So, I was watching Private Practice last night and one of the story lines was about a Mom who didn't immunize b/c of her concerns re: autism. It made me start thinking about some of the discussions I've seen on the boards (this one and others) about vaccine schedules, options, etc. Long story short, I want to start doing some reading because I am completely clueless. I guess I just want to know more about regular vs. alternative vaccination schedules. (I do plan on immunizing, just want to know more going in).
Can anyone recommend some books/references that have been helpful in sorting through this information? TIA!
Re: Vaccination references?
oh I also thought Baby 411 had some good info too, if you have that book.
If you decide to go with an alternate schedule, make sure you ask your pediatrician if they will work with it.
We took our son to the pediatrician for the first time today and some of the doctors in the practice are willing to follow the alternate schedule, except for the one we saw. We want to follow an alternate schedule, so I guess we will have to see a diff. doctor next time.
