Re: FTM Check-In 4/11

  • 1) How far along are you? According to me 9 +3, according to ob based on LMP 9 +6
    2) Any appointments this week or last week? How did it go? Genetic counseling on Thursday
    3) Cravings/symptoms? It changes every. Single. Day. Had some RLP last night and feeling generally blah today.
    4) Rants/raves/concerns? So ready for 12 week appt so we can start sharing the good news.
    5) Anything else you want to add/ask? not yet...haha

@irishfrisky Oh no what a stressful experience with the student! I'm so relieved it was good news for you after that.

    @DuchessOfCambridge Cute pic!

    1) How far along are you? 10+4

    2) Any appointments this week or last week? How did it go? First OB appt is on Monday

    3) Cravings/symptoms? I crave zero foods. Just craving sleep. I have started getting a permanent pooch though! Hoping it looks more like pregnancy and less like poochiness soon...

    4) Rants/raves/concerns? Just reeeeeally hoping the nausea will go away soon. I was lurking October yesterday to see if they don't have it anymore but it wasn't encouraging.

    5) Anything else you want to add/ask? Is anyone else having a CVS done? Mine is late next week and I'm curious to hear others' timing.

    6) GTKY:  We had an outdoor wedding and I wore a white dress with purple ribbons (my favorite color!). It was a bit overcast the morning we did pictures so they actually came out stunning with the soft sunlight.

    1) How far along are you? 9 weeks 6 days
    2) Any appointments this week or last week? How did it go? u/s last week showed two wiggly little ones with strong heartbeats.
    3) Cravings/symptoms? Nauseous all the time, puking once in a while, so much bloat, last night I dreamed about eating all the donuts and wouldn't mind one now.
    4) Rants/raves/concerns? Even after a great u/s last week, I'm still anxious about vanishing twin, or even losing both. Also can't wait to be able to make this public, partly because I've been so sick and people ask what's up and how am I and I kind of blow them off because I can't tell the truth.
    5) Anything else you want to add/ask? BF has always been sweet, but now that I'm pregnant he's taken it to another level and I'm so happy that he's so happy. He can't wait to have "two little creatures".
    6) GTKY: Since some of us are having body image issues, let's talk about a day where we all looked absolutely gorgeous: our weddings! What was your favorite part? What dress did you wear? Bonus points for pictures! If you're not married yet/don't plan to be, share what your upcoming wedding will be like or a day your SO made you feel truly beautiful. Last night, after several days of not showering and wearing the same pajamas all weekend, I got fancied up for Passover. BF kept saying how pretty I looked all night, and kept smelling my hair and saying I smelled good. I was like yeah, I showered.
My body image issues are that I've lost all my muscle weight due to being too sick to work out, and my legs, butt and arms look skinny and gross. But I'm too focused on bebes to care as much as I would otherwise.

@irishfrisky So sorry that your u/s was a little nervewracking! But isn't it amazing when you see that little flicker of the heartbeat?
    @DuchessOfCambridge FX you're not getting a cold
@adirat  I think I have the pooch starting too! It's a little higher than I was expecting, but it doesn't fluctuate like the bloating.

    1) How far along are you?
    9w5d
    2) Any appointments this week or last week? How did it go? Just a quick office visit on Thursday to go over my lab work from the last appointment and to do a blood draw for NIPT.
    3) Cravings/symptoms? Meh, nothing new here.
    4) Rants/raves/concerns? We told two of our close friends this past weekend and they were so happy. They were also relieved that pregnancy-- not serious illness and/or head injury-- was the reason I turned down a mimosa (that may be the first time in history that I've ever done that ;) ) We're telling my in-laws this weekend when we're together for Easter. I'm excited that we can finally start sharing the news!
    5) Anything else you want to add/ask? Nope!
    6) GTKY: Since some of us are having body image issues, let's talk about a day where we all looked absolutely gorgeous: our weddings! What was your favorite part? What dress did you wear? We got married on a beautiful fall day in October. I LOVED my dress- it was the first one that I saw in a bridal magazine and the first one that I tried on.

