Re: April IUI

  • @Irisheyes81 I have a ton of follicles too and am always fussing at them for more of them not growing bigger!

  • Anyone else on gonal-f with the... ahem... trots? (Insert poop emoji here.) I can't figure out if I'm sick or experiencing side effects from a higher dose this cycle.

Either way, it's not pretty. I'm only 6 days into injections. Could be a rough one!

  • I don't know if I'm in the right spot I'm a newbie and start my first round of clomid (100mg)this Sunday and then IUI. I have an AMH .957 good FSH and the DH is good I also have a questionable blocked tube. I have a follicle scan on May 8th. Is my AMH level on the border or normal? I've been taking ovaboost, CQ10, aspirin, and about to start Prenatals I hope I'm on the right track.
  • @funkykey- I am turning 26 later this week, so I feel like we have time, I just don't want to wait, lol. I feel like we have been trying so long already. It will be nice to get back to feeling like myself again without all the hormones though. I have been awful lately.

@Irisheyes81-Thank you! I usually have a lot of follicles too, it's frustrating when only like 1 of them grow.

Do any of you ladies feel a shooting pain in your vagina? I had this last month too but not sure what it is. Pain starts somewhere in the middle of it and goes upward.

Also, TMI question, do you have intercourse during tww? My husband thinks that we should not disturb anything in case we do something that negatively impacts conception. I thought that was silly, but wanted to see what you girls think...
  • @Ilky - no pain in my vagina, but I do have pain in my ovaries around ovulation, since being on clomid - it's a lot worse than my ovulation pains before.

If I feel like having intercourse during the TWW, we do. For me, there's been a pretty extreme drop in my libido since IF, so whenever I feel even a little carnal towards my husband, we go for it. Sometimes, I really miss how I felt about sex before - before it became so loaded. (Pun intended - lol - ;)

Intercourse definitely will not affect conception, though. Not at all.
  • @Ilky I did when I ovulated. It was a sharp pain and cramps where I could barely walk, so had to lay down for awhile. We have intercourse during TWW, I don't see how it could hurt anything, your cervix should be closed anyways.

@llky  since my IUI my husband doesn't want to intercourse either. He knows it's completely irrational. I think it's making the TWW even longer for him haha.
  • I have zero libido.  I don't know if it's meds or stress from IF but even sex scenes on tv gross me out.  I have to get all psyched up.  It doesn't effect getting pregnant by my RE said no intercourse for the first couple weeks after positive beta.

    • FET November 2017 Transferred one 6 day blast (a little GIRL) BFP EDD 8/4/18

  • @Irisheyes81 - LOL. I know re: sex scenes on TV. I'll see two beautiful people really desiring each other, and like, getting physical with each other, but instead of being like: "ooh, sexy", I'm like: "Unrealistic. Who wants sex that much? This is ridiculous - what do these TV producers think we are, stupid?"

Maybe I had so much sex when we were trying for the year before we were diagnosed, it just doesn't seem that appealing anymore. Or maybe it's all my hormones and the (ahem ahem) subtle changes to my body the clomid/stress of IF have wrought. Instead of feeling really good about myself, I see the extra 5lbs (maybe 10) around my hips and I'm like: "I think I'll never be naked again. Who would want to be naked?"
  • @Irisheyes81 @funkykey You guys just made me LOL, but I think because everything you said was so true and my thoughts exactly!!! My libido has ran out the door I think due to TI and baby stuff. It's sad...the couple days before starting progesterone I'm the happiest because I don't feel / look like a bloated hot mess.

    anyone close to testing?
  • Oh my gosh @kristimh80 I thought I was like the only person who felt that way before I started my progesterone!
  • Progesterone is not fun. I'm not on it as a supplement, but I've noticed real changes in my body following clomid-assisted ovulation. I think because I'm producing more eggs, I have more corpora lutea (apparently that is the correct plural - thanks wikipedia), and thus more progesterone. I do not like how it makes me feel.

  • My iui was cancelled- they could only get the right side to grow and since the right tube was blocked during my shg test they are having me trigger and do TI instead of an iui- I am sure hoping that maybe the egg can still get through.
  • For the chart- I will be going in for a pregnancy test on May 15th.
  • @kristimh80 I have been having dreams too! I usually don't remember when I dream so it has been crazy.
  • IlkyIlky member
Today is dpoiui 5 and I'm having very tender uterus. Any one experienced this? I promised myself I won't symptom spot but agh it's so hard when all you are thinking is becoming a mother!!
  • @baseballhoney I never remember dreams either and they were so vivid.

@Ilky Same here...I keep feeling small little pains down there today. Any time I bend over, it hurts a little. I figure that maybe because of shots, but I don't remember it last month.

@bpietronicco So sorry, but stay positive...think of all those people you hear that got a bfp when they stopped IUI's.

  • @bpietronicco - I am so sorry. :(  Keeping FX for you!

@kristimh80 @baseballhoney - I have been so tired lately, because I have these crazy dreams and wake up and then I can't get back to sleep. I woke up this morning at 4am with an IF -related nightmare. Ugh.
  • @funkykey I get really tired too from the progesterone. I feel like such a downer when I'm on it because I don't really feel like doing anything.
  • Well, took a test this morning 14 dpiui and bfn. Not even a hint if a second line.

  • @Irisheyes81, Thanks. We were quite encouraged. The second IUI in 24 hours had a 9.09. It had gone up from the first one by 2.02 mil! If we can keep these numbers going, even if this IUI wasnt successful, we dont have to move on right away to IVF!
  • @baseballhoney - I'm sorry. :( Sending you big hugs - are you going in for a blood test too, or are you calling it a BFN officially?
  • @funkykey-I will test again on Wednesday at home. That is the day I am actually supposed to. They usually let me decide if I want to come in. I probably will if AF isn't here then.
  • Anyone chart even thought they are on medicated cycles? I know they say there's no need to do it, but I still do hoping to catch the implantation dip. Fertility Friend has told me it couldn't help me much because meds have temps all the place! lol

  • kristimh80 I do, but I try to remind myself that it's not as accurate.  I've noticed that it takes my BBT about 3 days to go up after ovulation on medicated cycles. It's so weird!
    Me: PCOS   DH: No issues

    August '16-January '17: Clomid + HCG + IUI/TI = BFN
    February/March '17: Menopur + HCG + IUI = BFN
April '17: Menopur + HCG + TI (due to too many mature follicles) = BFN
May '17: Took off due to cysts
June' 17: Menopur + HCG + IUI = Cancelled due to 8+ mature follicles

    December '17: Menopur + HCG + TI= BFP!!!! Due August 2018

  • @Funnygirl34 Good point! I think I do it because it makes me feel like I have a little control of something during these cycles. My DH thinks I'm silly doing it and told me not to worry about it.

  • @baseballhoney - OMG, just realizing I missed you on the chart! So sorry!

Sometimes when people cancel, I remove them, but I don't know if I just never added you, or I added and removed the wrong line. Bah!

Anyway, still keeping FX for you that you get a BFP this week!
  • @baseballhoney I'm so sorry for your BFN. I am 15dpiui and I have also gotten stark BFNs staring back at me the past couple of days, so I feel your pain.

I'm counting myself out this cycle. I stopped my progesterone suppositories last night. We have had 3 unsuccessful iuis now, so I'm guessing my RE is going to recommend moving on to IVF next. I'm not ready for all of that, but unfortunantly I'm 35 so I feel like we need to make a decision soon whether to proceed with IVF or give up on becoming parents all together. Tough place to be in.

  • @amanda_1182 I am so sorry. My IUIs have failed and my doctor has referred us on for IVF, so I am kind of in the same spot. I am younger than you though. It still kind of freaks me out! I feel a little better after researching the provider we are looking at going to, but it all still is very involved and overwhelming to imagine.
  • @amanda_1182 I am sorry! I am in a similar boat, I turn 38 this month and have 4iuis I am sure the RE is going to recommend IVF. Which my dh and I don't think we want to do. We have our appointment may 12 to discuss next steps.
  • amanda_1182 and lindyc13 we need to connect! I am also 35, just failed my third IUI and I think we are moving to IVF soon. We are in the same boat. My appointment with my RE is May 11th so I think we will do a 4th iui and then move to IVF.

@baseballhoney so sorry for the BFN. I feel ya! Hugs.

  • Hugs to all- we are definitely out this month. Iui was canceled and we were supposed to do TI but husband got sick and so that didn't happen :( I am waiting to hear next steps- I believe we will do one more iui with injectibles and then be referred to ivf although we don't know if we want to do that.
  • Thanks @JaeJayStark and @kristimh80. In a way I wish we would have gone IVF right away, but my doc thought we could do it without going that far. The part that really makes me nervous is the price. All the other stuff I can figure out.
