my best guess is 4w,5days...I have an ultrasound Friday with my RE so I'm hoping she clears that up for me
How old are your other kids? Share their names if you'd like!
I have a 3.5 year old son; his name is Jameson
Current challenges/concerns about being a STM or questions about things your children are going through now?
HOW DO I GET MY TODDLER TO SLEEP IN HIS OWN BED/ROOM? lol. Don't need get me wrong - I enjoy the snuggles but I feel like if we are going to conquer this, it's gotta be now because it's going to be a losing battle once LO arrives. We have tried so many times but he just doesn't stay put.
Current joys/successes/or happy thoughts about being a STM :
Now that it's finally sinking in, im just so happy J's going to be a big brother. We are going to tell him Sunday as long as Fridays scan goes well and I just can't wait for his reaction. Hes been asking for a brother or sister for awhile and it's his nature to care for others so I'm just excited to see that.
Rants/Raves/Randoms/Questions:
rant: so so tired. I'm trying so hard to keep up with J, but it's so hard not to want to crawl into my bed and nap. Rave: my nausea has improved a bit
GTKY: What is your favorite mid-week go to easy meal to make? Extra points for recipes!
Im pretty much the worlds worst cook. I can burn boiling water....my easy go to meal is Mac and cheese and ground beef. So simple - just brown the ground beef and mix in with Mac and cheese - Voila!

up he had to stay in his room until his gate was unlocked again. Some nights he played a lot (those were long nap days) but after awhile he got used to the idea of his room being his space and now he doesn't have a gate and asks if he can go to bed without prompting. He'll be four in June! You can check out Montessori on Pinterest. Hope maybe that can help!
How old are your other kids? Share their names if you'd like! DS is 15 months
Current challenges/concerns about being a STM or questions about things your children are going through now? I'm just so tired already, I don't know how I'll do it once there's a newborn!
Current joys/successes/or happy thoughts about being a STM : we told the in laws yesterday and they are just giddy with joy which makes me even happier!
Rants/Raves/Randoms/Questions
DH is potentially getting to meet with his previous employer this week to hopefully come back to work in town, which would mean no more 2 weeks away 1 week hike schedule. I HOPE so hard it works out!
GTKY: What is your favorite mid-week go to easy meal to make? Extra points for recipes!
Honestly? Hot dogs! Hahahaha
@Marley629 I like the idea of a STM+ Q&A but I think we should put it in its own thread because I can't see is getting out of hand and completely overshadowing the check in. Maybe do one a week or one a month?
How old are your other kids? Share their names if you'd like! DS's Clay and Cohen are 9.5 months old (7.5 months adjusted)
Current challenges/concerns about being a STM or questions about things your children are going through now? How the hell am I going to manage 3 under 2. We live in a tiny 700 sq ft apt and are in the process of maybe building a house (we just bought land), but we weren't going to start til fall... I have no idea how we are all gonig to fit.
Current joys/successes/or happy thoughts about being a STM : Twins were much easier than I thought they'd be. Maybe because I didn't know any differently. We were blessed with two very happy babies, so I have a feeling this one will be a little hellion.
Rants/Raves/Randoms/Questions/ I totally was not ready to be pregnant right away. I really was hoping for after the summer, so this is a complete shock to me and i feel it's going to take me a bit to wrap my head around it all.
GTKY: What is your favorite mid-week go to easy meal to make? Extra points for recipes! Spaghetti - boil water, add noddles, brown hamburger, add sauce. Also, i like crock pot meals. Saurkraut and spare ribs, just put in together and if you want to add dumplings at the end of the day, you can do so. Beef stew, cubed meat, carrots, potatoes, celery, onions, paprika, salt and pepper and that's it!
How old are your other kids? Share their names if you'd like!
Current challenges/concerns about being a STM or questions about things your children are going through now? current challenge is breastfeeding; I am pumping less these days and I'm trying to figure out when/how I need to start supplementing. Right now, with what I pump and what I have frozen, I can still make enough bottles for her while she's at daycare, but I don't know how much she is getting when we feed at home and whether I should start adding some formula on top of breastfeeding and solids or just keep doing what we're doing. I know the guidelines of approximately how much milk she should get in a day, but unless I do weighted feeds (and we don't have a scale to them b/c she never had a weight issue, though she's always been on the lower end of the percentiles), I don't know how much she's getting. I underestimated how stressful not knowing how much she actually drinks would be, as a FTM!
Current joys/successes/or happy thoughts about being a STM : Really excited to feel baby kicks on the inside again
Rants/Raves/Randoms/Questions/ I'm with @tmk0325 . I got the first squinter of a BFP on Sunday and have been taking a test every day since to convince myself this is happening! The lines are getting darker, so I called my OB and set my first appointment.
GTKY: What is your favorite mid-week go to easy meal to make? Extra points for recipes! Our easy go-to right now is refrigerated tortellini and sauce. I also like to just do a quick stir fry to serve with rice--I tend to keep chicken and shrimp in the freezer as well as veggies so we can throw that together even if I don't have time to run to the store. Breakfast for dinner is also pretty easy as we usually have all of the ingredients on hand. When I get a coupon code, we also do HelloFresh and/or HomeChef. I can't bring myself to pay full price, but I can usually find a discount every couple months or so, and it is pretty easy. I also think I can send discounts or maybe free boxes if anyone wants to try them. We've done Blue Apron, too, but I like the other ones better.

