We got to see our (confirmed!) baby boy yesterday just shy of 20 weeks! Everything was measuring on schedule and I'm still considered low risk. Baby was relaxing with his hands behind his head and gave us a hard time getting a view of his face, but we got a good 3-D shot in the end! He already looks like my husband.
I've had 2 at the ER last week at 18+4 and yesterday at 19+3, all is wonderful with baby boy Liam. He's snugged up with his little hands curled under his chin and legs all buda style. It's been a comfort to know he's perfectly fine through my fibroid pain, and his heart and limbs are looking as they should. Have one with doctor that we'll get pictures from on 5/11 which is is 22+6.
@IsItTacoTuesday so glad to hear baby is fine, but sorry you're still in so much pain! I am imagining how adorable your little Buddha baby looks all cuddled up like that.
Had my anatomy scan today! So relieved to say that she measured perfectly!! Posterior placenta 2.5 cm from cervix, and a beautiful umbilical cord!! I'm 19+6 and she was 19+4 on measurements! So so blessed! (And we confirmed she's a girl!) See ultrasound thread for pics

I had my anatomy scan today too! Confirmed again she is still a Girl She measured in the 90th percentile and at one point was opening and closing that hand by her eye. Looked like she was waving. anyway I fell head over heels in love with her again. Can't wait to snuggle her
Good morning! I forgot to update this thread. I had our anatomy scan Monday morning. According to the doctor everything looked perfect and measuring 1 day ahead and we are still team green!. They did find what they thought was a tiny hole in baby's heart so I will have to have another growth scan at 28 weeks to see if it closes on its own in utero. According to the doctor this hole is common (1 in 50 babies have it) and there is no need to address it unless after birth baby is having trouble eating and gaining weight. My dad actually has a small hole in his heart that he discovered a few years ago during a routine stress test. But still praying it closes on its own in the next few months.
My anatomy scan is today! Lately I've been thinking/dream boy and in one dream I even called the baby Vincent (our boy name). But the old wives tales are leaning towards girl. We'll find out in a couple of hours!
Had my AS last Friday (4/14). We had not yet learned boy/girl so that was really the BIG news of the day!
I am over 35 so i get u/s a lot - but this one was pretty cool with the level of detail they went into. It is now confirmed that my kid does NOT like u/s - completely uncooperative. Wouldn't turn the right way, wouldn't do what they wanted - it was almost comical. One of the reasons we didn't know boy/girl was because at my last ultrasound, the baby had its hands over its crotch and i took it as a sign we weren't supposed to know.... so i waited till the AS...
Well sure enough - the baby had its hands firmly over its privates again - the woman jiggled my belly around a bit and sure enough......... the little crotch grabber is......... A BOY! Ha! Guess some things are genetic from the womb! Surprised he wasn't holding a drink and scratching his butt too! (hahaha!)
I had convinced myself i was having a girl - so when she said "it's a boy!" i was in SHOCK. I said "Are you sure?!" and she gave me a look and said "Trust me... it's right there..." My husband (of course) claimed he "knew the whole time" #whatever
The only thing that came back in the AS scan is that I have a two vessel cord (I posted about that in a seperate thread) but since the baby is measuring perfect, they aren't concerned with it... but i will continue to have level 2 ultrasounds every month to keep an eye on it.
@JustBored10 I have a small hole in my heart too. It has never been a major issue. I'm praying the hole in your LO's heart closes up before birth. Help you to avoid the stress.
Had my anatomy scan this morning! Our (confirmed) little girl was a "beautiful scan" measuring exactly to her gestational age! She was very good and wasn't moving around a lot. She had her hands up by her face and was the cutest little thing I'll post pics later if I can!
Our anatomy scan is this Friday. I'll be 20 weeks, 4 days. We had an elective gender scan at 16 weeks, and although the tech said she always tells patients to "keep their receipts" until 20 weeks, she said the baby was a girl. She pointed out the 3 little white lines, and I remember them telling us about those with my first daughter. Even though we saw those, and the tech seemed very confident, I still have a fear that we will get there Friday and they will tell us it's a boy lol. And it embarrasses me to say that I know I will be pretty upset if that happens. All I want is a healthy baby, and I'd really gotten excited about the possibility of a son before we had our gender scan, but since we found out it's (supposedly) a girl, I've been so excited to get to reuse all my daughter's stuff, etc.
At our gender scan, the tech said even though she's supposed to just check for gender, she still likes to peek around at other things too. So she showed us the brain, etc. and just from those brief shots, everything looked good. So I'm hopeful for positive outcomes after the anatomy scan. We have not had any other testing done, or an NT scan, so I am a little nervous.
@jlf1019 We had an early US at which the US tech said girl too. He also pointed out the 3 white lines and said he was fairly confident our LO was a girl. Our AS isn't until May 2, and I am excited to see if the tech was correct when he said girl. DH says he won't trust the gender until the AS. Lol
I had my a/s on Monday afternoon at exactly 20w! I was nervous, especially since the last time I had seen the baby on u/s was the NT at 12w and the last time I heard the hb was at 16w. Anyway, fortunately everything was good, at least according to the lab tech (doctor will go over results and confirm). We are Team Green so the first thing we said was that we didn't want to know the sex... the lab tech told us to look away a few times and apart from the fact that it took her several tries to find the sex, I have no idea and she totally didn't give it away. Baby had hands in front of face most of the time, cute. I learned I have an anterior placenta, which I didn't even know was a thing, but I hear it's ok. Amazing how they can see the hemispheres of the brain, chambers of the heart, fingers, toes, stomach, etc!
When i was reading posts here I actually got nervous and excited reading about everyone's gender reveals! We're halfway there!
