Weekly Chat ~ April 23

edited April 2017 in Babies on the Brain
Hi Ladies! I hope everyone has had a wonderful weekend:)
Feel free to add to this post through out the week!

What are you looking forward to this week?

What are you dreading?

GTKY: What is your least favorite chore?

Re: Weekly Chat ~ April 23

  • I can't believe it's almost May! I missed you ladies last week! I wasn't on as much as I usually am due to the craziness of last week. Hopefully this week will be better.

What are you looking forward to this week? It is the last full week in April :) I wrote the wrong de dates down for some of my grad school work so I almost lost my mind trying to get it all done last week (but I did :)) and now this week I technically have no papers due since I did it all last week but I think I am going to ride the wave and keep working. I only have 3 more assignments and a book to read for this class.

What are you dreading? It is going to be a busy week. Lots of things going on at work. Reading this book for grad school :/ I miss reading for fun.

GTKY: What is your least favorite chore? All of them lol
Laundry - it never ends! I hate that I am never done and putting it away is the worst.

  • @glitzandglitter nice work knocking everything out last week!! Sounds like your semester is almost over?? That's exciting!

What are you looking forward to this week? Not a lot of after work plans this week, so I am excited to be able to come home and relax!!

What are you dreading? Nothing, really! I need to do a bunch of cleaning but I'm not dreading that so much as procrastinating it for another time!

GTKY: What is your least favorite chore? Unloading the dishwasher or putting away laundry. Don't mind loading just don't like putting stuff away!
  • @UterusesBeforeDuderuses- yep! Almost done with this semester then only 2 more to go:) I am pretty excited because if I can hold my A in this class (and it looks like I wil) I will have made straight As my first semester :)
I'm glad you get to have some relaxation time this week - I love it when I just get to come home and relax!
  • @glitzandglitter That is awesome you got a bunch of grad work done. What are you studying?

@UterusesBeforeDuderuses enjoy coming home this week and relaxing!! I'm jealous  ;)

what are are you looking forward to this week:  having adult interaction again and crossing more days off the countdown to summer break!

what are you dreading: I'm back to work after spring break and we have a week of practices and games - I coach HS girls soccer. Only 14 days left, though!

GTKY: Vacuuming. Ugh. I definitely hate laundry too.

  • @glitzandglitter and @DeriveMyPi: we are SO CLOSE to summer, ladies! Though I'm pretty sure May will be the longest month ever...
@UterusesBeforeDuderuses: I am procrastinating on cleaning, too. It needs to be done, but it can wait, right?!

What are you looking forward to this week?
We are taking our kids to a camp here in town on Thursday. Treehouse (built by Treehouse Masters!), lake with a "blob", and a scavenger hunt. I am excited to get to play, and watch them play!

    What are you dreading?
DW just left for the week to go work in Arkansas. I am proud of her because she's helping out another team in their company, but it's going to be lonely around here this week :(

GTKY: What is your least favorite chore?
Probably dusting. I have been telling myself I need to get down and dirty with the base boards, but man, I am not looking forward to all that dusting. I grew up with a mom who NEVER dusted, so I try to tell myself it isn't necessary. My OCD says otherwise...

  • @glitzandglitter - Good job on getting all your papers written early!
@UterusesBeforeDuderuses - It will be really nice for you to be able to go home and relax after work.
@DeriveMyPi - Good luck with the coaching!
@easttxmamas - Good luck this week and hopefully it goes by quickly. But it's good that your wife is helping out the other team.

What are you looking forward to this week?
This is my last full week of work before my vacation! And tomorrow my bosses will be out of the office all day so I can bump as much as I want.

What are you dreading? The weather. I'm having a hard time believing it's going to snow this week.

GTKY: What is your least favorite chore? Vacuuming. I hate the noise my vacuum makes.
  • @easttxmamas we'll keep you company!!

@ChloandCoco snow?!? More Like snow bueno! Get it, like no bueno? Alright dad jokes over.

