To begin, I am absolutely 100% all about equality and people's rights, so I hope this doesn't get misconstrued.
This was prompted by I friend of mine, who I have known for 11 years. He was your textbook definition of a bandwagon jumper, and a hipster, with an activist-for-appearances twist (i.e. gets involved with activism for the sake of being incolved in SOMETHING that he can talk about.) Well, he decided in January of this year, he was coming out as transgender, which I found odd considering how well he managed to keep this double lifestyle secret from all of us for 11 years, and also because- he is one of the biggest womanizers I know and can't count on my fingers and toes how many ladies have walked in and out of his life (and bedroom). Which I guess is beside the point, since he came out as transgender* NOT gay. He recently posted a long winded post on Instagram about how women should support all their "sisters, not just cyst-ers" and how he was upset about women claiming on social media that they would be interested in a transgender person, but him not being able to "find love" with women anymore because they aren't in fact open to the idea in real life. I am having a really hard time being supportive of him. For several reasons. 1) Frankly, I think this is a fake, and just his latest trendy antic seeking recognition and attention for XYZ cause, in this case, the LGBTQ cause. 2) I have a hard time getting on board with supporting a questionable transgender of 4 months as a "sister", because damn it, you do NOT know the struggle of being a woman, a REAL woman... All you have to do is put your boy clothes back on to recieve your White MALE privileges again. And I have a feeling he will once he's bored of this. 3) He is still a 'straight' man seeking straight women. I don't know ANY straight women who are interested in men who dress and try to act like women... So I think he needs to reset his standards and expectations and not expect to pull in the little straight hotties he used to that were seeking a MAN.
Maybe I'm just being insensitive, but I'm really annoyed with him these days and get extremely irritated by his rants, which sound more like him claiming entitlement to something. That's what bothers me the most I think.
To summarize, my confession is I'm an unsupportive friend.
My FF(Wednesday)C... I do not understand adults who truly enjoy and follow pro wrestling. I don't side-eye them for it, but I truly don't understand the appeal. I mean...it's fake, right? We can all agree it is clearly, clearly fake? Is it the allure of the scripted drama? Is it like enjoying theatre?? .... ?????
@allythekid I know someone like that also but I think in their case it is related to a mental illness. But same type of situation. I think its just for attention honestly.
@kgridley27 I used to love wrestling when I was a teen. Now I think it is lame, but that could just be because my fave wrestler doesn't wrestle anymore. Or could be because I grew up.
@allythekid Haha, that is awesome. Stone Cold was my man. When he left I just really didn't care to watch it anymore.
My FFC is I don't care at all that people who are new to the board post random threads. Makes things interesting sometimes. But what I think is funny is when they say I'm new here and don't know how it works. What do you mean you don't know how it works? Its not rocket science.
:I miss 90s wrestling, when things were really awesome, and those outfits!
I don't mind newcomers posting, I just get a wee bit irritated when they make seven new threads in one week, all of which could easily fit into other categories of threads, that one week being ample time to explore the layout of the board, and not participating in other threads that have clearly designated purposes that it would only take 5 minutes to figure out...
@kgridley27 I started watching as a child, so really it was no different to me than super heroes at the time... Costumes, nicknames, rivalries, horribly-staged fighting and acting, what's not to love??
If you ever saw Hulk Hogan vs. Andre the Giant you'd understand
WTF! I had a doctor agree to use my product a few weeks ago. I in turn talked to the scheduler and nurse practitioner and all was on board. I return today thinking everything should be going well but nope! The doctor went to the scheduler and np and said not to write my Product.. even though he told me yes! How sketchy is that! And of course I can't talk to him unless I bring lunch which I can't do until June. Ugh he pisses me off!
@fitlady21 Forgive my simple mind, but could you further elaborate on that post? Did you create a medical product or are you wanting to use some new product as a trial maybe? Either way, my curiosity is peeked and my imagination is going wild. You're a mad scientist! I knew it! Also- dumb doctor for Yes/Noing you, I hate that! What next? He'll claim he never aporiced it to begin with? Pish posh.
@AllyTheKid I'm in pharmaceutical sales. So he agreed to start using my product over the product he was using and lied about it! So now I have to wait for the lunch to speak to him again. Since I have nothing to lose, I'm for sure going to call him out on it. I'll ask him for his business again, and I he agrees, make him go with me to talk to the np and scheduler haha
Well that's neat! What kind of product are you working with (if you're allowed to talk about it anyway)? Is it new? I'm so nosy, tell me to shove off if you want haha
@AllyTheKid Haha I'm nosy too! It's a GI product. Unfortunately I'm big on stranger danger (why I never post pics, etc.) so I won't go into anymore detail. It is a great product to sell though.. practically sells itself as long as the doctor is reasonable and not a liar! Haha
Although after having my LO, I would give anything to be a SAHM! It's so hard to be a working mom.
We have a WAC (wholesale acquisition cost) that we sell it to wholesalers at. They in turn sell it to pharmacies and the pharmacy can jack it up some as well. So our product sells for $83 cash price.. and by the time you get it at the pharmacy, it's generally $90-100. That's the price before insurance comes into play of course.
@AllyTheKid So I guess to answer your question, the company that makes the drug can set the price. Pharmacies will increase it a tad but the price is made by the company.

It's like a soap opera and a B-movie all in one

I *could* just be being a board nazi though
