What's going on with you baby/pregnancy wise? Waiting to hear back on Fifths Disease blood work, and waiting for my 20 week anatomy scan on Monday. I keep waiting for baby to kick more, it will make me feel more confident.
What's going on with you in other aspects of your life? State Testing is finally over! But I just found out that my mother-in-law has squamous cell carcinoma, it doesn't seem like it's too bad at this point, because no one seems very concerned so far. I just hope it goes away, she's a wonderful person.

GTKY: Lets talk nails! Do you get them done professionally? Do them yourself? Just let them be? I never get my fingernails painted because I will just pick it off and they'll look terrible. I usually only get a pedicure 3 times a year, lol, at the beginning of summer, before the first day of school, and over winter break. I don't like to go to nail places though, I go to Natural Body Spa and get them done with a gift card my grandmother gets me for Christmas each year.
What's going on with you baby/pregnancy wise? Yesterday was our a/s, and ended up being very eventful. I'm on bedrest until my appointment next Tuesday, and I'm on progesterone suppositories until further notice. If you missed my update yesterday, it's in the anatomy scans thread.
What's going on with you in other aspects of your life? DH was just incredible yesterday. Unfortunately, I am hopelessly behind with work stuffs, so at least this bedrest will be put to good use!

GTKY: Lets talk nails! Do you get them done professionally? Do them yourself? Just let them be? I used to get a mani/pedi once or twice a month as needed. Then came morning sickness, and then came me not caring as much as I used to. I need a pedicure asap though, my feet look rough, so I'll be going back soon.

@mrs_tacos keeping my fingers crossed that things smooth out for you soon! Glad you have so much support and are feeling positive. Sounds like you are in good hands.

What's going on with you baby/pregnancy wise? Just had my a/s this morning and feeling better since no problems came up. I had been feeling great emotionally for the past few weeks and then at the end of last week just started freaking out... had to take a few days away from the bump to keep my nerves in check. But I'm feeling good now and hope to stay that way.
What's going on with you in other aspects of your life? going on vacation tomorrow! So if I disappear again for a while it's for a good reason this time instead of an anxious reason.
Any Questions? I've already been asked a couple times about my registry... seems early to me but I'm happy for any excuse to put things on a wish list. ;-) Is it crazy to put one together to give to people when they ask over the next couple of weeks?
GTKY: Lets talk nails! Do you get them done professionally? Do them yourself? Just let them be? meh. I go through phases where I like the look of nail polish and phases when I hate having it on because it just chips and then is a big pain to remove. when I do get it done I prefer gel polish and I have a soft spot for some of the designs (ombre especially). but I HATE removing gel. For the last six months I've done nothing-- no polish on hands or feet-- and am happy with that! should probably get a pedicure just for the skin and cuticle part before sandal season strikes, though.
What's going on with you baby/pregnancy wise? Ok. I have an appointment tomorrow can't wait to here the heartbeat and hoping they schedule my as scan. I at the point where I don't really feel pregnant. So it makes me anxious. Might have felt a little movement but not sure.

This week has been rough. Called doc for an emergency appointment because I woke up with terrible pains on my right side. After tons of water and lots of rest it mostly went away. But the headache kicked it (which I am blaming on barometric pressure). Finally feeling better this afternoon except the RLP thats kicking my butt.

Ever since DD started taking ballet where there's a nail studio right next door I have been going every other week or so. Right now, however, I have a terrible self done nail job that is chipping and my nails are starting to break. I needed to trip them anyways.
@cmar1006 i had very similar pain last week... was do bad i could hardly walk and it only subsided when i lay down and didn't move. When i called nurse told me it was just muscle pain. I don't want to be a worry wart but every little thing scares me.

