Since it has been a little quieter this weekend I thought maybe we are due for a GTKY

Let's talk about our SOs...
How did you meet?
How long have you been together?
What is something you love about your SO?
What is something your SO does that drives you crazy?
Re: GTKY: SO
How long have you been together? We have been together for 15 years and married for almost 12.
What is something you love about your SO? He is always my rock. I am a worrier and always is just able to calm me down.
What is something your SO does that drives you crazy? His laundry habits. He does not have the ability to put laundry in the dirty close basket and after it is all clean he never puts it away. If I didn't put it away it would just sit in the clean clothes basket until he was ready to wear it.
How long have you been together? We started dating in 2007 and got married in 2010.
What is something you love about your SO? He is the yin to my yang, so to speak. He's cautious and thoughtful, I'm impulsive. He's a saver, I'm a spender. He's a science nerd, I'm a numbers nerd. And so on.
He always puts our family first and I love him for it.
We're both home bodies so I also love that he doesn't drag me out all the time. Ha!
What is something your SO does that drives you crazy? He puts empty containers back in the fridge/cabinet. I asked him once why he does it and even pointed out that it takes more effort to put the container back than it does to throw it away. His response: "But that would ruin the surprise!"

We both worked at Sonic.
How long have you been together?
We've known each other for 6 years, dating 2.5, married 1.5. Things moved very quick for us once we started dating, before that though we both thought that we'd never be the other persons type, haha. And granted, had we started dating any sooner than we did, it really wouldn't have worked out. DH changed so much after 3 years of college, so the timing was truly perfect.
What is something you love about your SO?
He doesn't give a shit what other people think. He does what he wants to, and doesn't let anyone stop him.
What is something your SO does that drives you crazy?
He will completely zone out and not listen to anything I'm saying. Then again I do the same thing to him sometimes...lol
DS2 due 12/12/18
How long have you been together? We've been together for 10 years, married for 6.
What is something you love about your SO? I love how motivated he is. Things will never be boring with him.
What is something your SO does that drives you crazy? He never puts his dirty laundry in the laundry basket. It drives me crazy!
We met on a dating site. lol I signed up to appease my mom who met my step father through the same site.
How long have you been together?
We had our first date January 2008, were engaged by April 2008, and married July 4th of 2009.
What is something you love about your SO?
I love so much about him but I think one of the biggest things is his ability to make me laugh. He is able to turn my mood around even on my hardest day. He's a wonderful man!
What is something your SO does that drives you crazy?
I do all the cleaning in the house but he leaves things around (clothes and dishes). With a 2 year old running around, it's tough enough to keep things picked up. I wish he'd help me out a little.
How did you meet? Swim team at Michigan State. He was a junior (captain) and I was a freshman (not really good enough to be on the team, but they didn't cut girls at the time). We went on a team run together, flirted, then went on a haunted hayride for one of our first dates.
How long have you been together? Long story but the better part of 16 years already? Jeez. Married almost 11 years--we had two kids plus one on the way when we tied the knot. So I was a prego bride but it was with our third child, lol.
What is something you love about your SO? He's a nerd but somehow also hot and funny.
What is something your SO does that drives you crazy? His farts can clear a room like no other person I know.
George (3)
We met in college, but went our separate ways. We both had some growing up to do, so it was good that we didn't get together in college. It wouldn't have worked. Ha.
How long have you been together?
Married for 2 years, together for a little over 3
What is something you love about your SO?
She isn't afraid to tell it like it is. If I'm being crazy, she will straight up tell me to calm down. I need that in my life!
What is something your SO does that drives you crazy?
Complains about house chores not being done, but then doesn't do them. We both work, so no reason for one person to do more than the other, right?!
We met online. He was in the process of moving from Arkansas to Chicago and was looking at profiles and found mine. We started talking and actually spoke to me like a person, which just about anyone who's done online dating can agree is rare. A friend of mine was having a party at a public place, so I invited him to come once he was settled in town. We hit it off immediately, and our first date was the next day.
How long have you been together?
It'll be four years together this August, married for a year in September.
What is something you love about your SO?
He is a very caring man, and he takes care of me as best he can. I, of course, do my best to take care of him, too.
What is something your SO does that drives you crazy?
I love him to bits, but oh dear god if he doesn't start doing some things around the house, I'm going to kick him. He has really bad ADD, which is unmedicated, so he sometimes just doesn't realize that something has to be done. I, on the other hand, have anxiety, which gets aggravated when my house is messy (especially lately). There isn't much in my life that I can control at the moment, but the state of my house is one of those things, so I actually had a panic attack about this the other night because he just. wouldn't. help.

