I just saw the new 'Beauty and the Beast'. I had mixed feelings. The cartoon was a staple for me growing up (I answered the phone 'Bonjour' for way too long) and Emma Watson just didn't do it for me. There were also a few other things that I would have done differently, but Gaston was great.
I'm currently rewatching 'The Birdcage.' It's one of my favorites, even though watching it makes me miss Robin Williams. Agador Spartacus may just be one of my favorite movie characters of all time.
Me: 28 DH: 29 Married: 6/2016 TTC #1: 12/2016 Benched due to deployment- Off the bench 8/8/17!
Last movie in the theater: Arrival (it was good, but I was not emotionally prepared for one of the major plot points, so it was a bit of a bust of a date night pick by DH)
Last movie I watched: Ponyo, my toddler's current favorite movie
Movies I can watch over and over: Dirty Dancing, First Wives Club, 9-5, Steel Magnolias, Operation Petticoat
@jsnakehole I have such mixed feelings about the new Beauty and the Beast, I haven't seen it yet, but I'm not totally sold on this whole live action remake thing.
DS1: Nov. 2013 DS2: Jan. 2016 DS3: Dec. 2017 Baby #4 on the way!
Last movie in theater: Whatever the last Star Wars was before Rogue One... clearly I really enjoyed it haha. DH made me go and he also hated it, we both regretted it lol
Last movie I watched: Focus, it was actually pretty good! Helps that Will Smith is smokin hot!
Movies I can watch over and over: any Disney or Romantic Comedy, like maid in manhattan or how to lose a guy in 10 days, or the wedding planner!
@KatieEl I'm with you on the live action thing! I'd rather see live movies made into cartoons!!
I saw Beauty and the Beast in theaters about two weeks ago.
I'm currently watching Fences since we finally found it on Redbox.
I mentioned this one in a daily thread once but 10 Things I Hate About You is one of my faves. Others I've watched a ton are John Tucker Must Die, 27 Dresses, and Because I Said So. I went through phases with each of those movies where I watched them all the time!
@KatieEl Steel Magnolias is one of my favorite movies of all time. I must have said "Pink is my signature color" about a dozen times when I was picking things out for my wedding. That's also the movie that cemented my love of Dolly Parton.
First Wives Club and Dirty Dancing are also favorites. I may or may not have swiped my V-Card while watching Dirty Dancing.
I have...eclectic taste in movies. The ones I find myself putting on most frequently lately are Jurassic Park, Jurassic World, Zero Dark Thirty, The Normal Heart, and The Magnificent Seven (yes, my love of Chris Pratt contributes to some of these choices).
Me: 28 DH: 29 Married: 6/2016 TTC #1: 12/2016 Benched due to deployment- Off the bench 8/8/17!
Last movie in theater: Beauty and the Beast! I enjoyed it overall, though the animated one will always be first in my heart! Also my apparently UO is that the Beast's new song was truly terrible.
Last movie I watched: DH and I watched Moonlight last weekend...I feel like we then watched something else the next day but I'm not remembering it now.
Movies I can watch over and over again: Willy Wonka and the Chocolate Factory, Nightmare Before Christmas, Trainspotting, Singin' in the Rain, Desk Set...
Last movie in theater: I actually went to a documentary film festival the first weekend in March and saw 10 docs over one evening and two days. The last one was called Step about a step team at a Baltimore all-girls charter school. It was fantastic. It will come out in August and I totally recommend it.
Last movie watched: Ice Girls on Netflix. I like to watch cheesy high school type movies when I'm home sick from work. This movie featured Elvis Stojko and way too many plots to adequately tie up, but it was perf.
Old favorites: joining the Dirty Dancing club for sure. One time in 2006ish I was watching Dirty Dancing with my sister and after the beginning and I said jokingly, "I want everyone to call me Baby this summer." And my sister has called me Baby ever since. Also love any of the brat pack movies.
Ones you can rewatch over and over: The Pride and Prejudice BBC miniseries, Catch Me if You Can, Bridesmaids, He's Just Not That Into You, She's the Man. I'd rewatch most things, I love movies.