  • 1) How far along are you? Almost 7 weeks (6w6d but haven't had my first appointment yet!)
    2) Any appointments this week or last week? How did it go? No appointment yet! Counting the days.
    3) Cravings/symptoms? So much bloating starting right around 5pm. Some food aversions and mild cramping-nothing too terrible!
    4) Rants/raves/concerns? I know I'll be kicking myself some day for saying it- but I have had mild symptoms so far and it is making me a tiny bit concerned. I know, pregnancy symptoms don't always correlate to a healthy pregnancy, but I sometimes want to feel more pregnant. I am probably crazy for typing that--I will revisit this thought in coming months and want to slap myself, I'm sure.
    5) Anything else you want to add/ask? This forum and site has been a lifesaver! It is so nice to see how everyone is feeling. I'm excited for everyone!

We were married 4 years ago in a beautiful old church surrounded by family. It was the most sweet, happy, lovely day and I remember feeling so calm.

    2) Any appointments this week or last week?
    How did it go?
My first appt was last week, but it was just an introduction/paperwork/make appointments kind of thing.
    3) Cravings/symptoms?
Symptoms have basically disappeared, although I am still tired and my boobs are still sore.
    4) Rants/raves/concerns?
Rave: Spring Break is the best!
Rant: The supplier that we have used for many years to buy wax for our business was acquired and now doesn't sell to small customers like us. So, not only do we have to work with a new supplier, the wax is now significantly more expensive, which means we'll have to raise prices :(
    5) Anything else you want to add/ask?
    Nope, I don't think so...
    6) GTKY: Since some of us are having body image issues, let's talk about a day where we all looked absolutely gorgeous: our weddings!
My wedding was the best day of my life! It was so much fun :) We had it at my parent's house and we did basically everything ourselves - food, dessert, music, flowers, favors. We even built the dance floor and brewed the beer. Everyone had a great time and we danced the night away. I don't think it could have been better. Will post a pic when I'm on my computer :)

    2) Any appointments this week or last week? How did it go? First appt 4/19, 1 week today!
    3) Cravings/symptoms? still exhausted all the time, sore boobs keep growing (and I'm small so it's really noticeable), nausea is easing up
    4) Rants/raves/concerns?
    **TW**
I still have yet to see a Dr, only had a phone interview. I'm getting really anxious b/c I have no confirmation and I keep hearing about missed miscarriages, on here and IRL. I'm just so afraid something like that is going to happen. Ugh, It's so hard not to worry  :/

    5) Anything else you want to add/ask? Not that I can think of.
    6) GTKY:  My wedding day was absolutely amazing and perfect. We had a beautiful beach wedding in South Carolina where I'm from. We rented a 10-bedroom mansion and had the reception in the yard around the pool (only about 70 people.) My brother built a giant dance floor over the hot tub and we rented a DJ and had a Caterer. There was a marble-top bar outside so we bought a ton of booze and payed a local bartender to serve all night. Everyone had such a blast and it was an amazing night. And afterwards our closest friends and family stayed with us in the house for the week before we left for our honeymoon. My favorite part was having my mother there the entire time. She passed away 3 years ago, and I'm so thankful she got to share our wedding with us.

    1) How far along are you? 7 weeks 5 days
    2) Any appointments this week or last week? How did it go? Second ultrasound tomorrow! Then (assuming all is well) I will "graduate" to my OB and I have my first appointment there next week. (I'm currently under the care of a fertility doctor, though my pregnancy happened to be spontaneous.)
    3) Cravings/symptoms? Not so much cravings as aversions to almost everything. It's very hard to find things I can eat. I'm nauseated most of the time, and my boobs look great.
    4) Rants/raves/concerns? Well, I guess my rave is that my boobs looks great. :) And I'm pregnant! :) Rant is that my new thing for the past week or so has been waking up in the middle of the night to pee every night, and/or waking up starving in the middle of the night.
    5) Anything else you want to add/ask?
    6) GTKY: Since some of us are having body image issues, let's talk about a day where we all looked absolutely gorgeous: our weddings! What was your favorite part? What dress did you wear? Bonus points for pictures! I loved our whole wedding, ceremony and reception. The best part was probably when everybody got on the dance floor during/after my husband's dance with his mother. They picked a super fun song and invited everyone to come join them and the dance floor totally blew up. It was such an awesome start to the party. My dress was a silk ball gown (but not poofy... though I love poofy ball gowns too) from J.Crew. I loooove it. (Pic in spoiler box is not me... it's J.Crew's pic.)

