Infertility

Introducing myself (loss mentioned)

Hey everyone!

I just started my drugs for our first FET. Started NTNP August or September 2015, more actively "trying" early 2016, started seeing an infertility specialist September 2016, did a million tests with no diagnosis, so we did 3 timed intercourse cycles, then at the beginning of this year we did our first IVF (ended up being Feb-March with scheduling), came out with 7 healthy embryos (but no PGS yet cause I'm only 21). Transferred 1 embryo, chemical pregnancy and m/c (i started bleeding the day before a low positive hcg test but then numbers went down and I kept bleeding), took a month off, did another test (my understanding is that we've done everything besides PGS and everything has come back normal) and now we're slated to do another transfer May 12. Planning on doing 2 embryos this time we think, but I guess I'm finally readt to talk about it and hopefully help some of you guys too! I'd appreciate any thoughts/advice you guys have about 1 vs 2 embryos (I'm still mildly terrified of medical complications with twins, but not worried about the parenting side) and also prayers/"sticky embryo" thoughts! Good luck to everyone!

Re: Introducing myself (loss mentioned)

  • Welcome!  There was just a thread started recently about the pros and cons of transferring one vs. two, should still be on the front page of the board, if you feel like reading through that. Lots of great perspectives brought up, and everyone's still here, pretty much, if you were to comment.  Remember, even one can turn into twins, so as much as you may want to avoid complications, you doctor is hopefully going to just try to give you the best possible chances, whatever that may mean in your case.  GL!!!
