I've been craving Chick-fil-A, but they're all so far away, so I haven't been able to sate the craving. I've also had Portillo's chocolate cake shakes on the brain. They literally out a piece of chocolate cake in the cup. I want one SO bad. I should probably get one soon. I had GD with my DD (and my mom had it with me), so I'm sure I'll have it this time around too. Gotta squeeze in the goods before they're taken away from me! I've also had a major hankering for PB& strawberry J, so I've been eating those daily.
GTKY: I don't really have a favorite dish to make, but I'm really loving my skinnytaste fast and slow cookbook right now. The recipes are so delicious and they're pretty easy to make! Which is a necessity, because our kitchen rn is so tiny and hard to work in.
I had gestational diabetes with my first so I immediately cut down my carbs. I'm really hoping to avoid it this time. I've only wanted creamy sauces and bland tastes this week.
Favorite dish to make is tomato basil creamy pasta. Yum yum. Or curry. Also amazing.
Asian food. DH used to joke when I was pregnant with DD that her blood would be part soy sauce. It seems that craving will be the same for this one. I wanted two different dishes from two restaurants last night so we both had to stop on the way home from work.

I have absolutely no interest in sugar. They hand candy at work last night and I didn't want any of it, and the thought of putting syrup on my pancakes this morning? Yuk. Just butter please!
Cheese and sour cream ripple chips! I made my husband pick some up for me at midnight last night because the craving was real.
GTKY: I don't cook. My abilities end at making a mean roasted veggies side dish. My DH does almost all of the meal cooking at our house and he's super good at it.
@acgonzalez22, when I was pregnant with DD, I was sooooo sick. We went on a cruise when I was 7 weeks and all I ate the whole time was bagels and plain baked potatoes. so.many.carbs.

@ameliabedelia-2 Asian food is my thing. My DH side eyes me because I am always saying, "how about takeout?!"
So, I have A LOT of dietary restrictions. I am vegan and gluten free. I also have really bad IB which has been exacerbated with this pregnancy. Some of the strangest things will upset my stomach like chickpeas?! So unfortunately everything I am craving upsets my stomach. I want thai curry coconut soup all day everyday. But alas that would be a death sentence. So I have been eating a lot of cukes and spinach on gluten free toast. SO boring. I have an appointment with my OB today and she is going to set me up with a nutritionist to help me out.

That's great that your OB is setting you up with a nutritionist to help you out. Do you spiralize ever? MIL got us one last year and it has been a game changer! Chicken zoodle soup is a favorite. You can make so many different things with zucchini pasta.
@kbamomma33 Zoodles??? Never heard of it but now I am intrigued. DH is already harping on me about my diet. Apparently he wants to change everything to organic and no more processed foods. I just laughed at him. He is treating me and the little bean like delicate flowers.
Today's cravings were teriyaki seaweed, dried mango, and fries. ALWAYS FIRES.
Ugh I don't want to eat anything. i am perpetually hungry... but NOTHING looks appetizing. Basically forcing myself to eat because, well, I can't NOT. Mostly smoothies because I can cram nutritious things in a jug and drink it mindlessly...
Is it common to crave or want carbs while pregnant? It's all I ever wanted with DS and now with this one I just want potatoes in all forms and pasta. Lol
I'm all aboard the carb train too... I need to start meal planning again pronto or it's going to get ugly quick.
I made a chicken and wild rice casserole type thing in the crock pot and have been loving that all week. Add some ritz crackers on top and I'm a happy gal.
I definitely read this post standing in my kitchen, about to find a snack.
I didn't realize it until after my BFP, but I usually am not a huge ice cream person, but I've had a small cone a day for about a week now. And then yesterday the wee beb wanted a root beer float at 2 am. Today, I suddenly had a vision of sparkling pink lemonade, and now I must have it. I usually don't eat much more than one small meal and maybe a snack until DH comes home from work (and even then I sometimes have to force it down my throat) and then am ravenous and eat until sleepy time. Thursday, I HAD to have breakfast because I was super hungry, and I hadn't even found out I was pregnant yet.
So.much.water. I have kidney issues so I'm carrying around my Nalgene bottle like it's my job. It'll be worth it if I can avoid more problems but it's hard to be a teacher drinking this much water because bathroom breaks are so limited.
Also lots of Oikos Zero greek yogurt and oatmeal with cinnamon+sugar. Ginger ale and Cadbury Mini Eggs are my guilty pleasure, but that's not really a new pregnancy thing, lol.

I see a lot of you guys talking about wanting to eat 'low carb' while pregnant and I can't help but wonder why? Our bodies naturally crave carbs in pregnancy because they are an easy way to get lots of calories and we are GROWING HUMANS for pete's sake! Listen to your body and eat what it is telling you to eat!

I use this spiralizer:

I also have this cookbook, which has a ton of easy and tasty recipes in it. There is also a turkey bolignese sauce for zodles in it that uses carrots and celery that I just made last week. So bomb:
