I just had leftovers from Cava (a Mediterranean take on Chipotle, for those who haven't heard of it). Divine.
Today is Beaglefest! Twice a year, a local beagle rescue group does a fundraiser for their organization at a local dog park. I got one of my dogs from the group. I haven't been in a couple years. It's so much fun. After that I plan to chill at home.
Tomorrow, I'm going to a luncheon at my parents' church (I used to go there and am still technically a member) for the Senior Pastor who is retiring. I might try and go to service, too, but we'll see.

Today is Beaglefest!
A month or so back I had Cava leftovers for lunch and it was So. Damn. Good. Then, a few hours later I got some sort of 24 hour flew bug and spent the evening vomiting my brains out. Now I'm worried I will never be able to eat Cava again and it makes me so sad!
Also, Beaglefest sounds so fun! (I first read that as BAGELfest and now I HAVE to have a bagel for breakfast!)
Goal for today is to get invitations to DS's birthday party done and ready to go in the mail Monday. But first I have to decide if I even want to have a birthday party since DH will be OOT for 2 weeks before his birthday. He'll be back on a Friday (jet-lagged) and the party would be on Sunday.
I don't have any particular plans for today but I'm sure I will find some project to work on. Or not, since I spent all last night putting together a console for our room. Which basically means I sat on the hardwood for a ridiculous amount of time (it should not have taken me that long to assemble this thing) then slept like shit because everything from the waist down hurt. I'm also going to try not to think about the massive Mom sale going on in the city that I can't attend because we're on a "no spending" kick at the moment.
Tomorrow is my baby shower and I am super stoked about that!
Last night was pretty traumatic, even though I was just a bystander. My 2 doors down neighbor's house burned down, and we were all outside watching before the FD got in. They quickly found the two dogs who were in their crates, but the third had gotten out of her crate and was hiding in the house when the owner got home, who they obviously would not let him in. So he was standing at the door begging them to keep looking, which I can't seem to shake. The dog eventually ran out the back, thank god, and seemed fine for being in there 15-20 min. The owner also totalled his car rushing home
And did you know once the fire is out and paperwork done, the FD tapes a non-occupancy letter on the house and leaves? The devastated owners then have to go buy plywood or whatever to secure the house. The owners in-laws came to help (and bring them somewhere to sleep) and DH and the other neighbors helped too.
Of course I slept like crap after that ordeal, but I had a mini maternity photo shoot this morning.
Now DH is staying home from work to go through more stuff for the yard sale next weekend. Maybe I'll gain a new perspective on what's "essential" in my house!
Highly monitored internet and no cell service in the office, so I'm postin' and ghostin' while I'm workin'
@GlitterFish wow! That is crazy, even if it it's not your house. I'm glad the pets were rescued, though! How bad was the damage? My apartment building had a fire a few years back. Luckily, I had no damage, but some people lost a lot. It's hard to recover from that. My thoughts go out to your neighbors!
@glitterfish oh wow that's really scary! Good thing no one was hurt but that must have been a hard thing to watch. @mslynn2012 happy birthday to your son!
I know I've been talking about moving forever and ever but it's finally crunch time! We picked up our keys for the new place today and we move next Saturday morning, which means all the packing I did not do over the past two weeks now needs to really be done in this week coming up. Lots of work! That'll be basically my whole weekend.

Went to a resale/rummage that was all kid stuff. Scored extra carseat bases, a new diaper bag (with the tags still on), a new humidifier, waterproof pads, baby food storage containers, hangers and a small selection of onsies. Spent about 70$! Can't wait for our upcoming showers and grtting everything ready and put together.
Tomorrow we're hoping to paint the nursery; I'm really ready for that to be done.
It's no secret that I love Amazon. Today, Amazon loved me back. I ordered a ton of stuff through S&S. But I also ordered a Northyard Supergate for $66. Amazon shipped all of it at the same time, so a million boxes arrived at the same time. I finally got through them all yesterday and noticed that the Supergate was not there. But the package tracking said delivered.
I called Amazon, and within ten minutes, I had email confirmation that they were sending a replacement. I guess when you order 20 things and only complain about one missing, Amazon is likely to believe you.....
@GlitterFish How awful, I'm so glad that all of the dogs got out but I'm sure this is still a nightmare for those owners!
DD is SO sick, poor kid. She has had a bit of a runny nose for a few days but she was up all night coughing last night. She was supposed to go to a birthday party today (not that she realizes that or cares lol) but I'm leaving her home with DH while I go to the party to drop off our gift. Taking it easy the rest of the weekend so that she feels better soon.
Iv been looking forward to my cousins pre wedding parties and today is the first one and ofcourse ... I wake up with Zits on my chin. Ice is my best friend for the next few hours.
I woke up early today because I was too excited to open up packages from yesterday. Lamps and baskets are here so time to set up the nursery!!
Amazon gave me a refund for a dresser, even though they sent a replacement. I still have the dresser and Iv asked UPS to pick it up. It's been a week and they haven't and the refund amount is in my account. Do I just keep it? ..!!! They also sent me doubles of some of my supplements and only charged me once... !
@GlitterFish how scary! My best friend from high school just had her house burn down two weeks ago and now her two little girls are having nightmares, so heartbreaking.
Last night I went to sleep at 7 and didn't wake up until 7:30 this morning, it was magical!
This morning we went to DS's Tball game and it was freezing, we got a freak blizzard yesterday, wth? It's almost May! Now we are eating and cleaning up before my brother comes over to see our house (he hasn't been here since the night we got the keys).
Tomorrow we'll go to church and then lounge around until my husband has to go to work, it's his week of graveyards and I'm not looking forward to it.
I really wanted to do yard work and plant our gardens but this dang snow and rain and cold ruined those plans, oh well maybe next week.

