Puls size maternity bras

Hey ladies, I checked other threads for answers but had no luck so here I am to ask...

plus size maternity bras. I need some but I'm having major issues. I have this problem that I wear a rather small cup size but large band. This has always been an issues even when not pregnant. I always have trouble with bras because it's like the world can't fathom a fat girl with small boobs.
I know boobs grow with pregnancy, but with my first pregnancy mine hardly grew at all. I had a friend give me D cup nursing bras swearing I'd fill them out and I never ever did. I have hormonal issues related to pcos and I think that has something to do with it but that's not the point.
This time around I'm already feeling uncomfortable in my normal bras, but more from band size than cup size. I tried just some cheap sports bras but they aren't giving me any support and making me sore. Has anyone found any kind of plus size band (like 42 or more) that's not over a C cup? I've been looking and looking and everything is D and up which just won't help me.
Ant ideas or suggestions welcome. The girls hurt in sports bras, the chest hurts in normal bras. I'm at a loss.

Hi! I'm sorry your going through this :( May I ask if you are in the US or another country? I would like to help you find some links at the very least so you can have some options.

  • I have the same problem.  I have been using a bra extender to increase the band size.  I'm not sure what I'll do when that doesn't work anymore.

Hi @VLillyV, I'm in the US. Tennessee if things are regional.
  • I had some luck at motherhood maternity for band size. But I'm more of a DDD cup so I didn't notice the smaller cup sizes

@winterecho That was the first place I looked but anything over a 42 started a D or DD. There were a couple of things that were sized xl, 1X, 2X but I didn't think they would have the support I'm looking for, they felt like the crappy sports bras I already tried and the 1X with the 42 band goes from a C-DD. A  c would work for me but something that goes from c to DD has a lot of room to move around and isn't holding at the smaller end well.
Motherhood is the only local place I have where I can try them on so flopping there was a bummer.
  • @GenTK I second the bra extender solution. I know it's not idea but might be a quick fix until you find a better fit!

Check Kohl's. Specifically the Lilyette brand comes to mine but they typically have a selection of 42B and 42C...at least they did many years ago when I worked there as the lingerie supervisor lol

ETA: if you go to the kohls website you can sort by size, and even see if they carry the ones you're interested in in store or just online. I searched just for 42b and 42c and came back with 237 results. Also Bali was another brand I forgot to mention...anyway. Check it out, hope that helps!