The last movie I watched in theatre was Rogue One.
The last movie I watched was You've Got Mail, which happens to be one that I could rewatch for days.
Besides You've got Mail, I love rewatching Disney movies from my childhood - BATB being my favorite. I also rewatch Revenge of the Bridesmaids, Remember the Titans, Bridget Jones's Diary, The Princess Bride, Pitch Perfect, and Mrs. Doubtfire.
I love Dirty Dancing, but it was one of my mom's all-time favorite movies and it is so hard for me to watch now without bawling. Same goes for Dancing with Wolves and Pure Country.
On a different note, there's a movie I watched awhile back that is still on Netflix called Big Eyes about Margaret Keane that was surprisingly good!

Last movie in theater: My husband and I impulsively saw The Red Turtle in the theater last month sometime. We'd never heard of it, but noticed it was produced by Studio Ghibli. We love animated films, so. It was really good!
Last movie watched: We watched Moonlight on iTunes the other night, which was so beautiful. Definitely wept.
Old favorites: I love movies! But I don't know if I pick favorites. The last time I remember declaring favs was on MySpace in art school... ten years ago... and I picked The Red Balloon, Dead Man, Kurosawa's Dreams, and Life is Beautiful, maybe? I've seen a lot of good movies since then.
Ones you can rewatch over and over: I don't rewatch a lot of movies, I guess. Occasionally I'll watch something I've seen before if my husband hasn't and I remember liking it. But I've definitely seen Totoro a few times (see: Studio Ghibli) – anytime I meet a new kid, I can't wait to show them. I was obsessed with the Princess Bride and Labyrinth when I was little and have probably seen each x 100, but I'm not dying to watch them again.
@morado23, I forgot about Bridget Jones! That's definitely one where I will watch it any time it's on TV. It used to be my go to "post-break up" movie along with Sense & Sensibility...(Because both movies feature someone suffering at the hands of a cad, of course!)
Last one in theaters: like @morado23 & @redpuma119 Rouge One, but going to see BATB tomorrow
last watched: last night actually, we watched Star Trek Beyond. It was meh. DH actually laughed out loud at it, and not at the built in "jokes"
Old Favorites: The Goonies, The Breakfast Club, Ferris Bueller's Day Off, Back to the Future, The Princess Bride (clearly a child of the 80s here)
Watch Over and Over: Spy- it is just so ridiculous and I laugh every time. Jason Statham's over the top explanations of things he has done as a spy and the mocking of the genre get me every time. I also laugh so hard I cry at Crazy, Stupid, Love. I'm with everyone on 10 things I hate about you.
At at this point in my life and with what I do all day I prefer to watch comedies, sci-fi or action movies. I want escapist entertainment. Though I don't mind a really great drama once in a while I do try to avoid films I know will make me weep, though there are some that I love. (Looking at you Big Fish)
@Augusta108 are you going to see T2? I really want to rewatch Trainspotting before I see the sequel. I'll be interested to see how I feel about the original at such a different place in my life. Also, I love Singin in the Rain.
@jsnakehole did your love of Chris Pratt also inspire your user name?

@Avrilmai, I want to see T2 so badly, but it looks like it may not play anywhere nearby. I'm really hoping the local art theater gets it eventually. Besides my love for the original, they were filming for it in Edinburgh during our honeymoon there, so that's an extra reason to want to see it!
I love Big Fish too. I was a huge Ewan McGregor fan when I was younger and used to see everything he was in!
@Avrilmai Maybe a little. I've used some variation of Janet Snakehole as my username for most things over the past few years. It was even my username on OkCupid when I met DH. And was Janet Snakehole for Halloween two years ago.

Over and Over: I love watching movies over and over, so just about anything from the 80s or 90s. Father of the Bride, Runaway Bride, Batman, Die Hard, Hook, Mrs Doubtfire, Clue...the list goes on and on.
@orbmaker I have heard Red Turtle is really good, but we haven't had the chance to see it yet. It is cool that you found it in a theater.
@Augusta108 it looks pretty cool, I'm just not as creeped out. Probably because the monster turns into what you're afraid of and I'm an adult now, so what is it going to turn into? My boss? Tax forms?
