Cravings? some days all I want to do is eat and others I don't want anything at all

Rants/Raves/Questions? Just really looking forward to meeting DD#2 and feeling better.

Team Pink/Blue/Green? Name? Pink / Scarlett

GTKY: What are your favorite fast food restaurants? (I always think it's fun to hear about what's popular in different areas of the country!)  I think my current favorite is probably 5 Guys although I do like Wendy's too!

How big is baby? butternut squash

Any appointments this week? I had a routine OB appointment yesterday. My BP was slightly elevated, but urine sample came back clear. I also found out baby is head down! This is exciting since DD was breech and I'm hoping for a VBAC.

    Symptoms? Nothing new

    Cravings? Not really, sweets maybe?

Rants/Raves/Questions? I'm just getting nervous about it all...labor, parenting two (especially after DD's epic meltdown this morning), remembering new infant stuff...

    Team Pink/Blue/GreenName? Blue, probably Isaiah

GTKY: What are your favorite fast food restaurants? Chick-Fil-A is yummy. I also love a local chain called My Burger. The burgers are so fresh and tasty.

How big is baby? Cantaloupe or basketball hoop. Those things seem so different, but I'm just going by what the apps say.

Any appointments this week? Starting next Thursday, I'm on weekly visits with my midwife.

Symptoms? Carpal tunnel started this week, and I hate it. I'm talking to an acupuncturist right now about getting some treatment. The wrist brace isn't cutting it.

Cravings? I've started getting sick again and that makes me want sour things.

Rants/Raves/Questions? Other than ranting about my annoying carpal tunnel, I'm ok.

On the the plus side, my husband is starting a new job with better pay and benefits. :)

Team Pink/Blue/GreenName? Blue. No name yet.

GTKY: What are your favorite fast food restaurants? I love Braum's ice cream. I guess I'll go with Subway for food, since vegetarian food isn't always easy to find in fast food places. Taco Bell has a good menu too, but I have had food poisoning from them before.
  • @jdebaie my heart burn is killing me too. I only posted about my carpal tunnel previously, but yeah, the heartburn sucks. May need to get something stronger than Tums pretty soon.
  • @MollyandD Braum's milkshakes are THE BEST! I miss Braums. Sorry about your carpal tunnel! I had it with DD and it went away at birth. FX you get some relief!

@KMD1106 so excited DS is head down!! Praying you get the VBAC you're hoping for! I'm with you about freaking out about parenting 2. DD is very very attached to me. I also keep pretending labor isn't really about to happen...ha

    @jdebaie sorry about your HB!

  • How far along are you? 35 weeks  :o

    How big is baby? Pineapple!

    Any appointments this week? Nope

Symptoms? My feet has started to swell a bit. Annoying.

    Cravings? Just salty foods

Rants/Raves/Questions? Being pregnant and clothes/shoe shopping is the worst.

    Team Pink/Blue/GreenName? Blue! Sebastian

GTKY: What are your favorite fast food restaurants? Does Panera Bread count as fast food? I could eat there everyday. I also love Mooyah! Mmmmm I'm hungry.

  • How far along are you? 33 weeks!

How big is baby? Celery stalk, ferret

Any appointments this week? I made an appointment on Wednesday to see a new OB. I love my midwives and still want to give birth with them, but I am worried about risking out of being in their care and sometimes they are too slow to respond, so I thought touching base with an OB couldn't hurt. I'm thinking of it as a consult.

Symptoms? Aches and pains galore. Flu on top of it all. Insomnia.

Cravings? Not really. Poor appetite. I've been enjoying protein smoothies and healthy ice cream because it feels good on my sore throat.

Rants/Raves/Questions? I'm really annoyed that my midwives took 2+ days and 2 phone calls to call me back. It makes me feel obnoxious and needy, which maybe I am, but I feel they should be more prompt and responsive. I also feel like sometimes they can't actually handle me, like my case is too "complex". They've only had 2 other mamas with GD. That makes me nervous. I am a young healthy woman, but not a healthy pregnant woman. It's been one thing after another it feels, and while I like them and their approach when they do respond, I feel like it's so much work on my end and half the time I can't get all my answers in one visit/phone call.

    Team Pink/Blue/Green? Name? Green!

GTKY: What are your favorite fast food restaurants? (I always think it's fun to hear about what's popular in different areas of the country!)
I grew up near a Taco Bell, and that was one of the only fast food places around, so I will always love TB. Now that I live in the south (NC) I like Cook Out, mainly for their hush puppies and shakes.
  • How far along are you? 33 weeks!

How big is baby? Cauliflower, a ferret

Any appointments this week? Not until next Friday- and it's the first time I'll be bringing DS1 with me, so that should be interesting...haha. His daycare and my work are both closed for Good Friday (although my PC work calls it "Spring Holiday"), so we are having a mama/baby fun day!

