Let's play a game called "What's your most embarrassing misheard lyric?"
I'll go first:
I was just listening to Can't Slow Down by Hedley and I could have sworn he said "shake your little wrist bone" and assumed she was telling him to go eff himself. What is he actually saying? Jake you're a little bit stoned.
TB won't let me gif but imagine a super adorable embarrassed gif.

Re: Misheard Lyrics
And a more recent one is Closer by the Chainsmokers. I think it sounds like they say, "Play that Blink 182 song while we bleed to death in Tucson" instead of "that we beat to death in Tucson." Usually once I figure out the real words that's all I can hear, but I still hear "bleed to death" with this one.

my lyrics - and even if it is keep kissing my hind (wth?)
actual lyrics - and even if it is keep this in mind
cool thread
my lyrics - I'll never be your big suburban (again, wth?) LOL
actual lyrics - I'll never be your beast of burden
Semi-Charmed Life: he says, "I want something else, to get me through this..." and I know those are the lyrics, but I always heard it as, "I want some pickles, to get me through this..."
Get Lucky by Daft Punk: lyrics, "we're up all night to get lucky", my husband informed me it sounds like, "we'll rob a Mexican monkey" and now I can't unhear that.

This isn't really my own misheard lyric, but it was one someone else mentioned and now it is all I hear...
In Creep by Stone Temple Pilots the line is "Take time with a wounded hand" but now all I ever hear is "sex time with a wooden hand". I forget who got that in my head, but it has stuck with me for years

Turns out he thought it was "our song is the same as creamed corn" instead of "our song is the slamming screen door." We all died of laughter.

Also not really lyric related but another thing that I only figured out in my junior year of college is that Kay Jewelers slogan "every kiss begins with Kay", that the word kiss actually starts the letter "K". Two of my roommates and my now DH were in the room with me when I made that realization and I don't think they let me forget that for quite awhile.
ETA @MJDsquared, I thought they exact same thing when I heard that song!

I didn't actually think this was the lyric but while I was trying to sing along to Metallica's 'One' I sang the lyric:
Hold my breath as I wish for death
as
Oh, my breath is bad wish for mints
I thought that was hilarious.
Everyone knows this classic misheard lyric right... Tiny Dancer: Hold me closer Tony Danza
gets me everytime

Can I do a sort of reverse? Lyrics that sound like misheard lyrics? From Nirvana's Smells Like Teen Spirit:
With the lights out, it's less dangerous
Here we are now, entertain us
I feel stupid and contagious
Here we are now, entertain us
A mulatto
An albino
A mosquito
My libido
Yeah, hey, yay
Not sure what I hear every time, but until I heard a cover of this song where the verses were in French, I didn't think this is what they were saying...

@labgrand2012 @icecubeinthedesert @LaurenEG14- another cheesehead here!
@LaurenEG14 My friend and I always thought they were saying "snap yo vitals" which doesn't make any sense, but since we both are in the healthcare field got a kick out of it
@RVAmom315 love the 27 dresses reference!
The other one I was always confused about was Fall out Boy's "sugar we're going down", the lyric "A loaded God complex, cock it and pull it". And I thought it was "I know you got Carmex, cock it and pull it"

I seriously cannot control my laughter with this thread. And I'm at work. In cube-land.
me and DH ALWAYS sing it this way:
Lorde Royals... actual lyric "and we'll never be royals, you can call me queen bee"
my children STILL think it's "... you can call me green bean"
Not misheard lyrics... but my car shows the radio data on the display, like song Artist and Title. I constantly misread Lady Gaga's Applause as "applesauce"... and then had to make up my own version that gets sung every time I dish up applesauce with supper.