  • 1) How far along are you? 11w3d
    2) Any appointments this week or last week? How did it go? My first OB appointment was yesterday and I heard the heartbeat (150)! First trimester screening ultrasound on Monday.
    3) Cravings/symptoms? Nausea is finally starting to ease this week! It is not constant and no vomiting! Pancakes seems to be my one favorite food. DH made us Mickey Mouse shaped pancakes a couple of nights ago... I think he may be starting to get tired of pancakes!  ;)
    4) Rants/raves/concerns? Rant - I'm frustrated with myself for still feeling so much anxiety, even though all of our appointments have gone well... still waiting to worry less and enjoy more! Rave - We went camping this past weekend and it was nice to relax!
    5) Anything else you want to add/ask? They said my due date is actually October 29th! And here I am trying to be a November mom and hang out on this board  :*  Oh well!
    6) GTKY: Since some of us are having body image issues, let's talk about a day where we all looked absolutely gorgeous: our weddings! What was your favorite part? What dress did you wear? I am not a big makeup or hair person, so it was so fun to get all made up and my hair done! I wore an off-white strapless dress and DH loved it!

    2) Any appointments this week or last week? How did it go? First ultrasound yesterday. It was really exciting to see our baby for the first time. HB was 164 and measuring right on track.
    3) Cravings/symptoms? Ugh...the nausea has crept into the day and have had a few vomiting episodes. I have started taking the B6/unisom combination and it helps a little, but I just feel like blah.
    4) Rants/raves/concerns? Nothing at this point.
    5) Anything else you want to add/ask? Nope

I was so happy we actually got married in August on our 10th anniversary. It was great weather, the location was beautiful and we had about 90 people. I wore a Casablanca Couture dress that I got for a really great price at a sample sale ($800--normally $1,500). It had scalloped edge lace, was strapless and a cream color.

This is a pic of the front (sorry it's huge). Only downside was it had 6 layers and was really heavy, so the top kept falling down. This is one of the last moments before it started slipping.

    2) Any appointments this week or last week? How did it go? Still not yet

    3) Cravings/symptoms? I've had some nausea this week and eating has become a challenge. I'm tired today so DH and I decided to get Panera for dinner instead of cooking. All I want is a loaf of French baguette.

    4) Rants/raves/concerns?
DH made up for "wondering why" I could possibly feel sick on Monday by bringing me Tums, Gas-x and Ensure on Tuesday. He said that according to his research they are ok to have and help some women.  So he's my rave.

    5) Anything else you want to ask/add?
If you are doing this and you already have small children you are a saint. I can't even give my cat the attention he wants right now, I can't imagine trying to keep another person alive and happy.