I get to join Team Pink! Little Felicity Rowena is on her way, and I'm already in love. DH decided last minute that he wanted to be surprised at the reveal party with everyone else, so he turned away for a few minutes and the tech typed it on the screen for me. Everything else looked good to me. Obviously the tech can't legally tell us anything, but the heart looked fine and she had all her fingers and toes. I do have an anterior placenta, which explains why I haven't be able to feel much except on the sides and down toward my bladder. It was fun to see and feel her kick at the same time. Now I'm going to be too distracted looking up little pink dresses that I won't do anything at work this afternoon. Lol.
Yay I can finally join. I had my scan today and all was good. Huge relief, I've had such bad anxiety. The kidneys were dilated because the valve isn't mature yet, but said it was very common and not to worry at all. We do have to go back because they screwed up the schedule again and the tech didn't have enough time for everything. Lastly, but certainly not least, we are having a BOY!!! All evened up now. DH has a mild case of OCD and I told him even his sperm was OCD. DD, DS, DD and now DS.
i had mine yesterday. today they asked me to come back in for an echocardiogram ultrasound. "there's a bright spot we want to take a 2nd look at." they said not to be concerned...they just want a better look. yeah...so i have extreme anxiety...this doesnt help. anyone else ever have to go back in for a 2nd look? little cassie was a wiggly little monkey yesterday and kept moving around that the tech couldn't get really good pictures. plus my bladder was hella full. i had to empty a some peepee 4 times! anyway...yeah...kiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiinda freaking out here.
Oh no @ohheyitskristine I have no advice, but I think I would be freaking too. Good luck. Hoping its nothing, especially if they told you not to worry.
@ohheyitskristine Don't you hate it when they tell you not to freak out? I just spent an entire week freaking out over my AFP test. Like you I have extreme anxiety and telling me not to freak doesn't help. Fingers crossed that everything is ok!
@ohheyitskristine with my first DD when we had our 20 week ultrasound they thought they saw some "small cysts" in her brain and told us "not to worry" (HA!) and sent us to a specialist to have another ultrasound a week later. When we had the 2nd ultrasound there was NOTHING there. Needless to say I freaked myself out during that week in between...but I think when they doctors tell you NOT to worry usually they have good reason to tell you that and in my experience when there is something to actually worry about they make that clear too. Hope it all goes well for you!!!
Our anatomy scan was moved up to today. I almost stroked out beforehand, but our confirmed boy looked great. The ultrasound was so quick. I am used to having 2 in there I guess. So relieved!!
@ohheyitskristine During my last pregnancy there was a bright spot found on my baby B's heart at around 28 weeks. I was so scared. They ended up keeping an eye on it and did not do anything for it. It ended up being nothing.
@ohheyitskristine Sorry you're anxious! I hope it turns out to be nothing. We had a scare with our first pregnancy which turned out to be a complete false alarm. I hope it's the same for you!
@baileylove22@MyNamesTaken thanks, ladies!!! We go back Monday. My scan took 45-50 minutes! I had to empty out some pee...4 times!!!! I was too full apparently. Also, baby girl was a super wiggly little monkey and maybe the tech just couldn't get good solid pix. So we'll see!
With DD I had to go back for another ultrasound because they could not get good pictures of her heart because she was too wiggly. I have heard of this happening quite a bit and hopefully that's all it was.
Had my anatomy scan two days ago and it's another boy for us! Everything checked out okay although there was a scare that turned out to be nothing. While a doc was reviewing the ultrasound images, we were asked back into the ultrasound room to redo some scans of the brain (there were some denser spots in one if the ventricles). Fortunately, they could not replicate it at all on a different machine so they said they were comfortable enough to say that it was nothing. Feeling slightly uneasy about the experience but everything else has turned up completely normal so will keep positive and trust the experts!
It's almost like we have *too* much prenatal info at our fingertips. It's a shame when doctors or lab techs give moms unnecessary anxiety over scan findings (usually unfounded or at least inconclusive it seems)... just a couple decades ago nothing like this would be known/said...
Just got done with ours! Brain, heart, cord, placenta all look well, so I'm relieved. Doc said everything looked good/normal. It was so cool to see what's growing in there! It's crazy how detailed the images can get. They told me to have a full bladder, and I followed directions haha. She said "I've never seen a bladder so full! You must be miserable!" So halfway through, I was allowed to pee. The only issue, we are team green and told the tech TWICE that we didn't want to know the sex and to let us know if we needed to turn away. She never asked us to, and during one full body shot, baby moved and DH and I are both 99% sure we saw a penis. She never spent a lot of time in that area, and I understand it's not 100% preventable, but it's still a little disappointing that we both think we know now. Don't get me wrong, I'm thrilled if it's a boy, but it's not exactly how we wanted to find out. We've had genetic screening results in my email since week 12 that I never opened to not spoil the surprise. Can't share any pics currently... thanks Bump mobile.
I had mine this morning and everything looks perfect! I do have a low anterior placenta which explains why I don't feel this baby as much as my first. Can't believe I'm halfway there!
@MrsVP614 DH thought he saw a penis too on the ultrasound (when he was still trying to be team green), but I think he saw a thigh bone (?) or maybe the umbilical cord.
The only issue, we are team green and told the tech TWICE that we didn't want to know the sex and to let us know if we needed to turn away. She never asked us to, and during one full body shot, baby moved and DH and I are both 99% sure we saw a penis.
I was 100% sure I saw a penis at my A/S last time. I was proven very wrong when I gave birth to a girl a few months later! I am apparently not good at reading ultrasounds.....
We are team green again. Had the A/S on Tuesday and everything was looking good. I am measuring about a week ahead, similar to my last pregnancy. I do have to go back in a few weeks because there were a few shots the tech couldn't get.