My only concern is financial. With three kids we won't be able to afford daycare, which means I won't be able to work as much. But we knew that going into this and we'll figure it out :-)
Current joys/successes/or happy thoughts about being a STM :
I'm just happy to be on my way to a 3rd baby!

GTKY: What is your favorite mid-week go to easy meal to make? Extra points for recipes!
My husband often makes tofu with vegetable curry and ready rice when I'm working and I take my portion for lunch the next day. It's quick and easy and everyone loves it. Just extra firm tofu, cut into cubes, fried in olive oil, mixed with Kitchens of India Mashed Veggie Curry and Uncle Ben's Ready Rice Rice Pilaf. Yum! It's actually what I had for dinner the evening before I had my second daughter. Oh the heartburn while in labor! Remind me not to do that again :-D

Current challenges/concerns about being a STM or questions about things your children are going through now? Not really... I guess I could note that my daughter is just now getting her first tooth! Anyone else have late bloomers in the tooth department?
Current joys/successes/or happy thoughts about being a STM : I'm just so excited for our little family to be growing. I know it will be a challenge, but it'll all be worth it.
Rants/Raves/Randoms/Questions/ None atm
GTKY: What is your favorite mid-week go to easy meal to make? Extra points for recipes! Salad! It's one of my favorite easy meals and we throw everything together... Spinach, shredded carrot, cucumber slices, hard boiled egg, elbow noodles, peas, croutons, shredded cheese, and I add cottage cheese because it helps me cut down on dressing. Or anything in the crock pot. I'm addicted to my Skinnytaste Fast and Slow cookbook. I recommend everyone go buy it, because the meals are healthy, SO fast to make, and super easy.
@tmk0325 Our flat is 700 sq ft too! It's horrible! We've been hunting for places, but we haven't had any luck. We plan on buying in Lake Mills (we don't live there now, but we fell in love with the town and know that's where we want to plant out roots) in about 2 years, but it's impossible to find a rental there. We're going to talk to my dad about possibly moving in with my parents. My mom is all for it, we just have to convince him. They've got a ton of space and it would help us save even more money to really get what we want when we finally buy.
@cait5413 I've been trying to talk my husband into trying one of those meal services! I'd love to try it out sometime, so if you can hook us up with a discount or free box, that'd be amazing!
**Also, what does everyone think about making this an "Ask a STM+ A question" thread as well? ** I agree with @missbmama I think a separate thread would be great!

Current challenges/concerns about being a STM or questions about things your children are going through now? I'm just nervous about being able to juggle 2 kids and working full time. Also, I think my husband's job is transferring him back to an office and hour and a half away so I'll get NO help during the week and we'll have to depend on our moms to put the kids to bed twice a week
Current joys/successes/or happy thoughts about being a STM : I'm super excited for another baby, but I'm mostly just a ball of nerves right now.

Spaghetti squash! The nights I work late my husband just roasts it with some chicken sausage and sauce or makes a chicken parm type thing. Super easy.

Running after a 2.5 year old while not feeling so hot in early pregnancy...this is not going to be fun!

