Trying to Get Pregnant

Benched/TTA Check-In 3/27/17

***Please notice ***

This thread is for those who have started TTC but are now TTA or Benched.
If you have BOTB, please consider participating on that board and/or creating a separate BOTB-check-in.
While we value all members of the community and enjoy helping others learn before they're TTGP, recent discussions have shown that the influx of BOTB-members posting on this thread have driven out the members for whom the thread is actually intended.
Please respect that development.

***General TW that this thread can and will mention MC and loss.***

This is a place for those of us who have already started TTC, but have hit a roadblock and are delaying for whatever reason. You can express your thoughts, feelings, and frustrations on not TTC and connect with others who are in the same boat. TTC can be a long journey, and having to wait makes it feel even longer -- even if it is for a good reason. I invite you to resurrect this thread at any point in the week if you have something to say. Treat this like an ongoing conversation.

Benched = involuntarily not NTNP/TTC and "out of the game," usually due to medical reasons
TTA = avoiding pregnancy by using protection or FAM, usually for non-health-related reasons __________________________________________________________________

Are you benched or TTA?

How long do you think you'll be here?

How have things been going?

Any R/R/CS/Q?

@purplg8r SOOO so so glad to hear that your levels are finally so close to zero! What a relief. Now the stupid methotrexate countdown begins...

    Are you benched or TTA?

Currently TTA. I would like to wait until we do some testing (appointment 4/21) before we jump back in the saddle. But the TTC part of me is having a really hard time trying to not pay attention to my body. It's so difficult to actively NOT TTC since it's been the primary focus since August.

    What brings you here?
MC a few weeks ago and another in November. We're going to do a RPL in April so just waiting for that to hopefully identify something that is fixable.

How long do you think you'll be here?
No idea. Depends on my resolve to wait out testing (bc every month that passes feels like an eternity) and the results of the testing.

    How have things been going?
Slowly but surely I am feeling better. It was dark and twisty for a solid 10 or so days, but I am just trying to focus on what I have in the here and now.

    Any R/R/CS/Q?
Anyone have any good EASY to start with workouts from home they like? I need to start taking better care of myself, but I am currently way too out of shape to start anything like Insanity or 30 day shred, which used to be two of my go-tos once upon a time lol.

GTKY: If you could only eat one thing for breakfast for the rest of your life, what would it be?

Breakfast food is my ultimate favorite so this is a hard one. I am going to cheat and say a skillet since it has all of my favorites - sausage, veggies, eggs, hashbrowns and cheese!

What brings you here? We're waiting to learn more about DH's diagnosis and our options

How long do you think you'll be here? We have an appointment with specialists next month. Ultimately, I have no idea how long I'll be benched, but I think it's going to be for at least a few months.

How have things been going? It was a relief to finally have a diagnosis for DH, but it's still been a hard pill to swallow. He had another test to check for sperm and it was another -0- count, so we know for sure that his condition means that our only hope is that there are swimmers inside.

    Any R/R/CS/Q?
@flowerpower5838 - I have the Sworkit app on my phone and I love it! It's free (but they do have paid workouts) and it gets me motivated to do short exercises in the time limit that I have available.

GTKY: If you could only eat one thing for breakfast for the rest of your life, what would it be? Waffles. So many waffles!

What brings you here? MC back in Sept and then life

How long do you think you'll be here? I'm supposed to get my period any day now (this cycle was stoopid wonky so who knows) and we'll wait that cycle out, and then the next one we'll start trying. So May, ish.

How have things been going? Fine. My cycle was ridic this month. I haven't been full on temping/charting since the MC, but I've been doing enough. Literally my cycle this month was: 5 days of period, 2 days of spotting, 3 days of nothing, then 10 days of spotting + EWCM in a row, then 8 days of nothing, and finally today: more spotting. FML.

    Any R/R/CS/Q? No

GTKY: If you could only eat one thing for breakfast for the rest of your life, what would it be? Right now I've been doing smoothie bowls, but honestly nothing panics me more than the thought of having to eat the same thing for breakfast everyday for the rest of my life. I get obsessed with breakfast foods and then never want to eat them again. In case you're curious, this is my smoothie recipe (I don't measure so... whoops):

-mostly frozen strawberries, maybe like 1.5 cups? IDK
    -like 5 frozen sweet cherries
    -1/3 of a frozen banana
-enough Califia coconut almond milk to ensure the blender works, but not so much it's thin
    -homemade vanilla extract
-a couple spoonfuls of plain greek yogurt
-sometimes I add some almond butter

I top it with raspberries, slice strawberries, chia seeds, almond slices and hemp seeds.
  • That sounds sooo delicious, @doxiemoxie212. I'm going to try that this weekend! I hope your cycle gets back on track soon.
