Pain back days after egg retrieval

my ER was Tuesday and I had pain that day and mild discomfort on Wednesday in the uterus / ovary areas. Thursday was pain free but tonight the achy cramps pain is back with a vengeance. I just took a Percocet so hopefully that helps. Should I be concerned about this? Is this a sign of OHSS or just maybe I did too much today?

  • Hi, hope you're feeling better.  It's worth mentioning to your dr.  If it's OHSS you will have lots of bloating and fluid retention.  Make sure you are drinking fluids and urinating a lot to rid the fluids.  I had mild OHSS and that was important.  Eating egg whites also helps, but I'm not sure if that's what you have.

  • Thanks. I was diagnosed with moderate OHSS. Luckily we froze everything so no more hormones so I'm getting better. I had to give up eating for a few days since I had like no room and every time I ate I felt nauseous and terrible. I'm back to eating today but small plates. I feel like I've drunk 20,000 calories in Gaterade lol
  • I'm glad you're feeling better...I am still drinking gatorade! lol

  • @Ash_SE - the night I started to feel better was the worst for me (around days 5-7 after ER). It was awful, and then it started to get better really quickly afterwards. I also ended up with OHSS and freeze-all cycle.
My RE prescribed me percocet after the most intense night of pain, but I never ended up taking it, as the pain didn't come back :)
Drink lots of fluids, and eat some salty snacks.
