Re: Tuesday Ticker Change 4/11

  • 1) How many weeks are you?
7! Little blueberry cramping my style in there <3
    2) How are you feeling?
MS is soooo fun. So is needing a nap every two hours.
    3) Any appointments or tests this week?
Ultrasound on Thursday that we just cannot WAIT for!
    4) Rants/Raves/Questions?
Is it insane that I got my mom to take me to get a pair of maternity jeans yesterday? I'm so uncomfortable in waistbands right now and it's not like it's gonna get easier to wear non maternity jeans, right?
    5) GTKY - are you planning on daycare (home or center), nanny, grandparents, or one of you staying at home?
I work from home now so I'll be pulling back on work and staying home. Not quitting entirely but probably taking on less.

  • 1) How many weeks are you?
    8 weeks
    2) How are you feeling?
pretty crappy. MS is going to be the death of me. Fatigue is also killing me and my 1 year old has started sleeping 2 hours less at night and an hour less during each of her two nap times.  :'(
    3) Any appointments or tests this week?
My first appointment with my midwife is Thursday and I'm so excited! I should be getting an ultrasound so can't stinking wait!!
    4) Rants/Raves/Questions?
Ugh nothing really pregnancy related. Dealing with insurance issues for my 1 year old. *major eye roll because someone didn't submit the forms I sent in correctly
    5) GTKY - are you planning on daycare (home or center), nanny, grandparents, or one of you staying at home?
I'm currently a SAHM but thinking I probably should get a job. Even just part time to help our DH. And let's be honest I need some time away from my house. But if I did get a job we'd probably just send DD to daycare.
  • 1) How many weeks are you?
11 weeks! (10/31 EDD but I wanted to stay with y'all)

    2) How are you feeling?
For the most part I'm feeling so much better than I have been for the last few weeks. Random nausea and exhaustion but it's becoming the exception not the rule

    3) Any appointments or tests this week?
We have our first midwife appointment on Thursday. Can't wait to hear the heartbeat!

    4) Rants/Raves/Questions?
I wish people in my life would stop questioning my choice of using a midwife group instead of an OB. I keep hearing "what do you mean they don't do ultrasounds until 20 weeks?! How can they know everything is ok?!" Guys, chill. I have zero signs something is wrong, and if I did they would refer me for an earlier ultrasound. I'm extremely low risk and trust my care providers. I did it with DS and I'm glad I'm doing it again.

    5) GTKY - are you planning on daycare (home or center), nanny, grandparents, or one of you staying at home?
A combo of family, friends, and staying at home. I work 3 evenings a week so I'm home most of the time and babysit out of my house 3 days a week. DH, friends, family members watch DS on the evenings I work so we'll continue with that. Although we're hoping my mom will be moving down and staying with us for the first year while she sells her home in MO so that will help a lot.
  • 1) How many weeks are you? 10 weeks!
    2) How are you feeling? Less bloated on a consistent basis but I feel very fat and "not so pretty".  I'm always tired and hungry.
    3) Any appointments or tests this week? Had my ultrasound yesterday.  I really needed to see that everything was ok even though I didn't have a reason to believe otherwise.  It was nice seeing how excited SO got.  It's been 16 yrs since he went through all of this.
    4) Rants/Raves/Questions? My OB, who I just met yesterday, is super awesome and even prefers VBACs.  I'm still not sure what will happen since it's so early, but she's really nice and someone I feel I could trust.
    5) GTKY - are you planning on daycare (home or center), nanny, grandparents, or one of you staying at home? Ugh...I don't even know.  I work full time right now and always have.  I hate it.  I just want to be a mom.  I'd prefer to stay home, but my mom will likely watch the LO during the day.

DS1 is 7.  DD is 1.  DS2 is coming in late April.

  • @kaitieb14 My bloating is better now, so my regular pants would be slightly more comfortable IF I wasn't 10 weeks and already starting to push out of them.  So, unfortunately, by the time regular pants start to feel more comfortable in one aspect, they are less comfortable for other reasons lol!  I'm trying to stick with leggings or bigger/stretchy pants.