Symptoms? Heartburn, occasional backaches, hunger, lots of sweet baby kicks

Cravings? Not really, I pretty much just enjoy all foods at this point...haha

Rants/Raves/Questions? Rant directed at the people I've seen on here complaining about baby movements. I know the person who mentioned being annoyed by them on a UO yesterday was immediately flamed, but I've seen multiple people complain about baby movements and I don't get it. Baby movements and maternity pants are the greatest part of pregnancy and probably the only things I'll miss.

    Team Pink/Blue/GreenName? Blue, Henry :)

GTKY: What are your favorite fast food restaurants? Hmmmm...probably Panera. I also have a weakness for McFlurries and McDonald's fries, but I don't eat anything else from there.

@jayandaplus I almost put Cook Out. I loooove their BBQ Sandwiches.
I'm sorry you aren't happy with your midwives. Hopefully you will like this OB.
    ETA and feel better soon!!
  • @kayemjay2 - nothing beats McDonald's fries!

@mollyandd - the heartburn is the worst! I'm already on two Zantac a day as well as Tums, I will not miss this part of pregnancy at all!

@KMD1106 Cook out is more of a south thing I believe. Their food is fine, but in my opinion, their milkshakes are off the wall. Like, hands down, no one makes better. They have like a million flavors, too. (Now I'm wanting a banana fudge and I can't because I have GD!)
  • @KMD1106 Mooyah is a Buger Place! You choose your meat, bun, and all the toppings. They have great sweet potato fries and their turkey burger is fab! I know they are in the west and on the east coast to a point. They aren't super huge yet! We first had it in Texas.
  • @jayandaplus my midwife sees me like an OB-GYN would. It's once every 4 weeks, then goes to every 2 weeks, and finally, every week. Usually, I'd go to weekly visits from 36 weeks on, but the way our appointments fell, my last from the every 2 weeks schedule backs up to 36 weeks.
  • How far along are you? 36 weeks! I was thinking how I have 4ish weeks to go which is meh, but next week that will become 3ish weeks and 3 just sounds crazy, like...what?!

How big is baby? Honeydew melon, 2 plates of beignets, and I'm thinking around 6lbs? Supposedly baby was 4.5ish lbs 4 weeks ago.

Any appointments this week? Just got back from one. HB is lowest its ever been at 135-145 (its normally 165-175), I'm about 1cm dilated, and baby is most definitely head down though still very high. Looking forward to a bit of a drop so I can breathe!

Symptoms? Restless leg syndrome at night, ughhhh. Acid reflux at night, some BH.

    Cravings? Nothing really right now.

Rants/Raves/Questions? Not at the moment, just getting excited.

Team Pink/Blue/Green? Name? Team green! Names are same as last week. I think we did decide 2 middle names if it's a girl.

GTKY: What are your favorite fast food restaurants? In n Out, I know there's another, but I cant think.

  • @kayemjay2 I keep a weekly pregnancy journal and one of the q's is favorite symptom and every week since I first felt baby move it's "movement!". Sometimes it hurts, but I LOVE it. It's amazing. I don't love the kicks in the ribs, but I just remember baby is cramped too!

  • @nda_roxybabe Love In N Out. I grew up in CA, and that was one of the only approved fast food places growing up. So good!
  • FFFC? I think In n Out is way overhyped. My DH is from California and then we also have them in Texas. I'm just like meh.

I also think Whataburger is nasty.
  • @nda_roxybabe - I haven't been to the west coast in a long time but I so want to try In-N-Out burger to see what all the hype is about!

  • @bacorrea It might be a born and bred west coast thing, because I've had other people say they're not big fans of In N Out, and I'm such a diehard I'll never understand.
  • @jayandaplus I think so too! DH just raves about it. He also thinks their shakes are the best in the whole world. It's funny how living in different places effects us!
  • How far along are you? 34 Weeks! How big is baby? Cantaloupe Any appointments this week? I had one today! It went good! Next one in 2 weeks! Symptoms? Tail bone pain, sciatic pain. Cravings? Not really this week. Rants/Raves/Questions? I had a great shower last weekend and was exhausted afterwards. We got so much stuff! I don't think anyone had trouble finding something to get even though we are team green. Team Pink/Blue/Green? Name? Green. We are still debating on names. GTKY: What are your favorite fast food restaurants? (I always think it's fun to hear about what's popular in different areas of the country!) Chik-fil-a, Moes (If that counts)
  • I hope everyone had a great Friday! I will try to respond to everyone tomorrow! I'm exhausted and about to head to bed early. Also, sorry that the Bump keeps consolidating my posts into one long paragraph.
  • SKZWSKZW member
@jdebaie: Standing up sometimes hurts me too. It's def difficult. I've started asking for a hand up to get out of this one couch we have.

