Cloth wipes and wet bag recommendations

ok so now thanks to the ladies here that have helped me and answered my cloth diapering questions. I am now fully stocked , or at least I think, for my newborn cloth diaper stash!!!

Now I need help with wipes and wet bags. What are your go to brands of cloth wipes? Etsy or brand name no matter.  Also what brand of wet bag did you use? How many and what sizes do you suggest?

As always. Thanks so much for the help!!!

Re: Cloth wipes and wet bag recommendations

  • I make my own cloth wipes from flannel.  Super easy and you do not need a serger, just use your zig zag stitch on a regular machine.  Plus you can pick out your own cute prints!

  • We used Fuzzi Bunz cloth wipes. They are super soft and wash up nicely.  I've also heard amazing things about the Apple Cheeks cloth wipes but haven't personally used them.

I used a Bummis wet bag, I think it was a medium size. I could have fit 3 or 4 cloth diapers in there which is nice when you are out for awhile. I plan on buying some of the Apple Cheeks ones this time around. I would at least have 2 to 3 wet bags on hand.

  • My favorite wipes are Birdseye wipes from Green mountain diapers.  We also have some single layer and double layer flannel wipes. For wet bags we use damero wet bags I got on Amazon. They are a good size and price but not great at keeping smells inside. I always take an extra one on trips (so 2 or 3 total) so we can double bag or at least segregate the poop.
  • Wetbag:
one with a handle so you can hang it off the changing table easily and a zipper.
    I preferred Blueberry wetbags.

  • Ditto on making your own cloth wipes. I ended up making them from some of the receiving blankets we received (just don't tell the gift-givers that, haha!). On wet bags, I agree that a small strap is very helpful. We send our LO to daycare in cloth, so I have 5 wet bags. I find it's easier to prep the week's diapers all on Sunday night.

  • Look at the Luludew wet/dry bags. They are super cute! They have a loop to hang over things. I haven't used mine yet, but I'm sure it will be great! Super nice feeling. It has a zipper pocket for dry clean diapers or wipes and obviously the large big pocket for dirty ones.

  • Thanks so much everyone!!! I wish I could sew ( tears )
  • @bassoondiva flannel won't fray so I think (haven't tried it) that you could probably just cut out squares and they would work...or maybe use pinking shears and they would be super easy. Jo-Anna seems to always have their flannel on sale too.
  • We used baby wash clothes you would use for a bath. They were cheap and easy to get and have worked well for going on two years now.

I have the large planet wise wet wet bag for home and the regular blueberry zipper pouch for travel. You'll need probably 2-4 of the travel size bags.
  • We used planet wise wet bags, large and small. Even now that DS is potty trained we use them for wet clothes at the beach and any accidents he may have on the go. They worked really well for holding all of his dirty clothes on our last vacation, too.

Wipes: we used a mixture of flannel and terry cloth wipes. I found that we needed both, because sometimes the poop would really stick and needed something with a scrubbier texture to pick it up.
  • Wipes: I bought a 24 pack of thin baby wash clothes. Works great. I make my own wipe  solution.
Wet Bag: I have 3 large planet wise bag that I use in a swing top garbage pail. I have medium and small zipper wet bags or the diaper bag
