Does anyone sell baby clothes online? (mostly referring to various facebook buy/sell/trade groups... though not necessarily limited to...)
I was part of a B/S/T group but it has since died down so much I doubt I'll be successful. I've started going through DS' old clothes since we're expecting a girl but I'd rather list things where I have a good chance of selling. It's a lot of Carters and similar priced brands.
Suggestions??

I will put in yet another plug for setting a different threshold for randoms vs. main board. It's all subjective, but I think my threshold is in a very different place than the norm for this board. I rarely look at the randoms because the thread gets so long so fast and then there are basically 5+ simultaneous conversations going on in there but when I do pop in to the randoms I sometimes find a super important issue that I know something about that I think could absolutely deserve its own thread. One that comes to mind recently was the discussion about biking and running with a baby. I was looking on my phone so I wasn't logged in and never returned to the topic, but to me this seemed more relevant than "random." (After all, a bunch of people did pipe in at the time.)
If the randoms thread is overflowing and people are overwhelmed by it yet the main board has very few unique posts, I say why not declutter the randoms and clutter up the board a bit. Moreover, as the OP pointed out, the search function works for main posts and not for things that mentioned within a thread (right?)
I have no idea where to sell used baby clothes other than B/S/T groups on FB.

If you lurk on other boards, they seem so cluttered. I love how organized ours is. Plus we've discussed that a topic that MANY people would comment on is perfectly acceptable to start its own thread, like the GD thread or the NICU thread or general questions like Baby Gear, Breastfeeding, Hospital Bags, Carseat Configuration. This question in itself would have been acceptable in the "baby gear" thread if you don't want it lost amongst the randoms.
But a topic that maybe less than 5 people would comment on seems like an unnecessary separate thread that's just going to clutter the board.

There's a happy balance we can find here: be brave enough to start a thread when the topic warrants it but don't go overboard.

@PartiallyDomesticated Common sense would dictate that ............ but as you can see, I wasn't asking for local b/s/t. I was asking for suggestions on just b/s/t groups. I am currently part of one ("Boys Only Brand Name Resale") on facebook and I've purchased from people all across the country. Normally I would recommend this one, and I kind of still do because there's still frequent listings, but I've noticed a sudden decrease in activity... not good if you're trying to sell. I've saved hundreds shopping via that group though. Just an FYI
@BeachMommy2B see above, wasn't asking for geographically specific b/s/t. (P.S. Wasn't a GBCB)
Also to chime in to the new topic of pros/cons to random.... Random threads, IMO, are conducive to people who have the ability to frequent the board throughout the day. It's not as convenient for people who might only have time to check in once a day (especially if it's like me, at bedtime, when the conversations are wrapping up). This board in particular has this look of minimal activity because of the lack of original threads.
Solid point btw @BabyMC517. I agree, I don't "like" posts here. For some reason I've stopped bothering with "liking" posts... I generally don't notice them on my own posts so just stopped giving it much consideration, but i'm sure I'm in the minority there.
