I'm pregnant with my second child and I have noticed that I'm getting a belly much quicker than I did with my first. Granted, I still had some weight to lose from my first pregnancy, but I'm looking 20 weeks at 8 weeks! Is this somewhat normal? We haven't announced my pregnancy to friends yet and I don't think I can hide it anymore at this point.
Whatever you are doing is normal! I was HUGE with my first, not so huge with my second, and with this one my pants are already feeling snug. The fun part is it doesn't really have anything to do with the size of the baby either. My first was smaller at 8lbs 10oz, but I was huge, and my second was bigger at 10lbs 10oz, but I was smaller. Bodies are weird!
yup- I was looking like 5 months preggo at 9 weeks! (this is my second) I remember I couldn't wait for my belly to pop with my 1st and show it off. it felt forever waiting for the bump. With the start of this pregnancy, I was anticipating being able to hide it till 5-6 months but within the 1st 2 months, I was looking so pregnant already and I wish I wasn't! how ironic is this!!

I am so glad to hear I'm not the only one! I've been freaking out that I'm having twins because I'm huge! I wasn't even showing with the first until nearly five months. I'm nine weeks and already have a noticeable bump! so much for keeping it a secret!
I have a bump in some clothes not in others but I'm only 9w! All my pants are tight though so leggings and dresses all the way. We are still keeping it a secret but I kind of want to let it out!
I'm having the same issue with baby #2. People are already noticing my bump/blump, and I'm only 9 weeks today. My clothes have been tight for a month now. I'm happy I'm not alone.
Definitely! I'm only 12 weeks and I look like I did at 20 weeks with ds. But at least there's less of an awkward "I'm not fat, I'm pregnant!" stage, right?
@Ladybentspoon definitely less of that stage which is nice. I tried to pass it off as fat for a week at work and everyone definitely knew better that it's baby, not burrito.
Definitely bigger this time. I was only about 5 pounds heavier starting this time. I'm 12 weeks and also look about 20 weeks. Especially after eating. I haven't had an ultrasound yet so I'm hoping this is normal and not twins.
I'm in the same boat as you all. I didn't really show until 18 weeks last time and u am 12 weeks and haven't told my work and my husband said "how does your work not know? You look very pregnant".... I guess embrace the pregnant not just bloat but I am worried ill be a house by the end at the rate that I'm going!
This is #3 for me. My body has given up in the last week or so. My uterus is almost at my belly button already. Combine that with the bloat and a usually flat tummy and it's super obvious that I'm pregnant. I work out of my car and rarely see anyone else from my company, so it hasn't been a big deal, but I'm working with my boss tomorrow and have no idea what I'm going to wear to hide this.
I'm on baby 2 and I have this weird hardness above my belly button that makes me look like I'm much further along. I think it's just bloat but my ab muscles are just shredded and not doing anything to help me haha
Yes! My uterus is already high because I can feel it and it feels hard-ish, not just flub. I started the same weight I was with the first pregnancy, and already I look like I'm 20 weeks. Not fun!
The bloats definitely a lot worse but I'm almost 14 weeks and still zero sign of anything. I didn't show until 21 weeks with DD...I was honestly looking forward to getting a bump sooner..guess there's still time!
The bloat for me is wayyy worse this time around. And (TMI) since I'm nearly reliant on zofran, being constipated is making my belly hard. I see it, but no one else seems to.
Yup, this belly is way bigger and heavier this time around than it did with my first!!! I thought for a while I was imagining things till I wanted to wear one of my favorite jeans and omg!! I could not fasten them for nothing!!
@TeacherMama7 The ultrasound d tech commented that my uterus was huge. Lol. She said it tends to get bigger faster with each pregnancy. I guess with #3 it's so big it's already completely hiding one of my ovaries. Oh, uterus probs.
I got huge fast my second pregnancy. My first I barely wore maternity clothes at all and the next I was in them around 3 months. I am not showing at all yet for this one.
I made it to almost 20 weeks without maternity clothes with my first (a mistake made on my part). Second and third time around I was in maternity pants by 9-10 weeks. This pregnancy, I live in leggings. I am lucky enough to have a SIL that sells LuLaRoe stuff and she is always gifting me pairs for the holidays. Its been more than 3 years since my last pregnancy, so I'll have to get some maternity pants soon but until then its leggings and long shirts!

This exactly for me

I was really counting on showing sooner this round. I mean, there's still time. I didn't pop until 20 weeks with my first and I'm just now 12. But all I have to show is a leftover pooch from the first. It's definitely squishy so I can't even pretend.
Yeah my problem is maternity is great when you want to show it off - but before that - it just emphasizes it. This morning I put on a top (I'm running out of options) and I said to DH "I can't wear this" - he was like "Well you can if you are telling everyone today that you're pregnant. LOL. I told my boss today ... and I will start telling more people once we have a good U/S next Friday (praying it's good!)
