Upcoming appointments? had a regular prenatal yesterday
Any new symptoms or changes? felt pretty uncomfortable this week, kind of consistently. lots of stretching, strong baby movements, trouble getting comfortable in most positions - especially while trying to sleep, shortness of breath
Rants/Raves/Questions? enjoying the sunny day here and off to celebrate at my baby shower this afternoon!
GTKY: Favorite snack to eat at the movies? as a kid: red vines, as an adult: milk duds or rasinettes
How big is baby? I think celery this week. But the produce comparisons are kind of boring me now that I can feel the baby's body parts pushing on me. Seeing and feeling the butt protrude really makes the baby feel big.
Upcoming appointments? I had one today.
Any new symptoms or changes? The struggle with depression is a back and forth thing. I brought my mood up in the symptoms thread today and got more attention than I was prepared for or wanted. I'm hoping to feel better tomorrow.
I also have had increased fatigue paired with what might be nesting (where I feel like everything needs cleaned). Currently the fatigue won.
Rants/Raves/Questions? I know we've had whole threads devoted to tearing, but it is currently one of my worst fears. I have never had stitches or any really bad cuts. The minor cuts I've had over the past several years look worse than they are and take a long time to heal and leave dark scars. I guess I'm most worried about not healing properly of I tear. Not really a question, but currently accepting encouragement and advice.
(Borrowed from Saturday) GTKY: Favorite snack to eat at the movies? I think the movies are too expensive. I'd rather spend all the money on a nice dinner! Chips and salsa is one of my favorite snacks.
@kyreno11 - I hear you about the mood and the ambivalence around acknowledging it I also feel baby's bum now all the time and it makes it feel so real and so big. I'm a FTM, so I can't speak from experience about tearing, but I'll try my hand at offering some perspective - I've heard so many people, with and without epidurals say that they couldn't feel it happening. I can totally believe that, to an extent, because there's so much going on and your body will be pumping so much adrenaline, even if you don't have an epidural. Also, I know many friends who have torn and recovered fine, even people with complications. But the real comfort I've derived in my own similar fears is related to what my midwife said - which is what a lot of others have echoed here - about slowing down the pushing and position. My midwife said she actually does a lot of side lying deliveries because it creates more room in the pelvis for baby to exit. Either way, trust that your body has gotten this far in creating a human being that it can certainly navigate healing from a tear, if need be.
