How far along are you? 29 weeks

How big is baby? Acorn squash, bunny

Upcoming appointments this week? Nope, next Monday

Any new symptoms or changes? Has anyone else noticed hair on their belly? Obviously there's always been hair but I feel like it's longer. It's still super light but I swear it's longer.

Rants/Raves/Questions? We got our nursery furniture this weekend and are slowly but surely getting everything ready. Still need to pick out a glider. MIL is stressing about it and I'm not sure why it affects her so much, haha.
I'm still having freak outs that I'm actually going to have a baby soon. I'm almost 3/4 of the way there and that's crazy to me!

GTKY: If you had to pick: Sunny D or Tang? I don't like either, but Sunny D if I have to drink one. I liked it as a kid but not now.

Eta that I forgot to tell @SaphireSweetie88 that I hope you feel better! I don't know if I've ever had strep (I might have as a kid?) but I can't imagine it's fun - especially while pregnant!
  • Thanks @ginger1228 It is not fun. It's a sore throat but on steroids. It feels like your throat is on fire.

How big is baby? TB says a lettuce?  What on earth does that mean!

Upcoming appointments this week? None for the baby, but I have a dentist appointment tomorrow because my gums have been hurting.

Any new symptoms or changes? I had horrible RLP last week and then started having leg cramps so I upped my banana intake starting today.

    Rants/Raves/Questions? Nope

GTKY: If you had to pick: Sunny D or Tang? Sunny D for sure.

    Feel better @SaphireSweetie88!

@ginger1228 Agreed on the freaking out.  I go back and forth.  I realize how crazy we are to try to sell our house and buy a new one this close to LO's arrival, but I think if it works out perfectly it'll be so great.  I am missing my nesting time though for sure.  Luckily with all that we have to do to get the house ready to show by the end of the week, I haven't had any energy to want to nest even if I had a place to do it!

  • @maybeitsmadeline - I saw your other post about people being interested in your house. I hope that all pans out and you can get moving and nesting!

I always forget bananas help with leg cramps. Well, actually I remember to give that advice to other people but I forget when it's me. I've been having some cramps, so I'll have to remember to pick some bananas up next time I'm out!
  • sorry I'm a little late to the party this week

How far along are you? 30 weeks

    How big is baby? zucchini

Upcoming appointments this week? had one on Friday midwife said I'm measuring normal but is worried since DD1 was only 5 lbs at term that this one will be small too. So we are going to have a growth scan in a few weeks and if she is small too she wants to induce at 36 or 37 weeks which completely has me freaking out. I can't imagine taking the baby earlier because she is small would help but she said that could mean she isn't getting enough nutrients so taking her out early would be better for her. Anyone have experience with this?

Any new symptoms or changes? pressure down below I already feel like I have a bowling ball between my legs

Rants/Raves/Questions? the possibility of having babygirl in as early as six weeks has me freaking out. I still haven't finished the nursery and I feel like I'm running out of time to get things done. Also my sister is getting married May 27th and I'm the maid of honor and I will be huge by then also DD1 turns 1 on May 25th so planning her birthday party is leaving me completely worn out lately with so much to do and no energy. On the positive side of things DH got approved for 14 days off when lo is born so that will be a huge help.

GTKY: If you had to pick: Sunny D or Tang?  sunny d

@SaphireSweetie88 hope you feel better soon!! It's no fun to be sick while your pregnant. ☹️
  • @nicole71721 - I have no experience with this, but just a question. Was your first child measuring normal throughout your pregnancy too?

I hope your growth scan goes well and baby is fine!
  • @ginger1228 my first I only had the anatomy scan at 20 weeks but she was measuring fine then and I measured normal in all my appointments so we had no idea she was so small until I delivered. The doctor couldn't even tell me why she was so small when she was born. She did say I had a lot of fluid with her so I'm not sure if that's the cause or not. I'm just baffled as to why taking her out early would be better than letting her cook a little longer. I'm glad they are watching her so closely but at the same time so confused. Fingers crossed everything turns out fine and she's growing perfect!
  • @nicole71721 I was confused why they would want to take her out early too. Sometimes I have to remind myself I'm not a doctor, so what the heck do I know.  Haha. What you said about her not getting enough nutrients makes sense though. They can probably give her better nutrition and care on the outside even if she's born a little early. It's just scary and I hate that you have to worry so much! Keep us updated!
  • Yes I wasn't sure about it either but I guess they figure she would do better on the outside and eating maybe. I'm just hoping and keeping my fingers crossed everything is fine and she can stay in as long as possible. Thank you for the support! I will keep you guys updated as soon as we know more!
  • @cait32 thank you! Yeah it definitely makes sense if she isn't growing and getting enough nutrition to get her out and feeding, but at the same time if she's doing fine in there I'd rather keep her in as long as possible. I guess I just better get my stuff together and get things finished around the house and in the nursery in the chance I do have to go early. The thought of having her in as early as 6 weeks is nerve wracking though. Fx for that extra few weeks!
  • @nicole71721 I know my doctors are very concerned about cord blood flow as well - that might be why they want to take her early.  Based on my understanding, if the cord blood flow is insufficient or if it reverses (like the direction of the blood flow reverses to the placenta), it can be very dangerous for the baby.  FWIW, my baby is measuring less than 2nd percentile for growth (severe IUGR), but my fundal height is right on for gestational age.  So the fundal height really isn't a great predictor of growth.

I hope your little one keeps growing and you can carry to term!  Good luck!

  • @SpongeWorthy thank you for the advice. I know I should have asked more questions at the appointment but I always forget until I get home or a few days later. That totally makes sense I never thought about problems with the cord. I have an appointment on the 5th so I will definitely be asking more questions. Just a question though are they going to take your lo out sooner due to size or just keeping a close eye?
  • @nicole71721 No one has said explicitly when they expect me to deliver yet - I'm guessing because it's not a viable size yet.  But they have told me I have very high probability of delivering early because of the growth restriction.  My OB keeps mentioning a patient she had last year with severe IUGR who delivered at 32 weeks (baby was just 2 lbs at that time).  Right now I'm just getting close monitoring, but I assume once I get to viability I will have those discussions.  My MFM also said I'm at greater risk of pre-e if the IUGR is due to a placental dysfunction, so that might be another reason to deliver early.

  • @SpongeWorthy thank you so much for the info!! I knew I should've asked my midwife about it more when I was there but I was just kind of in shock so nothing came to mind. You have definitely helped me out though and I'm writing everything down so I can get some clear answers from her on the 5th. Of course we won't really know until I have the u/s on the 19th what exactly she is up to in there.
  • @nicole71721 No problem!  It can definitely be overwhelming at the doctor's office.  If you have any more questions, feel free to ask - I don't mind at all.  Good luck with your follow up appointments.  I'm hoping your doctors are being overly cautious and the baby will be just fine.  It is nice to have that reassurance, though.  Keep us updated when you can.