How far along are you? 20+2! What's going on with you baby/pregnancy wise? I'm so burpy. Yuck. And if I move at all within an hour after a meal (so you know, basically every breakfast and lunch) then I feel like garbage (nauseated and just so uncomfortable). I've started feeling kicks though, and that is such a wild feeling! What's going on with you in other aspects of your life? Worrrrrrrrk. The FDA is here this week doing a very normal, very scheduled audit. Even though we ALWAYS do very well, everyone spends the whole week freaking out. That plus the zero motivation I've had to accomplish anything means it's Thursday afternoon and I still have a ton of assigned tasks to finish before Friday at 5. Any Questions? GTKY: Lets talk nails! Do you get them done professionally? Do them yourself? Just let them be? Rarely, though I do like the actual manicure/pedicure. But I spend a decent amount of time every day in gloves, which just wrecks fingernail paint. Once it's chippy it looks disgusting to me, and I have to take it off. I've been using the crap out of my Formula 2 clear polish though - I did not get the nice pregnancy nails, mine just peel like crazy, then I pick at them and chew them. The Formula 2 is helping, but I have to remember to apply every night.
I had a nightmare last night that started bleeding really bad. In the dream I could not find my phone or the number to call the doctor. Every time I tried to type it came out as gibberish. I tried to walk to find my doctors office and it kept disappearing.
Luckily no bleeding when I woke up but still super nervous. I have an appointment with my doctor this morning and we will listen to heartbeat. I seem to always have a ton of anxiety a day or too before my doctors appointment.
Why do dreams mess with our heads so much? Glad you have an appointment to ease your mind today.
@Hopefulmommy1980 I had bad dreams too, mine were about having contractions and starting preterm labor. It sucks, and I'm sorry you're dealing with the anxiety dreams too. Hooefully hearing the heartbeat and having a good appointment will help ease your mind!
My due date for the second baby I miscarried is coming up on May 24th, and it just hit me hard. I just can't shake this sad feeling. I think it will be a little easier to get through the day knowing I'm pregnant this time though, and having a rainbow baby to look forward to. My first due date would have been January 1st, and even though I technically was pregnant, I didn't know it at that point. I'm a little worried about getting through the work day without crying though. It's the last day of school for students though, so I'm not allowed to miss it.
Thanks @hollygolightly09 and@mrs_tacos. Appointment was good. My dr could tell I was anxious so we listened to the heartbeat first. Such a wonderful sounds. We heard the baby move away to, so she is active so that makes me feel better. Pgal brain is such a hard thing. I am glad I have you ladies to talk to. Most of my other friends don't understand why I am still anxious
@heatherwilson321 sorry about your upcoming loss anniversary it is hard. Mine was in march and cried a lot. Take care of yourself
What's going on baby/pregnancy-wise: I continue to be frustrated I can't feel baby move. Or, maybe I can but I can't tell what it is. On the other hand, I like how my body looks with this obvious bump, my anatomy scan is < a week away, and I had a LOVELY dream about baby the other night, my first dream about her. (I still think she's a girl even though everybody else is guessing boy.)
What's going on in other aspects of life: I'm just busy with work! Lots of grading to do and the weekends are starting to get booked up with various fun things. So I think these last 7-ish weeks of school are going to fly by.
Any questions: not especially; just wishing everyone well!
GTKY: I bite my nails when they get too long, so no real nail care. I enjoy getting a pedicure now and again.
Hello, everyone! I don't know if anyone will remember me. I used to comment on PGAL threads, but I disappeared for a while. This winter was rough. I was dealing with some depression as a result of being on bedrest (subchorionic hematoma) and a trisomy scare. When I get like that, I turn into a recluse. But our genetic testing came back clear and I've been taken off bedrest, so I'm feeling like myself again these days. So now that I'm no longer cave-dwelling, I should probably reintroduce myself. I'm Ellie and I'm a 30-year-old American, living in the Czech Republic with my husband Jarda and our soon-to-be 20-month-old son Benjamin. It's been nice catching up with how everyone is doing!
How far along are you? 22 weeks tomorrow
What's going on with you baby/pregnancy wise? Everything's fine since getting our test results back. Hubs and I had opposing views of what should be done if they came back positive and that made things very hard for a while. But I'm glad we went through it because I have a clearer idea of what my decision would be if we ever did have a child diagnosed with a trisomy syndrome. I'd have that baby and love him/her to pieces, and hubs would just have to deal. I don't think he'd regret it in the end. What's going on with you in other aspects of your life? We're planning a trip to visit my family in the US, so that's something to look forward to. I'm also training our puppy for our very first dog show (both hers and mine), which has been fun, but, because I am a total beginner, I have no idea whether I'm training her correctly or not. Time will tell!
Any Questions? I know so many of you are still struggling with PGAL brain, and I wish comfort and relief to all that do. Is anyone not? Now that I've hit the halfway point and our worries have been resolved, I feel like I've dropped to the low end of the PGAL brain spectrum or off of it altogether, and I'm wondering if that's odd.
GTKY: Lets talk nails! Do you get them done professionally? Do them yourself? Just let them be? Au naturale! Nails, hair, and face. I currently have a coat of clear nail strengthener on my toes, but that's not something that happens very often. That being said, I do like dressing up, doing my nails, and wearing make up every now and then.
@ellekh I remember you welcome back! Glad to hear everything is fine with your LO I'm also at the low end of PGAL brain now that we've had a good a/s and LO was measuring ahead of where I expected. I don't think it's weird for PGAL fears to subside a lot part way through second tri