@KMD1106: so glad to hear about the head-down status (also a bit jealous!)  ;)

@MollyandD: I've done acupuncture for other issues and have found it to be really helpful; hope you do too! And yay for your hubbs' new job!

@bacorrea: Yes, Panera counts! It's technically in the "fast casual" category, not really "fast food," but I think it's close enough. I looked at this huge Wikipedia list of FF restaurants and couldn't find any that I'd consider a favorite. But def Panera is my top choice!

@jayandaplus: 2 days and 2 phone calls would drive me beyond insanity! If even 4 hours go by on even a non-urgent but serious question and I don't get a callback, I'd be pissed off. Good for you for setting up an OB consult.

@kayemjay2: I agree with your sentiment on the baby movements. Every gurgle, ripple, kick, roll, jiggle, hiccup, weird shifting around, and using me as a legit punching bag only helps to reinforce for me that he's doing okay in there.

@jayandaplus: When you mentioned banana fudge, my brain flashed on this frozen treat from Trader Joe's called Gone Bananas. It's basically little slices of frozen bananas enrobed in chocolate, and it's a staple in my freezer in the summer. So yummy!

    @nda_roxybabe: 3 weeks left!! It's amazing.

@mspacman34: No worries about the paragraph-spacing issue, and I commiserate with you on computer woes. We are so dependent on technology (and it's awesome and helpful in so many ways!) but when it fails it's such a headache.
Back in the summer, I had copied out of my phone like 1200 photos, which was almost a year's worth of the best of my son's life, putting them onto my not-quite-one-year-old computer, and deleting them from my phone (to keep things clean). Then a few weeks later my computer completely crashed, and I hadn't backed anything up to the cloud or my external hard drive. That was totally on me, and I know it, but that failure (on such a new computer) completely devastated me for months. All of my work stuff was gone but mostly retrievable through emails and regular backups, but it was the loss of those photos that hurt the most. Then I had a horrible experience with acting on the SquareTrade protection plan, which compounded my sadness. But anyway, tech woes. Check. Can't ever trust it. Double check.

How far along are you? 34 weeks, holy crap!

Any appointments this week? Had a weekly u/s (for pre-e) and everything's status quo (which is great in terms of my BP, baby's health, etc.) but he's not head-down, and the doc's talking about manual spinning/version and induction in a few more weeks. New territory for me. Nervousness abounds.  :#

Rants/Raves/Questions? I got my new diaper bag delivered yest and I'm really happy with it!!

Team Pink/Blue/GreenName? Blue, and we're down to 5 names, with 3 favorites we keep circling back to.

GTKY: What are your favorite fast food restaurants? Panera! My hubbs and I spent (probably too much) time at TGIFriday's back in the day, too, even though that's technically more "casual dining" than "fast food" eating, but I loved the drink selection and apps.
  • @SKZW I've seen those Gone Bananas and never tried them. I love banana and chocolate, though, so I may take to those this summer! Thanks for the vote of confidence, I'm actually getting worried the OB consult won't work out because I have to work. We'll see.
There's plenty of time for baby to flip on his own. Did your MD talk about doing exercises at home to flip baby? Congrats on the diaper bag!
  • @SKZW, Fridays really does have good drinks! I'm excited to get whatever their triple berry tumbler thing is after baby comes!

@jayandaplus: I'm currently at 34 wks, and the doc is talking inducing at 37/38, so I'm starting to feel a time crunch for this flip! Yes, we talked about doing some positional exercises. I had printed out some from the spinning babies website & she signed off on my doing them. I've been upside-down each day since  :)

@KMD1106: I just spent like 10 mins looking at the drinks menu. Yum!
  • @KMD1106 Yay for baby being head down! I'm right there with you on beginning to get nervous! @MollyandD Sorry about the carpel tunnel and getting sick. I hope you get some relief soon! Also, congrats to your husband. That is awesome! @jayandaplus Are you feeling better from the flu? I'm sorry about your troubles with the midwifes. I hope things come together with them soon! @nda_roxybabe I really wish I could have some in n out right now! Hopefully, baby will drop soon! @SKZW Oh girl. My heart breaks just hearing about your computer trouble and losing your pictures. My OB said baby is head down now (34 weeks) but could still move out and even back to head down. FX your little ones goes head down soon!

@mspacman34, it's crazy how different OBs say different things. Mine said at my 34 week check up that if he's head down now, he's 75% likely to stay there. She said I'd feel obvious circus-like activity in there if he flips.
