  • @kvacmak I will tell you right now, this GTKY has been done recently, it didn't go over well with several ladies then and it probably won't go over great this time either

  • @kiwi2628 I changed the GTKY while you were commenting per @lulu1180's recommendation so I'm not sure if you want to edit yours to suit?

    CD / DPO: 25/11

    Timing: -2, -1, 0, +1

    Testing: just waiting for AF

Rant / Rave: We're supposed to get 3-6 inches of snow today and tomorrow. What the helllllll.

    CS / Q: --

GTKY: what is one thing you CAN NOT sleep without?

The sound of a fan! An actual fan is best, but I get so dried out in the winter that I use a white noise app on my phone (on the fan setting, obvi) instead. I literally cannot sleep if it's quiet in the room.

@kvacmak a blanket over your head, really?! I'd suffocate!
@kiwi2628 chapstick is a good one, that's always on my nightstand, too.

CD / DPO: 22/ 2ish (might be 3 FF and I are not friends this month)

    Timing: -5, -3, -1, +1

Testing: Going to try really hard to hold out until 12dpo. I don't have any tests in the house so that should help, plus OB put me on progesterone after O so I'm having less anxiety about needing to get in as early as possible for b/w.

    Rant / Rave: It's FriYAY!

    CS / Q: Nothing today

Testing: Going to see my family in Texas over Easter without DH. I wanted to wait until AF is late but AF is due the second day I’m there so I may test early (12th, 2 days early) just to be able to celebrate if it’s good news.

Rant / Rave: Going to have a girl’s day with my DH’s friends who I now hang out with more. We are going to see Beauty and the Beast finally! Other than that, I am feeling super overwhelmed with all the things I need to do but have no motivation to do.

    CS / Q: Nah

GTKY: What is one thing you CAN NOT sleep without? My DH… mainly because sleeping alone in my house scares me.

@kvacmak – guilty of the EDD thing. I actually have an excel file that has information for the next year. For planning purposes of course…

@kiwi2628 – sorry for impending AF!

  • @morado23 I'm trying not to stress too much about it. I knew it was a risk to temp this month because I knew that I would have some really wonky temps during the convention. My temps keep looking more and more what they usually look like after O though so that's good.

@kvacmak Glad your Friday is off to a good start! DH's response to your EDD discovery is too funny!
@kiwi2628 Good Luck at your appointment!
@kmalls UGH!! Snow!! WTH Mother Nature??? Stay warm!
@KariAnn323 GL with holding out on the testing. You can do it!
@justkeepswimming8 Enjoy your girls day! Try not to think of the things that are overwhelming you (easier said than done I know!)
@morado23 I got a sleep mask with my VS Christmas PJ's. I loved it! But it would irritate behind my ears a bit. I woke up a few nights ago and saw DH wearing it :D
     @hoosiermama1 Sorry for CD 1!
@Tennis11785 Rain rain go away! We've got it all day here too :(
    @elisek-2 enjoy your Friday night!

    Month/Cycle: I think I am 5/5...yesterday I changed it to 4/5. I'm certain on the cycle #

    CD / DPO: 20/5

    Timing: -4, -3, -1, O

Testing: we are leaving on a week long trip down south to visit my sister on 4/12, which should be CD 2 so maybe on 4/10 so I can pack accordingly...unless I start with the spotting 5 days in advance like I did last cycle

Rant / Rave: You guys! I have been having bouts of severe acid reflux a few times a week since November. I was either just putting up with it or taking Pepcid AC. But on Monday, I decided to start adding 2 tablespoons of Apple Cider Vinegar to my water 3 times a day and I have not had reflux once this week!! And my skin looks better too. I knew ACV can help with a lot of internal issues but I don't know why I didn't try it sooner!

CS / Q: Nope, got an answer to my Q yesterday. Thanks @lulu1180!

GTKY: what is one thing you CAN NOT sleep without? Socks! I have to have to have to have socks on! At least until summer weather, but almost year round I have to sleep in socks.

