How far along are you & how big is baby? 22 weeks and the size of corn on the cob
Upcoming appointments? End of April
Symptoms? Getting bad heartburn this week
Cravings? A bunch of stuff but it all gives me heartburn now
Rants/Raves/Questions? Still waiting on some paperwork so we know exactly when DH is supposed to take off and it's stressing me out hardcore.
GTKY: If you had to choose to live without one of your five senses, which one would you give up? (touch, smell, hearing, sight, taste) I'd probably give up my sense of smell. I feel like I could still have a fairly normal life without a sense of smell. I'd be paranoid I smelled bad all the time though.
@Nxy I feel like all my responses would just look similarly copy cat-ish. I hope you all get to find out soon. It makes me anxious having to wait on someone/something to be able to make plans or know what's going on.
How far along are you & how big is baby? 22 weeks- coconut Upcoming appointments? End of the month Symptoms? Heartburn and back pain. I'm also hungry all time and have been getting a tad light headed. Cravings? Begines with bacon and fruit Rants/Raves/Questions? We are starting to try and put together a registry and I'm probably over thinking it, but it's a lot of research. I'm trying to pick an area at a time ( sleeping, swings, bottles, diapers etc) and talk to DH and make a decision for each area about what we want. We've both been learning a lot, but now I'm reading back through some of the threads about recommendations for different things.
I'm also going to be going from working full time to being a SAHM. I'm not sure that I have specific questions yet, but I guess in general I'd like to read about how other moms transitioned and how they prepared or just general advice. I wasn't sure if that'd be a good thread to start or not, but I am curious to read about others experiences.
GTKY: If you had to choose to live without one of your five senses, which one would you give up? (touch, smell, hearing, sight, taste)
How far along are you & how big is baby? 22 weeks and a guinea pig (are we all synced up here?)
Upcoming appointments? Next month
Symptoms? Sciatica in my right hip, although it's been better the last few days. My off-brand snoogle and maternity belt must be helping. Also, my husband tells me I've been snoring extra loud and has landed on the couch the last few nights--oops!
Cravings? More substantial dinners. I've usually gotten away with something light or egg-based, but now I'm craving meat.
Rants/Raves/Questions? The sciatica really. I couldn't even get out of a chair without pain on Tuesday, but a belt has helped a lot (in that I don't cry during my lunch break). I work with an also pregnant PT that said hers faded as baby changed position, and I'm going to naively hope that happens to me.
GTKY: If you had to choose to live without one of your five senses, which one would you give up? (touch, smell, hearing, sight, taste) Before I even saw the other posters I thought smell. I probably use it much more than I realize, but I'm not one of those people that relishes in smells. In fact, lots of fragrance gives me headaches--Bath and Body Works is a nightmare.
How far along are you & how big is baby? 22 weeks; 1.2 lb
Upcoming appointments? April 27th. Glucose test!
Symptoms? Still getting some gas, still puking, and still getting headaches
Cravings? Ice cream. Ben and Jerry's.
Rants/Raves/Questions? Getting off the couch is fun! I do some rolling, grunting, and some hoisting. Full body workout right there! Also, shaving my legs is not fun! I literally see other pregnant woman looking flawless and I keep asking myself " how? I can barely get off the couch/ out of bed somedays let alone put on heels!"
GTKY: If you had to choose to live without one of your five senses, which one would you give up? I think I could give up sight. I love music too much to give up hearing. I'm a foodie, so no way will I give up taste.
How far along are you & how big is baby? 19 Weeks / Gameboy
Upcoming appointments? Not until 4/25 (anatomy scan).
Symptoms? No energy. Big appetite.
Cravings? Still lots of protein.
Rants/Raves/Questions? I'm feeling movement every day now.
GTKY: If you had to choose to live without one of your five senses, which one would you give up? (touch, smell, hearing, sight, taste) Smell seems like it would have the least effect on my lifestyle, so that's my pick.
How far along are you & how big is baby? 22 weeks - size of a guinea pig
Upcoming appointments? Tomorrow - officials A/S results and I'll know (finally) if I'm out of the woods for having to have an ovary out next month or if it can wait (fingers crossed we wait!)
Symptoms? Pelvic pressure, emotional lately lol - that's been fun.
Cravings? No particular ones but with this nice weather I'd love a glass of wine or a draft beer right about now
Rants/Raves/Questions? My sister is putting way too much pressure on my to include my mother in stuff. She and my mom are besties - I prefer my mother in smaller doses. the nursery came a long way this weekend. I love sitting in the room already and it's not even half way done.
GTKY: If you had to choose to live without one of your five senses, which one would you give up? (touch, smell, hearing, sight, taste) That's a tough one!! I think taste - I could at least still smell it based on the question.