I'm jealous of everyone with a summer break in their futures!!
  • @ChloandCoco: SNOW? It is supposed to be 85+ here this week...

  • @glitzandglitter Yay! Education for the win

@ChloandCoco Ugh. I can't believe you're going to get snow! I second the vacuum noise and the damn cord. We so need to buy a new one since currently we don't have one that works, but meh

@easttxmamas hopefully this week will fly by and it'll be like she never left. Plus the treehouse place sounds awesome!

  • @ChloandCoco: I missed the vacuum comment; I was too caught up in the snow. But I LOVE vacuuming!! I could vacuum every day, seriously. It's probably my favorite "chore".

@DeriveMyPi: we bought a new one a couple of months ago. It's a Dyson. I LOVE it. Doesn't struggle with our mass amounts of dog hair and sandy soil at all. Also, I am hoping the week flies by, but it's looking like she will have a rough week, so it probably won't :(
  • Good gracious! Where did April go?!

@glitzandglitter, way to go! It sounds like you're doing great! Congratulations on straight As!

@ChloandCoco, maybe Mother Nature didn't hear but it's spring!

    @UterusesBeforeDuderuses, lol Snow bueno! :)

@easttxmamas, I hope the week goes quickly! It's tough when SOs are out of town.

What are you looking  forward to this week? In general, I'm just looking forward to the end of the school year.

What are you dreading? Looks  like it's going to be raining here a lot which means possible missed recess for 7-8 year olds.

GTKY: What is your least favorite chore? All of them! Probably dusting the most, but ugh to it all!

  • @glitzandglitter I hope the last few assignments for your class are pretty simple! How much longer do you have until you can read for fun?

@UterusesBeforeDuderuses I know what you mean about the cleaning. I did some today. I even mopped the floor, lol. I don't think anyone likes putting laundry and dishes away!

@DeriveMyPi Good luck to your team!

@easttxmamas Have fun at the camp! That sounds like a good time :) I also hate dusting. My asthma says otherwise, lol.

@ChloandCoco What sort of vacation are you taking? I was researching stuff for future possibilities earlier tonight. Where do you live that it's going to snow? It was in the high 80s here today.

@JNCPro3130 Are you a teacher as well? Lots of teachers in this group, it seems!

What are you looking forward to this week? I get to see my mom on Tuesday. She's dropping my dad off with us so we can take him to the airport on Wednesday morning. His flight leaves at 7am, so there's no way my mom would be able to take him from my uncle's house, which is two hours south of us.

What are you dreading? Having to drive my dad to the airport at 5am >.<

GTKY: What is your least favorite chore? I actually don't mind doing housework. It calms my anxiety.

  • @JNCPro3130 - Thanks :)
@dreamscapes_ I am thinking once summer break starts because now I'm teaching all day then doing grad school work. During the summer I will only have grad school.
  • @dreamscapes_ , yes, I teach 2nd grade.  I have a great class this year, but it has been a tough year.  I have been teaching for 11 years (10 at the same school).  At the beginning of this year, I got displaced to a different school.  I had to break up my 3rd grade class, pack my classroom, and move to another school to teach 2nd grade.  I have really been blessed to have a wonderful group of teachers to work with, but I miss my old school and will be moving back for next school year.  There's a lot to be done (grades, packing and moving) before summer break.

  • Well the forecast changed and it's only going to snow tonight. The rest of the week it's going to rain, which isn't so bad.

@UterusesBeforeDuderuses - snow bueno was a sweet joke!

@dreamscapes_ - We are going to Hawaii. I've never been anywhere tropical before and it was the only place that doesn't have zika. I live in Alberta, Canada, so snow in the spring is fairly common, but it still sucks.
  • @ChloandCoco That sounds fun! I hope you guys have a wonderful time! I'm glad it's not supposed to snow all week, though. I hate snow, so that would drive me crazy.

  • Forgot two replies, lol.

@glitzandglitter I hope you find the time. Reading for fun is a wonderful thing!

@JNCPro3130 That sounds difficult! Hopefully the move back to your old school will be simple and a better situation for you!