GTKY: What is your favorite mid-week go to easy meal to make? Extra points for recipes!
Everyone is going to hate me, but DH does almost all of the cooking when he's not traveling...so he would say chicken breast on the grill and a pan-grilled veggie of some kind
How old are your other kids? Share their names if you'd like! 4 1/2 years - Hudson
Current challenges/concerns about being a STM or questions about things your children are going through now? Adjusting to another person especially baby. H and I have been through a lot in his short life (single mom to partner to nasty break-up to new parter whom I'm pregnant by) and that's all been only in the last two years. He is still very attached to me. I am concerned he will feel rejected when the baby comes even though he has been BEGGING for a sibling
Current joys/successes/or happy thoughts about being a STM : The blessing of seeing siblings be each others champion and healthy competition. I grew up an only, so this is going to be exciting and full of growth for all involved!
Rants/Raves/Randoms/Questions/ My rave is how I'm feeling. With H iI had essentially NO pregnancy symptoms/side effects. With this one I am nauseous 24/7 with a metallic taste in my mouth and I can't bring myself to drink as much as I know I should.
GTKY: What is your favorite mid-week go to easy meal to make? Extra points for recipes! Sorry ladies no recipes here right now (see above) constant nausea has ruled out a lot of my ability to even THINK about food.

Just the usual- having a newborn on her own was hard enough. At least by the time I give birth Abby will be 4 and a little more independent.

Rants/Raves/Randoms/Questions/ I'm just so tired all the time. I worked from home yesterday with the intention of getting some housework done since we are hosting Easter. I ended up laying on the couch for half the afternoon.

Current challenges/concerns about being a STM or questions about things your children are going through now? DS is trying to cut his two top teeth and has been waking up at night which is making me drag at work. DH is great and would get up and/or heat up some milk if I asked, but since I have the boobs, I generally am the one to soothe. Just hoping he cuts a majority prior to having a newborn since he is a little behind in the teeth department.
Current joys/successes/or happy thoughts about being a STM : Obviously I am super excited about giving DS a sibling. I also know what to expect and hope that I'll be able to soak everything in a little more since I will have some experience this time around.
Rants/Raves/Randoms/Questions/ I am absolutely petrified for the first tri exhaustion to hit. Have a LO is going to make this a completely different ballgame! During DS' pregnancy I would come home from work and just lay down for a solid hour before having dinner or anything and since DH and I work opposite schedules that's obviously not in the realm of possibilities lol
GTKY: What is your favorite mid-week go to easy meal to make? Extra points for recipes! Um takeout? I don't like to cook and avoid it when I can. We do a lot of crockpot and make ahead stuff - chicken and a can of salsa over rice is a go-to.

Current challenges/concerns about being a STM or questions about things your children are going through now?
Just feeling so settled in with jolie and nervous about shaking it all up with a newborn. Oh and we are finishing our basement right now- either jolie will have to go downstairs by herself to a new room or share when the baby moves out of our room eventually...
Current joys/successes/or happy thoughts about being a STM :
Loving the idea if them being close. Jolie is super sweet with her stuffed toys and our dogs so it will be fun to see her with a sibling.
Rants/Raves/Randoms/Questions/
I just want the Dr appointment to be here so we can know more and tell family!
GTKY: What is your favorite mid-week go to easy meal to make? Extra points for recipes!
easy meals we make are tacos, grilled chicken Caesar salad, chili and spaghetti. Not thinking those are recipes worth sharing haha. But I do have a marinade I love that's an easy go to:
1/3 c each of brown sugar, soy sauce, oil and water mixed in a bowl.
Sprinkle lemon pepper seasoning on salmon, rub it in, then place in a baggie and pour the marinade over. Zip up and leave in the fridge at least an hour, then bake at 375 for about 15 min.

-I obviously suck at this board on my phone but I love the idea of ask a STM thread..in my Sept 15 group I felt like sometimes it would have been so much easier to just ask for their advice instead of waiting for specific concern to be brought up as a general thread.
-Favorite mid week recipe is definitely quesadillas! Bought a quesadilla maker total game changer!

Current challenges/concerns about being a STM or questions about things your children are going through now?
Just making sure baby is healthy (I have some health concerns that make me a higher risk) and making sure Ezra is ready when the baby comes but also knowing that he is just as important and never feels pushed aside.
