw up making an ICE PACK? you had ONE JOB, ice-pack-maker!!!
@Avrilmai@zamora_spin MH and I used to watch Orphan Black. We LOVED the first 2 seasons and I agree the actress is amazing--so talented and much respect to her. We both lost patience with the show in the 3rd season though--the plot was just all over the place, we didn't like the "Rachel" (I think that was the one--short blonde hair) character, and it just wasn't catching our interest anymore. But glad it is still on because it is unique.
@Avrilmai Tatiana Maslany is AMAZING. I am most impressed when she is playing one character pretending to be another character - like she is Sarah but pretending to be Rachel and she does this imitation of her own acting that is slightly imperfect.
@vflux33 If you have the urge to pick it up again the third season was definitely the low point - like, virtually unwatchable at times thanks to the Caster story lines. The fourth season I thought was good, maybe a little too much origin story stuff on the project, and I also think it's hard to get the surprise element back after the first couple of seasons. The fifth will be the final season and hopefully they will make it a good one.
@zamora_spin Glad to hear it gets better! I'll definitely consider it--thanks for recommending. Maybe if I do I'll just find a recap on youtube or something and just skip season 3.

@jsnakehole I don't know where you are, your yard size, and what clean-up you need besides mowing, but to give you an idea: I have a half-acre lot that cost $50 every two weeks to mow and $250 for a two-session leaf clean-up (lots of trees).

@LoveInDC I'm in NYC, and my yard is less than 1000 sq ft (probably between 500 and 750 sq ft). We probably just need some weeding and mowing, so hopefully it won't be too expensive. Our landlord texted today and asked if we would take care of it ASAP, so I want to be in top of it.

@jsnakehole Hm, between your yard being smaller, but in NY, I'm not sure how much it'll even out. But I don't imagine it would cost you more than what I pay for regular mowing. We have "garden" areas that are mostly mulch and our mowers take a weedwacker through the weeds for us. Either way, shop around! DH and I usually find people through homeadvisor and we haven't been disappointed yet.

@KariAnn323 - I think it's so cool when people come together to support each like that. It gives me hope for humanity and I can hear the affection in your tone every time you refer to AOS as YH's "dork game." @AlohaKumu - I understand why you are so frustrated, but like others have mentioned this will take a long time to heal. @pebbledam It seriously made me all teary eyed. When we were still dating and he started running small tournaments. I was surprised when he wanted ideas for a charity to support for the charity raffle. I don't know, I figured it was a whole bunch of gamers and that they wouldn't think to do something for charity. Boy was I wrong. I would say about 90% of the tournaments we've been to have had charity raffles and/or something you needed to bring to donate. I'm sure you've told me, but right now I'm forgetting, does YH have a "dork game" that he plays?
@KariAnn323 - He does! We both love board/card games in general. He also likes video games. But his "dork game" is Magic: The Gathering. Apparently there's a colon in there, in case you ever wondered. He's big into buying altered cards right now and I just don't get it, but he looks so happy when he gets new cards and who am I to crush his happiness!?

Does anyone want to give me ideas on where to plan a vacation to for October? I need something to plan. I lose my mind if I'm not actively planning something.
Are you going in the beginning of October? If yes, I'd say beach trip. We got married in Pensacola, FL towards the end of September and the weather was perfect- not too hot. It was off season so there was no one there. Awesome. We still go for our anniversary sometimes.
@kbamomma33 I mean, I'm going whenever I say I'm going in this theoretical planning session. I was thinking more end of October, but ideally warm weather and a beach will be involved. I don't know about Florida because DH is a paranoia machine, and he made us cancel a trip to Disney World last Dec because what if there's Zika?? (the man is nuts, but I'm not sure it's a fight I care enough about). Maybe Disney LAND though....
Basically, I want a replacement for the Caribbean (because actual zika), but I live on the east coast and don't want to be on a plane for more than 6 hours. I think socal is my only option.
@doxiemoxie212 I live in orlando. No cases of zika here and honestly, I don't even worry at all (but if you are, they have free bug spray/lotion all over the parks & resorts)
@pebbledam@KariAnn323 I love that YH's both play "dork games"! I thought my H was the only one! There's literally a group of grown men that gather in my house roughly once every two weeks to paint miniatures all night.
@Cricket648 YAAAS! DH is at our FLGS at least once a week. Everyone used to come to our house but the owner is a friend and kind of made a stink about DH taking away customers. Sorry if you've told me before but what game does YH play?
@KariAnn323 Right now he's into Star Wars: Armada and Flames of War. And he also just joined a friend's GURPS game. In the past he's played Magic (like @pebbledam) and Warhammer, but not so much right now. What does YH play? Edit: I wasn't done talking
@doxiemoxie212 - Is Zika in Hawaii? If you could spare the cash for a trip there, that might be a safe beach option. If you could spare the cash for an international trip, you could go to Greece or Croatia (not sure what the weather is like there during that time of year but I know they have beaches and no Zika). Australia would be another good but expensive option for that time of year. No beaches but there's no Zika in New Orleans and the weather is perfect that time of year. We went to New Orleans last November, and there were zero mosquitoes.