  • @CecilB93, aww! Brand new little babies!! I have to say that the newborn stage was not my favorite. I was exhausted all.the.time! They are so cute and cuddly though!!

  • Hiiii! Hope everyone had a good Monday! I'm so jealous of all you teachers right now.
    @UterusesBeforeDuderuses: that's totally a joke I would tell. Hahahahaha!
@easttxmamas: I love the treehouse show! That sounds really awesome. Hope you guys have a great time.

What are you looking forward to this week?
    the week ending. Ugh.

    What are you dreading?
Work. I had a huge project thrown at me and I'm drowning in workload. This particular task typically takes months and I'm having to try to do it in a week.  I've been working nights and weekends, blocked off my calendar from appointments, and have had to hand off some other work to other people and I'm still so pressed for deadlines I feel like I can't meet. I'm stressed and frustrated.

GTKY: What is your least favorite chore?
Dirty dishes followed closely by folding laundry.

  • @notthefather eek that sounds really stressful!!! Good luck!
  • @notthefather: it sounds like you and @maureenmce could both use an extra 12 hours in your days :( I am hoping and praying for some stress free days in both of your futures! <3
  • @notthefather That sounds like an awful lot of work! Hopefully it'll calm down a little.

  • I've been MIA for a while, I realized. I have to look up my password to log into this site on my phone for when I'm not at home (I have it written down, just keep forgetting to do it). I hope everyone had a nice Earth day weekend. It was one of our sunny days! We've had sooo much rain in the PNW (pacific NW) that I can count on two hands (maybe only one!) how many sunny, dry days we've had since Jan 1st. I got a little "sun" on my nose. Lol- time to break out the sunscreen for my pale face.

What are you looking forward to this week? We got tickets to go to our local women's soccer game on Saturday. That will be fun. We haven't been to a soccer game in a couple of years.

What are you dreading? Not so much of dreading, but I am feeling a bit uneasy now about being so close to the end of my education and not having a job lined up, or knowing what sort of work I "want to do"/can find.

GTKY: What is your least favorite chore? Putting away my laundry! It usually lives in the basket until I've worn through them all or my SO gets annoyed and puts it away himself.
  • Good to see you again @tumbleweed! Good luck with the job hunt, are you done with school this spring??
  • @notthefather Holy smokes your work sounds crazy!  I hope you are able to get everything done so you can drink heavily after  :p

@tumbleweed Good luck finding a job!  Are there any leads you could following through the program/college you are completing?

@JNCPro3130 The newborn stage is not my favorite either! I'm really enjoying DD at the age she is now (9mo) - shes turning into a little person!  Also - i'm sorry to hear you got switched with your job.  I feel like education is a lot of bouncing around right now.  I'm glad you're going back, though!  I've been looking to make a change, and i just haven't decided on what yet.

@CecilB93 (Totally not in a creepy way) but I love watching/seeing pics of BF too.  I didn't appreciate it enough when i did it, and now I wanna be a total bada$$ the next go around.

@ChloandCoco Yay for rain and not snow! ;)

  • @CecilB93 - I had a really hard time with the newborn stage. But seeing new babies kicks my ovaries into overdrive too.

@notthefather - Hang in there! Work stress really sucks, but you got this!

@tumbleweed- Good luck on the job hunt, hopefully you can find something quickly.
  • @easttxmamas - yay! I am so excited for you!!
  • @easttxmamas yayyy!! That's awesome! And a little frightening, haha. I don't have an issue getting shots but I think I would struggle doing it to msyelf...  :s
  • @easttxmamas - YAY!!!!!! So exciting!! When are you starting the shots?
  • @easttxmamas yay!!! Idk if I could give myself shots though, haha.

  • Oh, nooooooo. Y'all have too much faith in me: DW will be giving me the shots! I keep telling her it's just like giving a horse a penicillin shot, but she won't believe me. ;) I start estrogen (pills and patches) on CD1 in May, then the PIO shots about 2 weeks later.
  • Thank you all for your sweet comments!  <3