Me: 37 DH: 37 - Married 10.2015 ❤️ Canadian DX: Endometriosis - Stage 4, DOR, RPL
@erindippity I found lucieslist.com really helpful with DS 1 figuring out my registry. I think a thread where people could share ideas and even their registry's would be really helpful.
How far along are you & how big is baby?
19 Weeks the size of a hot dog
Upcoming appointments?
Not for a month. Found out last week we are having a boy! We are so excited!
Symptoms?
Just having the hardest time sleeping.
Cravings?
All the smoothies please.
Rants/Raves/Questions?
DH got some pretty awful news at work- he is doing his PH.D and his funding is being cut in August (great timing) which means no more $$. He has about a year r so left so now he has to find a job and simultaniously continue on with his PH.D. It was a shock and is super stresful.
GTKY: If you had to choose to live without one of your five senses, which one would you give up? (touch, smell, hearing, sight, taste)
I would say smell- wouldn't want to give up the others.
How far along are you & how big is baby? 20 weeks - banana
Upcoming appointments? Nothing this week. I have a regular checkup on the 21st.
Symptoms? Nothing new although I'm noticing lower back pain more when I get up from the bed. It goes away, but it makes trips to the bathroom uncomfortable.
Cravings? Fruit, especially cantaloupe and pineapple, and chocolate.
Rants/Raves/Questions? Not looking forward to the dietary restrictions of Passover this week. I already have enough stomach issues so I'll be staying away from matzo as much as possible. I did buy some chocolate covered matzo though because I know I'll want to have some chocolate/dessert.
GTKY: If you had to choose to live without one of your five senses, which one would you give up? (touch, smell, hearing, sight, taste) Probably smell because that seems like it would have the least impact. I'm sure it would make eating less enjoyable, but I can't imagine giving up the other senses.
How far along are you & how big is baby? 21 weeks, size of a baseball hat
Upcoming appointments? May 4th.
Symptoms? Food aversions still at it. I do have great energy though!
Cravings? I wanted flour tortillas yesterday and fruit. So we bought a ton of fruit.
Rants/Raves/Questions? We need to clear out our 4th bedroom/office to be the baby's nursery. I don't want to be 2 days before delivery and we are scrambling like when we had my son. But then again I did have my son early.
GTKY: If you had to choose to live without one of your five senses, which one would you give up? this one is tough. I say smell, just bec after working in the solid waste business my noise became desensitized and when people complain about the simplest odors in my current workplace I tell them I can't smell what they're smelling. Plus there's no real concrete numbers for odor exposure limits its all based on perception. LOL.
How far along are you & how big is baby? 22 weeks - water bottle
Upcoming appointments? Not for a couple more weeks
Symptoms? Round ligament pain boo
Cravings? Chocolate and all the desserts
Rants/Raves/Questions? DH has to have wrist surgery in a couple of weeks- no heavy lifting for him. I'm sure my 2.5 will be very understanding.
GTKY: If you had to choose to live without one of your five senses, which one would you give up? (touch, smell, hearing, sight, taste) another for no smell.
@erindippity for the registry from Lucie's list: https://docs.google.com/spreadsheets/d/1IugsUXAnYqBtntPL2L-3xfc7IdKE_O3SAk0rK8UgmNE/edit I went from working to SAHM with DD. The first few months you won't need more than a book or TV to stay busy with a newborn. After that I'd try and make other SAHM friends. Make sure you're getting out of the house. It's really easy to slip into depression transitioning from working to staying at home with all the hormones mixed in. It's also really easy to miss that you've become a hermit person because with baby it's easier to just stay home. If you are able try once a week or month or whatever works for your family to get out of the house alone. Spend sometime alone, it doesn't need to be anything special just a trip to target will feel like a vacation. Don't be afraid to ask your SO for help. I know it feels like you should be able to handle the household day to day stuff because you're home all day but sometimes you'll want a break or need a hand. I've seen a lot of moms transition to staying home and suddenly their spouse thinks they have a maid, don't let that happen. Just because you stay at home doesn't mean you SO is off the hook for ever doing chores.
@Nxy Yes, I have. I take a prenatal yoga class once a week and I've been trying to do little stretches every day. My hip feels sooooo much better today than it did all last week. I also finally got a pregnancy pillow which I also think helped give my hips a break during the night.
How far along are you & how big is baby? 20 Weeks, 5 days! He's a banana
Upcoming appointments? End of the month
Symptoms? Killer heartburn if I'm not careful. I learned the hard way that seltzer now gives me heartburn.
Cravings? Green peppers
Rants/Raves/Questions? What the hell seltzer? Why you have to give me heartburn????
GTKY: If you had to choose to live without one of your five senses, which one would you give up? (touch, smell, hearing, sight, taste) Hands down it would be hearing. I think that's the one I would adjus the easiest with.