    6) GTKY: Since some of us are having body image issues, let's talk about a day where we all looked absolutely gorgeous: our weddings! What was your favorite part? What dress did you wear? Yay weddings!! I loved mine! My reception was at the zoo and the wedding party had a little time to kill before the guests got there so we just hung out at the zoo and took some silly pictures. I think that ended up being my favorite part of the day.
  • 1) How far along are you? 7w1d
    2) Any appointments this week or last week? How did it go? First ultrasound TOMORROW! I'm actually not too nervous because the sickness has gotten so much worse and healthy baby is the only explanation.
    3) Cravings/symptoms?  Right now I desperately need a veggie sandwich from Jimmy Johns with extra cheese and extra avocado. But most of the time I'm just so so so sick. The last two days have been horrible and I cried on my husband's lap for like half an hour. Diclegis isn't helping.
    4) Rants/raves/concerns?  All I want is to be able to get out of bed without the overwhelming urge to puke. So grateful for this baby I've waited for for so long but oh my gosh I was so unprepared for how hard this part would be.
    5) Anything else you want to add/ask?  Is anyone else fighting guilt over being upset about how sick they are?? I feel terrible for wishing this was easy.
    6) GTKY: Since some of us are having body image issues, let's talk about a day where we all looked absolutely gorgeous: our weddings! What was your favorite part? What dress did you wear? My dress was nearly identical in most ways to Monica's in Friends. Very timeless. I wish I could wear it every day! I think my favorite part was being with just my mom and best friend while getting ready. I actually had the flu, so I was pretty miserable, but they made it easier to remember why we were there and why I hadn't eloped like I originally wanted!
  • 1) How far along are you? 7w6d
    2) Any appointments this week or last week? How did it go? Had one last Tuesday. They did a transvaginal ultrasound. Heartbeat was 138. The tech was unsure whether there were 2 babies. They only did visual, no sound. It sure looked like only one to me, but we'll see on the 21st when I go back. (Fingers crossed for just one baby.)
    3) Cravings/symptoms? My boobs are always tender. Totally bloated all the time.
    4) Rants/raves/concerns? Rant: Totally over waking up at 3am to pee. That's been happening since the day before we found out. Also, I think I officially outgrown my bras as of today, but I hate bra shopping...
    5) Anything else you want to add/ask?
    6) GTKY: Since some of us are having body image issues, let's talk about a day where we all looked absolutely gorgeous: our weddings! What was your favorite part? What dress did you wear? Bonus points for pictures!
We got married last October. I'm too lazy to go grab the drive with pics on it right now, but I'll post one later. My dress was this big princess dress that my aunt made me try on and I immediately loved it.

  • @kaitieb14 your feelings are understandable. I love that I'm pregnant and want it to stay that way but having horrific cramps that I can't do anything about is really awful. Tylenol doesn't help so I just have to deal with the pain. I almost miss the nausea though I'm sure I'll be kicking myself for that one later. It's pretty crazy how pregnant women are expected to go about their days as usual. Throw up and get right back to business no matter how terrible you feel.

  • kaitieb14 I completely understand. I am very grateful to be pregnant, but going on 2 weeks of nausea, vomiting, fatigue and no appetite is taking its toll.
  • 1) How far along are you? 10 weeks 4 days but 10 weeks 6 days according to the ultrasound. Not ready to switch my ticker day because I love my ticker day group, and also I feel like it could change again? I dunno.
    2) Any appointments this week or last week? How did it go? I had my first ultrasound on Monday and it was the most beautiful experience of my life. I cried. A lot. My best friend and DH were both able to come so that meant a lot to me
    3) Cravings/symptoms? my symptoms have been so good and coming and going so I've only thrown up 2 times since Monday and dry have once. I've been getting a bit of my energy back and being able to spend time with my step kids again has been great.
    4) Rants/raves/concerns? not really much to say... my grandma has been sick for awhile but she and I are really close. We usually talk on the phone everyday but since I've been so tired and pregnant we haven't been doing that. She was admitted to the hospital today which is pretty upsetting and there is a correlation between how I am feeling emotionally and how my symptoms are physically. That being said right now I feel like shit. Pretty much just lying in bed sucking on ice cubes, crying and piled high with blankets. She commented the other day that she's not sure she will make it until the baby is born. And that really hurt.
    5) Anything else you want to add/ask? nope.
    6) GTKY: Since some of us are having body image issues, let's talk about a day where we all looked absolutely gorgeous: our weddings! What was your favorite part? What dress did you wear? we never got married because of a lot of different things. Essentially we decided that traveling with the family was more important than throwing a wedding  also realized that since he's greek and my MIL is crazy there's no way we could get away with a small intimate wedding. We consider eachother husband/wife so yeah. I do remember this one day when we were driving and stopped at a red light and he randomly reached over and strokes my cheek. Never in my life have I felt that amazing or beautiful or whole.  He does tell me I'm gorgeous every single day, especially now because he knows I'm having a difficult time with my weight gain. When I comment about being fat he says "so am i" which doesn't really make me feel better... but he's always been the type to make jokes.  He tries, he really does adlnd I know that he genuinely believes that I look good even when I know I don't, so that's nice

  • Finally on my computer, so here's the promised wedding pic. I actually really loved getting to look back through my pictures in order to pick one out - smiles!
