  • @bacorrea"Full term Friday!" I love it, so exciting!

    How far along are you
    ? 36 weeks

    How big is baby? Papaya

Any appointments this week? I had one yesterday. We listened to the heart beat and talked about when to come into the hospital or for monitoring. Next week we will do an ultrasound to look at growth.

Symptoms? Some upper abdominal pain, sleeping all of the time, my ribs popped from baby pushing on them while I slept.

    Cravings? Still orange juice

Rants/Raves/Questions? I found coming home outfits yesterday. One boy and one girl version of the same outfit because we are team green. The sales lady asked me if I was having twins! haha. I didn't realize that would be something someone may think.

    Team Pink/Blue/Green? Green

GTKY: What would be your dream job? I would like to have an event center that we rent out for weddings and such. I guess I would really just like to be my own boss of something!

    How big is baby? papaya

Any appointments this week? Just had 36 week check up. Everything looked good. Cervix is still high and tight, so he's probably not making his escape any time soon.

Symptoms? Pelvic pain that makes it hard to walk

Cravings? Burgers every once in awhile.

Rants/Raves/Questions? Any STMs have any labor advice? It's looking more like I'll be able to try for my VBAC and I have no idea what to expect!

    Team Pink/Blue/Green? Blue!

GTKY: What would be your dream job? If I could have a job where I travel all over the world with my family, I would snatch it up in a second. I'd love to be able to travel and experience new places while still being with my family.

  • How far along are you? 35 weeks!

How big is baby? Pineapple, mini-lop rabbit

Any appointments this week? Next Tuesday we have a newborn baby class and OB appointment. Yesterday we toured pediatricians.

Symptoms? Aches, pains, occassional muscle cramps, my hands are swelling a bit for the first time this week, no sleep.

Cravings? Same answer, just what I can't eat because of GD, but honestly no.

Rants/Raves/Questions? I'm just ready. I'm planning to start trying all the old wives tales tricks at 37 weeks.

    Team Pink/Blue/Green? Green.

GTKY: What would be your dream job? Probably owning a used book store with cats. May be my retirement job. But at this time in my life, probably SAHM and working very part time as a nurse, which I'm doing.
  • @bacorrea Congrats on 37 weeks!
@mspacman34 Yay for coming home outfits!
@KMD1106 Congrats on attempting a vbac!

    How big is baby?

Any appointments this week? Regular check up next Monday, when I'm guessing I'll get the lovely GBS test and find out about preregistering at the hospital- all of that makes it feel so close!

Symptoms? Tons of baby movements :) heartburn and, of course, peeing all. the. time.

    Cravings? Nope, nothing specific

    Rants/Raves/Questions? Not this week!

    Team Pink/Blue/Green? Blue!

GTKY: What would be your dream job? I'm not sure. I think I'd really enjoy being an L&D or mother/baby unit nurse. Related to my current field (attorney), I wouldn't turn down a judgeship

How big is baby? About the size of a chihuahua or a ripe papaya

Any appointments this week? I'm on weekly visits now.

Symptoms? Nothing new since last week, but swelling is worse. Other than the carpal tunnel due to swelling, it doesn't bother me. No one really stares at my ankles, and there are women who pay good money for swollen lips. The heartburn sucks, but I can cope with it.

    Cravings? Nope.

Rants/Raves/Questions? I'll think of something later.

    Team Pink/Blue/Green? Blue

GTKY: What would be your dream job? I love being a teacher, but I mean sick of making barely anything with my two degrees. I'd love to have been an event planner. Realistically, I wish I had gone to school for a finance degree and become a financial advisor or accountant.

  • @kayemjay2 Knowing L&D/mother baby nurses it amuses me you'd choose that as your dream job. :)
@nda_roxybabe I can totally see you having a boutique and cafe!
    @MollyandD Your lips are swollen?
  • @MollyandD, isn't that part of teaching annoying? DH has an associates degree and makes much more than me with my masters. It irks me!

@KMD1106: When you asked about labor advice, I was like, wait a sec, doesn't she already have a kid?, and was confused for a minute  :)  but happy to hear you can try for a vbac! My advice would be listen to your body, keep an open mind and a flexible plan, and try not to stress about the clock (things will happen when they're supposed to)... and try to find a way to tap into your happy place (through breathing, positive affirmations, pictures of things that calm you or make you happy or pics of loved ones) and have all those items/techniques close at hand to rely on if things get tough. Try to use them Now in times of stress, as a trial, in order for it to work efficiently later in during actual labor. I realize that's horribly generic advice. Tell me if there's something special on your mind and maybe I could be more specific in my ramblings  ;)
  • @clebl24 I think papaya pills are a natural heartburn remedy, and completely safe during pregnancy.

@clebl24: (1) Thumbs up on the hubbs working on some projects! (2) Those ladies in your office need to pipe down. It's not even funny. (3) My go-to for heartburn is Tums. If you're worried about the taste, buy the ones called "smoothies" b/c they chew up/dissolve super fast, like in mere seconds, no joke. As far as being natural, Tums are calcium carbonate, which is a straight-up mineral, so you really can't get more natural than that! They really do help, especially at night, when it's so much worse for me. (4) Did you ever see that show on the USA network called Fairly Legal? It was about this mediator somewhere in Calif (maybe SF?) who wore fierce shoes, haha. That could be you! I actually just looked it up, and it was on the air in 2012, wow, 5 years ago! Crazy.
  • @jayandaplus I'm pretty swollen all over when I first wake up. It stands out in my lips and I feel like I get an extra chin. It goes down when I start moving around.

@jayandaplus I'll look into the papaya.

@skzw Tums aren't cutting it anymore.  I love the smoothie ones too, especially the berry flavored ones.  I haven't seen Fairly Legal. Maybe I'll check it out on maternity leave.
