Conceiving after Depo Provera

Did any of you conceive after being on Depo? I'm coming off of it soon and don't expect to be fertile right away. Just curious about how long it took post-depo for you to conceive, if you don't mind sharing.

HI there, I got off it May 2007 and it took my until June 2008 to get my period back. After that, it only took a few months to get pregnant. I never had a period when I was on the depo.

I should add that the last time I went off Depo it took 6 months to get my period back, the time before that was almost 9 months. So, I'm expecting something like 4-6 months this time.

I'm not planning to use any BC before my period comes back. I recognize the slight risk that we might be surprised before the period comes back but I don't think it's likely.

I know this is TTC related but I wanted to talk to women who have actually conceived after being on depo.?

I was on depo for about 2 years. It took me 1 year and 6 months to finally get pregnant. I'm 6 weeks and spotting and I'm wondering if the depo had anything to do with it.

Sylcar, what does your Dr. say about the spotting?

I had an ultrasound done right away after I told her about the spotting and I have been on bed rest since last week. I have my next appt next monday. All she said was that spotting occur to some women.

Best of luck with that. I can't think of any reason Depo would relate to spotting curing pregnancy because in order to conceive it would have to be out of your system.

My friend was on a camping trip when she was supposed to get her shot. I think she ended up being a week late getting it and got PG. I know this is like WAYYYY out of the ordinary, but it can happen!!

I was on Depo for 5 years and it took almost a year before I had a period again. But, once I had a regular cycle again, I got pregnant the next time I ovulated. GL!

I was on depo for about 3 years. I stopped in August 2007 and asked my GYN to put me back on Yasmin. So I went back on that until about July 2008. I never missed a period after the switch. I was able to get pregnant on my 3rd cycle.

I got the shot for almost 6 years. I got pregnantwhile waiting for the shot to get out of my system so that I could switch to the pill. 4 1/2 months between my last shot to the time I got my BFP.