  • My EDD was adjusted to 11/14 so I am over here now :)

    1) How many weeks are you? 9!
    2) How are you feeling? Ok, nauseous a lot but still nothing compared with my first baby so I'm not complaining.
    3) Any appointments or tests this week? Nope
    4) Rants/Raves/Questions? Just that I took DS to story time today and there was one dad there and the librarian was going on and on about how nice it is for a dad to be there because they can lift the bigger children for the songs etc. like come on lady, us moms lift our toddlers all day long and bring them to every story time etc and no one says a word. Maybe it's the hormones but that annoyed me.
    5) GTKY - are you planning on daycare (home or center), nanny, grandparents, or one of you staying at home? My son is currently watched by my mom who lives with us. She just got certified for in home daycare so this one and hopefully 1-2 other kids will be joining in at some point.
  • @mariposa_767s I just went ahead and got the one pair because EVERY waistband including my leggings and sweats was super uncomfortable. I'm just embracing the blump and knowing I'll be glad I've got the jeans once it becomes a bump!
  • 1) How many weeks are you?
    7 weeks

    2) How are you feeling?
    Tired and nauseated some days.

    3) Any appointments or tests this week?
    No.

    4) Rants/Raves/Questions?
Morning sickness is no fun. I never had it in any previous pregnancy, so I hoped I could skip it this time around.

    5) GTKY - are you planning on daycare (home or center), nanny, grandparents, or one of you staying at home?
Most likely this LO will be in half-day daycare, since I work part-time. DD stayed home with me for a few months, and then she received care from a family member until she started half-day preschool. Eventually she transitioned to half-day preschool and half-day daycare a year and a half before starting kindergarten.
  • 1) How many weeks are you? 9!
    2) How are you feeling? I haven't had it bad at all this pregnancy, but in the last week some of the digestive issues I've been having have gotten better and I have just a little more energy.
    3) Any appointments or tests this week? No, but I did get results back yesterday and my 1 hour glucose test done at my 8 week visit came back elevated. I will have to do the 3 hour at my 12 week appointment. They also detected GBS in my urine test so I am taking antibiotics. Next appointment is the NT scan on 4/28 and 12 week appointment on 5/2.
    4) Rants/Raves/Questions? Not really
    5) GTKY - are you planning on daycare (home or center), nanny, grandparents, or one of you staying at home? I worked full time with my other kids. In October I quit and work gig jobs around the kids school schedule. When the baby comes, I will probably be at home and just work when I can on weekends and evenings.

  • 1) How many weeks are you? 9
    2) How are you feeling? still like hell.  Today wasn't bad, yesterday not only did I want to pass out several times during the shift my stomach was not copperating.  Exhaustion has hit harder this week.
    3) Any appointments or tests this week?
    No ma'ams
    4) Rants/Raves/Questions? we told my DD this week, she is excited for a baby. She's hoping for a girl...or a boy...either one. And she is micromanaging my pregnancy now which is adorable, she's 5.  My husband and I got into it last night, all out about household work, it ended with him apologizing and saying I could make a chart for him to go by.
    5) GTKY - are you planning on daycare (home or center), nanny, grandparents, or one of you staying at home?
I'm not sure. I was able to have my mom watch DD before she was in school.  Now I still work 3 12+'s a week and my schedule always changes but my mom had neurosurgery this past November so she's not quite better yet. We'll have to see. I'd hate to pay out all our money for daycare.

  • 1) How many weeks are you?
    9
    2) How are you feeling?
A little less gross but so, so tired and easily frustrated by everything
    3) Any appointments or tests this week?
none. Had my first ob visit last week and next at 12
    4) Rants/Raves/Questions?
My 2.5yo is hitting a really stubborn streak that is driving us bananas
    5) GTKY - are you planning on daycare (home or center), nanny, grandparents, or one of you staying at home?
I am a W/SAHM (artist) and send DS to half days 3x week. Also caring for my mom in our home so not really taking on much work right now. Not sure how all this will balance out, but my in laws do help some. We will likely need them more.
  • Oops, a day late. Busy week. :(

    1) How many weeks are you?
    9 weeks
    2) How are you feeling?
Meh... nausea, chills, headache, fatigue, food aversions.  Also, started a little cramping today which was fun.
    3) Any appointments or tests this week?
Nope, no appointments until the 28th.
    4) Rants/Raves/Questions?
Just tired of waiting to my appointment.  Having a really hard time finding heartbeat on home fetal doppler because my uterus is tilted.
    5) GTKY - are you planning on daycare (home or center), nanny, grandparents, or one of you staying at home?
I get 18 weeks paid leave, partner is staying home 4 weeks. After that, she'll go back to work full time until I go back to work and then she's cutting back hours to 2-3 days a week.  Daycare is too expensive, we'd save more money if she was a SAHM than doing daycare. The nice thing is that I can do some of my work from home, so even though I'll be working full time, I can do some days from home and work out a balance with that and maybe some family help to avoid daycare. We'll see!