How long have you been together? Dating almost 10 years, married 2 years
What is something you love about your SO? He is so sweet and caring! I have no idea what I would have done without him when our son was born, he took care of so many things and recognized when I needed a break and some alone time (I had trouble breastfeeding in the beginning and all those crazy hormones didn't help!).
What is something your SO does that drives you crazy? He's gotten into this bad habit of telling me that he has so many things on his mind for work that he doesn't have room to remember anything else (like remembering if we have weekend plans). Don't get me wrong, he does work very hard but somehow I'm expected to remember everything about our son and what we've got going on even though I have a full time job as well. As you can see this is very bothersome to me, but I've recently addressed this situation so it should change (I hope!)
How long have you been together? 7 years at the end of this month, I think? It's April or May. I'm pretty sure April though. I'm such a bad girlfriend because I don't remember the month we started dating- let alone the exact date- like many other gf's do.
What is something you love about your SO? He's a good person. He genuinely cares about other people, about doing the right thing, and helping anyone he can. He takes very good care of "my" cat (a cat that I kind of brought home 3 years ago against his wishes). The have a strong bond and he is secretly a sucker for her. We are also total opposites in many ways. We keep each other grounded or lift each other up as needed- it kind of happens naturally.
What is something your SO does that drives you crazy? He doesn't enjoy food. It's really the only thing we've ever (and always) bickered about. Back to being opposites- I LOVE food. I love to grow food, and cook it, and eat it. Food is my life. He eats from necessity. So he doesn't die, and he rarely ever enjoys a meal. He dislikes everything about eating. I try not to take it personally (especially after years of dating. He clearly has some personal issues related to food), but I would like to get more appreciation for always cooking, attempting to meal plan, and generally feeding us so that we don't perish. I enjoy the food I cook, other people I've cooked for have always complimented my cooking, so I know I can cook. Lol.

How did you meet?
We met at a bar, haha. We were both musicians at the time and I was opening for his band. He bought me a drink afterwards and we had a really great conversation. We went out the following Monday, then like three more times that week and we've been together every since.
How long have you been together?
Since July of 2008! So, wow, that'll be ten years in 2018! Crazy! We've been married for four. (Just celebrated our 4 year anniversary in late March.)
What is something you love about your SO?
He's an incredibly gentle, kind and curious person and I love all of that, but more than anything I admire how open and authentic he is. He's always 100% himself and never afraid to share what he's thinking or feeling, even if it's something vulnerable or unpopular. I'm much more guarded.
What is something your SO does that drives you crazy?
He needs a lot of conversation and praise, because he had really emotionally unavailable parents. I'm usually happy to give that to him, but with a LO and a full time job, it can be exhausting sometimes. But I feel bad because of course he deserves praise (cause he's an amazing husband and dad) and conversation (duh) but when I get tired I just want to be quiet and alone. He's the opposite! Lol.
@dreamscapes_ - I've wondered that too, but I'm also not a doctor. One of my sisters is in a relationship with someone who had an eating disorder- to the point of hospitalization. I've asked her about that at times, and trying to draw comparisons. Obviously it's an issue that can only be decided & diagnosed by my SO and his doctor. I don't know if I have a favorite thing to make, but I do like to make sauces: cheese based (mac & cheese or alfredo), red/spaghetti sauce, salsa... Once I made an enchilada sauce from rehydrated peppers. That was fun. I like soups too, for the convenience. It's mostly boiling things in pots of water or broth. Lol. I've been trying to bake more from scratch too, but I really only do that during holidays, so I don't have much practice. Things like pie crust, quick breads, and cake (which is so hard for my to get right without it drying out- box mixes are still my friend)
I've cautiously brought up his eating habits before and either he doesn't see it as a problem or he is witholding some feelings/knowledge. We are making progress over time. He is a lot more vocal about telling me types of food he prefers (poultry or red meat, soup or salad, pasta or rice, etc). Baby steps!