@GlitterFish - omg I am so glad that story ended well for the third dog. I was so afraid you were going to say he didn't get out and my day would have been over. I'm so sorry for your neighbors. Fires are so scary.

Beaglefest was...hot. We didn't stay the whole time. But the dogs are sooooo tired. It's awesome. There was no barking and lots of being friendly from both my pups. I was very proud of them...so they got some chicken as a treat.

@GlitterFish I'm so sorry for your neighbors that is so sad, though I am relieved to hear the third dog got out safely! You guys must be exhausted too. Hope u get some rest.
not too much goin on here. It's a hot day and I tried to help DH w setting things up in our yard but I couldn't stand the heat. We have a 30th bday to attend for a friend tonight and tomorrow is the second half of our childbirth class at the hospital.
other than that I'm really in countdown mode for these babies to arrive. My body is so done and it's been hard to not feel independent. I feel isolated in a way. Pregnancy is a strange thing.
@GlitterFish I'm glad everyone is safe, but how scary. Fires are so traumatizing.
We are laying low this weekend. DH is working both nights, so I get to snack and do my thing. DS has been fun and adorable lately, so it's fun to have him home all weekend. Although Monday is a holiday, and I am off work but daycare is open! Trying to decide whether to have a fun or a productive day.
The big news here is the buyer accepted our counter-offer. So we will move into contract on our apartment! I am SO ready to be done with that place - it's so stressful to rent it and live on another continent. But I'm also a little sad because we loved that place and it means our NYC chapter is officially over (which it already was, but still). The co-op board had to approve the buyer, which makes me super nervous. Fingers crossed!!
On thursday I took some maternity photos during the shoot I was working so Ive been anxiously awaiting seeing those. Today was my baby shower! SO MUCH BABY STUFF. I'll elaborate more in the shower thread. Now I'm exhausted, but tomorrow we're doing lunch with MIL for her birthday and going to a JBF sale. FIL may come up to meet us for dinner as well.

Today DS2 woke up with a really bad cough and wheezing. It was super windy yesterday and I believe it agrevated his asthma. Luckily his asthma is pretty mild. He didn't feel well enough to go to his t-ball game early this morning. We still had to go to DS1 game later. I'm just glad I didn't have to rush between the two games. They were 30 min apart and I would have had to drive 20 min to DS1 game immediately after DS2 game. Saved me the stress.
The only unfortunate part is I got a sunburn at DS1 game. The field had absolutely no shade. Every crease of my pregnant body was sweating! So gross. This has been the first warm and sunny game so far. I believe there are only 6 games left and half are home where we have shade. Thank goodness.
The best part of the day was, I stopped to get us Taco Bell because after sitting in the sun I didn't have energy to cook when we got home for lunch! The kids squealed when I turned into the Taco Bell shopping center area. It was a win for everyone!!
I wanted to plant my seedlings that have sprouted in the garden today but I think I'll wait till tomorrow to do it. The heat tired me out for the day.
Day in today. Got a foot of snow in one of Colorado's awesome spring snowstorms (cantou hear my sarcasm). DS fell asleep at 5:45 so now just sitting on the couch watching Glee. Church tomorrow and packing for a week long business trip that I leave for on Monday.
We are in our childbirth class allllll weekend. And we are TIRED. It's kind of funny to be in a room in which every female is pregnant. Next week we have a (much shorter thankfully) infant care class, and I have a breastfeeding class later in May.
I was surprised by how emotional I got watching the birthing video. I was fighting back tears the entire time, not even just when the baby was born!
oh... and tonight we watched Patriots Day, which was a great movie, but it hit me harder than I was prepared for. We live just outside Boston and the bombing was right by my work at the time. I was hoping to catch up on sleep tonight but that seems unlikely. So many emotions.
All weekend DH, FIL, and I are helping DSS finish his 3rd grade social studies project. Of course we have been working on this project every weekend, but DH and FIL are such perfectionists...and DSS chose probably THE HARDEST type of project to do...(18"x20" model of a historic building in our city, including a written report.)
The building DSS chose is a small red-brick church that has lots of pretty features, but the issue I have is that FIL has overtaken the construction of the model and DSS has not touched it aside from gluing on windows! Luckily DSS started working on his written report with his mom, but when he brought it to me and said he was done, I died on the inside. He hand wrote 2 tiny paragraphs that didn't meet the criteria for his report, so I had to help him add on and then type. He also needs to give an oral presentation of his project to his class, so I'm trying to help him with that too.
i just hope his teacher doesn't say anything about the model being so "perfect" and question whether it is "student work".
Wow, didn't mean for that to be so long haha
Also, one of my Prenatal vitamins broke in the bottle and now all of my pills smell like fish oil and taste horrible...I dunno if I can stomach these much longer...
I went to Home Goods yesterday and that was my downfall. They just seemed to have everything I wanted from nursery decor to mirrors to a beautiful side table to home decor to rugs. I found the cutest baby zebra and baby elephant pictures but one was holding pink balloons and one was holding blue and since we are team green, I just got both. I guess I can return whichever one it is not. Today was rainy all day and DH's only day off, so we just laid around and watched Netflicks. My DD was even cooperative with this! My DH also worked on DDs room and the floors are officially done and the the closet organizing system is completely put together and ready to go in the closet!