I probably won't check in this weekend
so I hope all you ladies have a great one! :)

Rant / Rave: I cannot seem to get my crap together to eat right and it makes me so mad at myself. I know my diet needs to improve but mentally I just can't seem to get a grip like I've been able to do in the past.

    CS / Q:

GTKY: what is one thing you CAN NOT sleep without? A fan! I need the noise and I need the air on my face. I've even started bringing it with me when we travel (it's a small fan I keep on my nightstand).
  • Month/Cycle: 4/2

    CD / DPO:  28/11

    Timing: -4, -2, -1, 0

Testing: waiting until I get home from a field trip on Sunday if AF doesn't show first.

Rant / Rave: Rave! My kids are being angels and so far it's been very smooth and beneficial. Not sure if it's a rant or a rave but I don't feel great today. My back is killing me and my lady parts feel weird and mildly uncomfortable today. It's probably impending AF but of course I am hopeful that it indicates something else. Back pain could be due to all of the sitting that is unusual for me and the terrible cot that I slept on last night. Ugh, I want it to be Sunday to know what's going on.

CS / Q: temp is still way up but I'm trying not to be excited because I feel like AF is on the way.

GTKY: what is one thing you CAN NOT sleep without?
I need a nice firm pillow and a medium/light blanket -- quilts are my favorite.

    @hoosiermama1 sorry about CD1 :(
@KariAnn323 glad your temps ar evening out for you. Yay for Friday!
@morado23 props to you for managing to work nights. I tried it briefly between college and my teaching job and I COULD NOT adjust. I was very unhappy and I feel like it takes a lot of discipline. Sorry you're not happy with timing this month :(
@justkeepswimming8 how nice that you and DH share friends! I'm sure that makes all gatherings a lot more entertaining. Enjoy Beauty and the Beast- I loved it (though truthfully the animated version will always be my favorite)

  • @justkeepswimming8 I absolutely second the ACV for acid reflux! H used to take a Prilosec until I did more reading about long term usage and dementia. He takes 2 ACV supplements twice per day and hasn't had any issues in nearly a year. It's awesome!

  • @justkeepswimming8 I absolutely get reflux based on my weight. Not a problem at all when it's lower but as soon as I pass a certain weight it comes on. I was recommended ACV as a natural alternative because like @CandyApple2012 the side effects of prescription and OTC pills are awful. I wasn't taking Prilosec but some other prescription and the side effects were similar to brittle bone disease!

@kvacmak Those calculators are dangerous! FX for you :)
    @kiwi2628 GL at the RE
@morado23 Yeah I am super curious too but also a bit afraid to ask...
    Sorry for CD1 @hoosiermama
@elisek-2 I'm a bad sleeper too, it sucks. I've slowly weened myself off of medications but I still occasionally take a benadryl if I've had multiple bad nights in a row and am not close to O'ing.
@SoldiersMom I have heard such great things about ACV but can't bring myself to get it down by itself on a regular basis. Also it's a great addition to homemade salad dressing.

    Month/Cycle: 12/maybe 11
    CD / DPO: 42/6
    Timing: good
Testing: maybe once I hit double digits but not super hopeful
Rant / Rave: After months of heavy rain it is finally springtime here and will be in the 70s all weekend. I'm psyched. MH and I are going to do a long hike we haven't done for a couple years and then go to this mildly fancy lunch place we've been hearing about on Sunday.
    CS / Q: Nah
GTKY: I need the sound of a fan if it's too cold just like you @kmalls. But will turn the fan toward me in summer for circulation and air on my face like @gusgus14. So I mentioned this once to a good friend of mine who is Korean and he told me that among Koreans there is an urban myth about running a fan in a closed room all night  leading to something called "fan death". In case you haven't heard of it: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Fan_death

Rant / Rave: it's Friday!  Looking forward to a lazy weekend at home with DH.

