  • Ladies, another month down and another month closer to August!!!

This thread is for August moms who have previously suffered a loss (miscarriage, stillbirth, etc).

    How far along are you?
    Almost 27 weeks.
    How are you doing?
Good. I've stopped taking my Unisom at night and have so much more energy. I'm struggling more with nausea without it, but for now, I'll take the trade off.
    When is your next appointment?
    Next Friday.
    Rant/Rave/Positive Vibes:
I just got back from a girls weekend yesterday, centered around meeting some internet strangers, lol, and it was amazing! I'm in a Facebook group of moms in my career field and we organized a weekend to meet and also get some accredited continuing education hours. It was so fun! Definitely something out of my normal comfort level, but also so easy since we all had so much in common to begin with.
GTKY: Describe your absolute favorite dish, whether something that's homemade or something memorable from a restaurant.
Mine is a dish from a local italian restaurant. It's penne pasta, with a yummy, creamy tomato vodka sauce. Mmm, I might have to get DH to take me there soon!

  • How far along are you? 26 weeks tomorrow!

How are you doing? Better.  I am pretty sure I passed my GD test! I was stressing about that, but it wasnt as bad as I thought.  All the movement has been awesome!

When is your next appointment? 4 more weeks.

Rant/Rave/Positive Vibes: I get to see my whole family next weekend!  I havent seen most of them since christmas, so It will be super fun.  Plus my sister is graduating from college!  I feel so old thinking about it (we are 7 years apart)! I am so freaking proud of her, and I cant wait to be there for it!  Though I still feel a bit sad sometimes, becuase before loss, our baby was going to be at her graduation too, and we were looking forward to that, but I keep telling myself that DS is going to be there too, just in a different way.

GTKY: Describe your absolute favorite dish, whether something that's homemade or something memorable from a restaurant.
Its my dads (and now DHs) 3 day spaghetti sauce.  Its a homemade sauce that they cook for 3 whole days, and it gets SUPER dark in color.  Its amazing, and we have it every year for christmas dinner.  I am drooling thinking about it!

  • @a2003tiger glad your weekend went well! No one got catfished?  :D

@littlebug2010 yay for (hopefully) passing the GD test!

How far along are you? 23 weeks

How are you doing? I've been having more of a stretching feeling that spans from hip to hip in addition to RLP. I know that this is normal as my body is just accommodating for the space that's needed, but it still makes me nervous to feel different things than what I have been. I'm going to mention it to my dr tmrw and I'm sure it's nothing out of the norm, but moreso just want to for my peace of mind.

When is your next appointment? Tomorrow (a week early) for my 24 week appt.

Rants/Raves/Questions?  I asked this in my ticker change, but maybe one of you may be some help- Any of you ladies have ideas to stop calf cramps? I woke up with one almost 5 days ago, and I've had lingering pain since then. I drink over 100 oz of water a day and eat bananas in addition to my prenatal, I've foam rolled it and DH massaged it, but the pain is still there. I'm scared to get another one on top of this!

GTKY- favorite food: there's this thing called a cheese turnover from this pizza place in my hometown that is like a pizza stuffed inside a calzone shell. It doesn't have all the ricotta like a calzone, mostly just cheese and sauce plus extra sauce on the side for dipping. You can get it filled with lots of different things like chicken, pepperoni, hawaiian style. I haven't had one in forever, but I've been day-dreaming about them lately like a fat kid.
  • @szwill86  that sounds soooooooooooo yummy!

@littlebug2010  I hate how those little previous loss milestones sneak up on you... I hope you have a great time otherwise!

    How far along are you?

    25+2

    How are you doing?
Feeling H U G E. I was trying to put on shoes yesterday and my dog kept getting in the way and I was just like dude this is hard enough to bend over this belly without you in my face! If she goes too long without a little thump I start to get anxious, but I know she's busy sleeping in there.

    When is your next appointment?
    GD test tomorrow... joy

    Rant/Rave/Positive Vibes:
Baby shower is Saturday!! I'm looking forward to seeing family and friends as well as checking off some big ticket items from my list of needs. Hoping it'll help curb some anxiety with getting ready to move + baby.

GTKY: Describe your absolute favorite dish, whether something that's homemade or something memorable from a restaurant
Absolute favorite dish... my mom makes the BEST pasta dish on this entire planet. She calls it creamy sausage pasta. She gave me the recipe and I just cannot seem to perfectly duplicate it. I swear she does something extra that she hasnt' told me.
  • @cmmiller531 thanks  <3 Loss milestones are the worst, and I have a few coming up in the next few months . . .  Im really hoping that this little dude will help during all those milestones.  GL on your GD test!  Have fun at your Baby shower!

  • How far along are you?
    24 weeks 5 days
    How are you doing?
Exhausted. I am a bit worried my iron is low like my last pregnancy. And I have insomnia, which is not helping. I also have been having the urge to nest (or my house is just cluttered to the point I can't stand it.

    When is your next appointment?
    May 15th.

    Rant/Rave/Positive Vibes:
LO still isn't a mover. I try all the "tricks" and I haven't had luck. It's hard with PGAL brain. I think I am going to bring it up at my next appt because there is no way I can count kicks if I can't even get her to move.

GTKY: Describe your absolute favorite dish, whether something that's homemade or something memorable from a restaurant.
I can't even think of something! I am a big fan of stove top stuffing (seriously) and I love Bob' Evan's Biscuits and gravy. But outside of the norm I can't think of a dish I crave or love!
  • @szwill86 - if you figure out a magical calf cramp cure let me know because I'm getting them every night still too! I do not remember having this with DD. The only thing that makes them not as bad is if I hold my foot horizontally and don't let my calf muscle relax, then it seems to pass faster.

    How far along are you?
    24 weeks tomorrow
    How are you doing?
I thought I was getting less emotional now but then I saw the Jimmy Kimmel video of how he almost lost his newborn baby due to a heart condition
    When is your next appointment?
Glucose test in a couple weeks. I'm so jealous of everyone who has that done already
    Rant/Rave/Positive Vibes:
I'm so glad to see the sun again today. It rained soooo much here all weekend.

GTKY: Describe your absolute favorite dish, whether something that's homemade or something memorable from a restaurant.
Pizza from a place in my hometown. They make their own sauce, dough, sausage. It's sooo good
  • @bubblesmtu mine are most likely from having my foot pointed while sleeping (which is weird, I know) and not moving for a long time since I barely do when I sleep. I asked my dr about it yesterday and he said once in a while to get them is okay, but if it's every day and there's swelling/redness/warmth to the touch, call him immediately bc it could be something like DVT.

Flexing it has helped, and doing the calf stretch with your foot up against the wall helps, too.

Other than that, the massuse at my chiropractor really went to town on it and it felt like hell during, but didn't hurt at all the next day. Hope this helps!

I'll have to try that stretch, and it reminds me to schedule some pre natal massages!