What's going on with you baby/pregnancy wise? had our AS on Monday and everything looked good. We won't see the Dr for official results until our next appointment but I assume if something significant needed to be discussed we would have heard. He's been good about that in the past.
What's going on with you in other aspects of your life? I've been feeling much better about this pregnancy in the last few weeks especially. Almost no worries and I can't say I had real anxiety the same way others have. I'm just excited to move forward and have our baby here. I'm hoping to do some work on DS' new room this weekend. Once that's done, we'll focus on getting everything out and organised for baby. Yay!
Any Questions? nope
GTKY: Lets talk nails! Do you get them done professionally? Do them yourself? Just let them be? I love getting pedicures. I rarely get manicures though because I destroy them so quickly. My toes stay nice for a lot longer and I love sandals so it's worth it in the summer. I'm still sporting the grown out pedi I got before our Florida trip at the end of February though...time to get that fixed!
For the most part, I've felt surprisingly good. This week has just been rough. We've had something to do after work every day, so I'm just exhausted and in desperate need of some couch time. Still haven't felt the baby move, which makes me anxious. But she's moving plenty when we use the doppler.
Just met with HR at work and found out I get three months of paid leave once I have the baby, so that's good news!
What's going on with you in other aspects of your life?
I alternate between feeling like time is moving really quickly and dragging extraordinarily slow.
Any Questions?
For the STMs, what are things you wished you'd registered for (or for more of)? What did you register for an not use?
GTKY: Lets talk nails! Do you get them done professionally? Do them yourself? Just let them be?
I used to religiously get them done every 3 weeks, now I get them done and wait until they're so terrible I can't take it anymore until getting them re-done.
@ElleKH I think there's no real "normal" expectation in this situation. I'm sure we all grieved our losses in different ways and for different times and it's affecting us all differently in pregnancy especially as we move past our own personal milestones. There's no right or wrong way to feel. I'm glad you're doing well!
My anxiety has definitely gone down each week (except when I'm about to have a scan), to where I'm not really anxious, except what I think is a "normal" (read: non pgal) amount? Except that there have been a couple dreams where I go in for a scan and they tell me I'm actually having a hysterical pregnancy and there's no baby in there
The due date for my loss is coming up in June, so I feel like that is going to be my next hard thing.
@ElleKH popping in to say I remember you and I soooooo get what you and your hubby went through with a Trisomy scare as me and my hubs experienced the exact same thing. With just a diagnosis of T21 we were in disagreement as to what decision should be made in the best interest of our unborn DD, our 2.5yo daughter, and us. It's a huge decision with a LOT of factors to be taken into account and it's insurmountably more difficult than people think until they're put in the position to even have to contemplate whether to continue on or not. We thankfully, but VERY sadly, had our decision made for us a few weeks back as our DD had indeed had a Trisomy diagnosis AND Hydrops Fetalis...the combo made the pregnancy not viable and high risk to me. I'm so glad y'all got an all clear and are on tract to have a healthy and hopefully happy remainder to your pregnancy!! Also, hope the depression is being managed and you're able to end the bedrest! Hugs!
I went to the doctor today, and baby is doing good, but I told her I had vaginal itching and pain for the last week. I expected her to at least look before assuming it's a yeast infection, but that is what she said it was and to go ahead and use Monistat. It's not that I don't listen to my doctors, but after my first OB refused to listen to me about my RPL and didn't even read my lab work correctly to diagnose blood clotting issues, I just like to get second opinions on things. So have any of you guys had a yeast infection during pregnancy and took monistat for it? Did your doctors say it was okay? I'm just really overly cautious about taking medicines while pregnant, I have this constant PGAL fear that I'm going to take something that's going to harm my baby.
