DS just slept till 8 and my mom is on her way to so we can go buy fabric for the nursery. I'm irrationally excited to wear my new tennis shoes I got yesterday to see if the help with the back pain I've been having from wearing crappy shoes or goingbarefoot.
I was wide awake at 2AM, mostly because I was hungry. Today I am trying a prenatal yoga class for the first time, I've been wanting to try it for a while but yoga intimidates me. Other than that just finishing up on my LAST project for grad school!
@secicc12 my mom sews and has made bedding for all the brands. Even though they can't really use the blanket while sleeping, I use them for tummy time. She also makes a couple pillows which I use in the glider.
Eta: she'll also make a curtain topper. She's using some curtains that she made for my sister and me when we were little. They are red and white stripes which is perfect because I'm doing a circus theme. She also crochets each of her grandbabies a blanket. I'm kinda crafty, but I'd really learn to sew. She used to make my prom and homecoming dresses.
@WineAndDogs I'm so happy for you! Almost a year ago I was finishing grad school and that last class was like a dream. I can honestly say it was one of the happiest days of my life. The two years of fast track grad school while working full time were the hardest thing I ever did. I don't know how DH stayed with me! I didn't do anything in the house or was ever available to spend time with him. Congrats!
Way to go @WineAndDogs!! That's such a huge accomplishment to finish grad school! Today we are planting nine trees on our property. It's nice and chilly but not too cold and sunny - perfect weather! Mine and DH's work gave out free trees for earth day, really nice oak trees too. Have a great Saturday everyone!
Today DH is having a bar crawl with some of his friends. I'm his DD so I'm tagging along to every bar with them. It's gonna be rough… Tomorrow my mom and DH are painting the nursery!
@SouthernMama15 & @livlew-2 thank you!! I am so excited to have my life back, can't imagine what it will be like to wake up on the weekend and not have a ton of school work to do or get through another day at clinical! I think DH is equally as excited for me to be done haha that way I can stop complaining
@SouthernMama15 never too late to learn to sew. I bet your mom would be happy to pass that skill on. I'm like you in that all my prom and homecoming dresses were homemade. I actually debated sewing my own wedding dress. I make all of DD's Christmas and Easter dresses each year.
@WineAndDogs yay for grad school ending. Congrats!
AFM, we went to an open house at a local nursery (plants, not baby) then went driving around to garage sales. They weren't that great but we got exercise parking and walking the neighborhoods. DD passed out on the drive home so we took a detour to Menards and DH is getting some stuff and then we'll switch spots and I'll go get some plants. Tomorrow will be church and then outdoor activities like mowing and such.

We have been sleeping in and out of watching every cartoon movie you can imagine, currently on our second viewing of Sing. DS woke up vomiting around midnight and we stayed up on the couch until 3:30 when he was finally able to get some rest. I think he's starting to turn a corner now and my fingers are crossed he can keep his first bit of food down.
While he was napping earlier, I hung up our scrabble letters in the nursery and I absolutely love how they turned out. I still have to let down the hem on the left curtain, so ignore the unbalance between the two windows.
@SouthernMama15 I totally agree that's it's never too late to learn. My grandma was incredibly talented and I took all of our lessons for granted and didn't learn as much as I could have. When I finally became interested in sewing, she was no longer around to teach me and I've had to learn from google. I cheated this time around and bought the bedding instead of making it, but I did start knitting a blanket. I'm not sure I'll finish both before the babies come, but it's the thought that counts.
Wearing my belly band with jeans for the first time today. I hadn't even tried to put real pants on since January, it was surprisingly comfortable and I felt like a real member of society for once
Re: Weekend Randoms 4/22-4/23
@SouthernMama15 What are you going to do with the fabric?? I wish I was the slightest bit crafty.
