"PCOS Diet Support" Program - Anyone tried it? (Gluten free)

Anyone use Tarryn Poulton's program?  I just stumbled across it when my doctor suggested I go gluten-free and I'm so impressed with everything about it.  Has anyone tried it?  Or had success with a gluten free diet?  Or a low dairy, low carb diet?  I'm currently doing gluten-free, low carb, and little to no dairy.

  • I went GF 2 years ago due to thyroid issues/Hashimotos, it was suggested by my OBGYN as possibly helpful in getting pregnant.  She has had several patients that have given up gluten and been able to get pregnant, just not me lol.

  • After my MC my periods were all over the map supposedly due to stress (not PCOS)according to my OB but I think it had a lot to do with giving up working out and eating ice cream and sugar wayyyyy more than I needed. So after three consecutive months of 45+ day cycles and then hitting the one year post MC mark I gave up all gluten, dairy and sugar for 30 days and did the Arbonne cleanse program and after one month my cycles went back to normal, 32-34 days. I still don't do gluten but have brought back sugar and dairy and my periods have stayed regular, however I haven't gotten pregnant.

  • I have a co worker that started it and her insulin resistance and testosterone totally normalized. She is doing IVF this month (the 3rd FET) and all of the numbers have been better with a GF diet.
I have PCOS non insulin resistant and I'm looking in to diets.  I tried to cut sugar and was so depressed! It's hard

  • @JuliaGoolia719 I’m really sorry to hear about your thyroid issues/Hashimotos.  That sucks!  How do you cope with being GF?  Is it hard for you?

@SoonToBeMommaHowe I’m REALLY sorry to hear about your loss.  I don’t blame you for needing some comfort food.  How did you feel when you went without all that stuff for 30 days?  I’ve only been doing it for about 2 weeks and have already noticed a huge improvement in my skin (but I’ve been really cutting out dairy for about a month and that’s supposedly what triggers acne).  But overall, I am starting to feel better in general, not so lethargic.  Did you feel a big difference?

@Irisheyes81 I’m so glad to hear that it helped your friend!  That’s awesome!  I figure it can’t hurt, but you’re right, it’s really hard. Like, REALLY hard.  I really like the plan I mentioned above.  It has helped me a lot.  I’m the type of person that wants to understand WHY I can’t have gluten and sugar and dairy and she explains it very well.

  • @Bai-by2016 I definitely noticed a big difference. I'm sensitive to inflammatory foods, like I get super bloated and it takes me forever to digest. My bloating went way down, I only lost a cpl pounds but the difference in how my stomach looked was pretty amazing. I don't remember how my skin reacted but I do know I felt better overall. For me gluten and dairy aren't hard to cut out but the sugar was tough. I love sugar <3

  • @Bai-by2016 it was an adjustment at first for sure!  I literally cleaned out the entire house of anything I couldn't have.  I told DH that I didn't care what he did not at home but that for at least the first few months I needed the house to be a GF zone.  Now its more about just planning ahead, before we go out to eat I research the menu and will call the restaurant if I have questions, I usually have snacks with me in case I'm out somewhere and can't find any food to grab etc.  It's 100% doable, just an adjustment.  There are certain things in the kitchen that I can't/don't use, like our pizza stone, without having some kind of barrier between the surface and my food.  I got rid of our toaster and bought a new one to avoid any crumbs left behind etc.  It all depends on how strict you are going to be, for me if I get "glutened" I spend 3-4 days not able to be away from the bathroom for more than 20 minutes (and considering my job is to climb on 4 roofs a day and look for property damage that is not conducive to working)