@heatherwilson321 I just went and checked my meds list, and Monistat is in there!
I completely understand your fear, though. I've had two different Drs at my practice promise me my anxiety medicine would be fine to take, and I still can't bring myself to take it. I took it one night, after 20 minutes of sobbing because I couldn't decide which was worse for her- panic attacks, or the medicine.
Thanks @HollyGolightly09! Oh man, I'm sorry about the panic attacks, those are terrible! PGAL brain sucks, I have this constant fear that even though I've made it 20 weeks, I'm going to do something that's going to wreck it.
Thanks @mrs_tacos, did any of you have spotting while you took it? I read online that it can cause some spotting for some women. I'm just trying to mentally prepare for that, because that is going to seriously freak me out if it happens.
Thanks @mrs_tacos, did any of you have spotting while you took it? I read online that it can cause some spotting for some women. I'm just trying to mentally prepare for that, because that is going to seriously freak me out if it happens.
I don't have personal experience with this, but I will point out that the yeast infection itself can/will cause spotting! So what you're reading could be due to the Monistat or people are just attributing "normal" yeast infection vaginal inflammation spotting to the treatment.
ETA: I'm sure you know, but also be careful about how far the applicator goes in.
Okay, I think I might start it tomorrow night then, I have to administer a 2.5 hour state test tomorrow, and if I start spotting in the morning, I can't be alone with my PGAL brain that long, I'll go crazy.
I haven't used the monistat yet, but today it feels like my yeast infection is about to go away, the symptoms have died down a lot. I think I'm going to hold off again and call my doctor tomorrow to see if they think I still need to take it.
@Texafornian - I am so, so sorry it has taken me this long to get back to you. Thank you for your response! It was touching and kind, and I can't tell you how deeply sorry I am for your loss. I was crushed when I heard. I am glad to hear that, physically, you're alright. High risk pregnancies are scary. How are you doing emotionally? Please know that I'm sending lots of big bear hugs your way. You're so kind, strong, and understanding, an inspiration and a light to others. I'm wishing you well.
@jena333-2 - Thank you so much for your input! Sorry about the nightmares. I hope they stop happening now that we're getting into the "he/she is kicking" phase of pregnancy. And I hope June passes as softly as possible for you.

Glad you have an appointment to ease your mind today.
@heatherwilson321 sorry about your upcoming loss anniversary it is hard. Mine was in march and cried a lot. Take care of yourself
@heatherwilson321 we will all be here for you on 5/24!
How far along: 18+5 today!

18+5
What's going on with you baby/pregnancy wise?
@BigBadWolf12 and @MyNamesTaken - It was reassuring to hear that others are experiencing less anxiety than expected. Thanks for your input!
The due date for my loss is coming up in June, so I feel like that is going to be my next hard thing.
I'm so glad y'all got an all clear and are on tract to have a healthy and hopefully happy remainder to your pregnancy!! Also, hope the depression is being managed and you're able to end the bedrest! Hugs!

I completely understand your fear, though. I've had two different Drs at my practice promise me my anxiety medicine would be fine to take, and I still can't bring myself to take it. I took it one night, after 20 minutes of sobbing because I couldn't decide which was worse for her- panic attacks, or the medicine.
ETA: I'm sure you know, but also be careful about how far the applicator goes in.
I am glad to hear that, physically, you're alright. High risk pregnancies are scary. How are you doing emotionally? Please know that I'm sending lots of big bear hugs your way. You're so kind, strong, and understanding, an inspiration and a light to others. I'm wishing you well.