    CS / Q:

GTKY: what is one thing you CAN NOT sleep without? My eye mask. Like @morado23 said, it's a real game changer.

@kvacmak Yay for a good night's sleep and high temps! Count me guilty as charged for the EDD calculator.

@KariAnn323 FF got my O date wrong this cycle as well. I'm glad you were able to get on progesterone to ease your anxiety. And kudos to you on not keeping tests in the house!

@justkeepswimming8 I get spooked when I'm in an empty house without DH at night too. I do not, however, miss his snoring! Enjoy your girls day.

@elisek-2 Enjoy your dinner and friend time!

@SoldiersMom ooh, I'll have to try your ACV trick. I have the worst reflux- even a single cup of coffee causes it to act up terribly.

@gusgus14 I'm sorry you are struggling with your diet- try not to be too hard on yourself. Btw, I'm not sure if it's a reference to it or not but your username makes me think of Cinderella and it makes me smile.

@CandyApple2012 I'm glad your kids are behaving. FX your symptoms are indicative of something good!
  • Work blew up yesterday and I didn't get a chance to come back until late last night and then the app was having issues. Sorry I basically P&G yesterday.

@KariAnn323 I was thinking about you yesterday. How was the convention? If I completely missed your recap of it I apologize.
@kmalls  Snow!?! wow GL out there
@Tennis11785 I used to have to have the TV on to fall asleep, and it had to be something I actually wanted to watch, not just the weather channel. But DH likes it dark to fall asleep, so I gave up my TV before bed.
@morado23 I never wake up with my sleep mask on, so I just gave up on it!
@justkeepswimming8 Have fun at your girl's day. I'm hoping to see BATB this weekend.
    @elisek-2 enjoy your friday night!
@SoldiersMom hope you have a great weekend too
@gusgus14 don't beat yourself up, changing your diet is a lifestyle change and it takes time and practice. You'll get there
    @CandyApple2012 FX for you!
@vflux33 your hike sounds wonderful. Have a great time.
@magnolia131 I swear you and I are on the same time schedule. I feel like we post around the same time every day and I almost always miss you! I double checked today because I had a feeling you had posted. Have a great weekend. Hope that dryer is fixed.

    Month/Cycle: 5/6

    CD / DPO: 18/9

    Timing: just okay

    Testing: nope

Rant / Rave: we were planning a trip for the end of May and DH just found out he can't get that time off. So now it is pushed into June and we're running in to all kinds of conflicts. I'm starting to think it is just not going to happen. We're trying to work around the work schedules of 4 people. So, a little bummed about that. On the bright side I don't have to work this weekend so Saturday will be full of soccer and netflix and Sunday movie date. (we go to the early showing because it is cheaper and there are usually fewer people). So looking forward to some movie theater popcorn!

    CS / Q:

GTKY: what is one thing you CAN NOT sleep without? like @kiwi2628 chapstick/lip balm. I actually still have a tin of victoria's secret balmy nights...it is old, really old, and I probably shouldn't still be using it, but I don't care and  I save it for the worst winter nights.

  • @vflux33 - that is such a strange myth! I had never heard of it before.
@magnolia131 - thanks! I did really well last Spring/Summer and then I fell off the wagon and never got back on. And yes it is kind of! We named our cat Gus when he was a baby because he had the cutest belly like Gus Gus in Cinderella.
    @Avrilmai - thanks, I know you're right!

  • kvacmak lol.... ive looked at those calculators too!. Actually, my FF kinda has it always on display after O, I think but I try not to look at it :)
kiwi2628 ugh...hoping af stays away for you!
    kmalls SNOW!?! ugh I'd cry
KariAnn323    what kind of progesterone are you on? I'm doing suppositories.... blah!
justkeepswimming8   yay for the girls day!
morado23     I'm with you! I'd love to know! lolol
    hoosiermama1 ugh! Sorry for CD1 :(
Tennis11785   This spring rain has me so demotivated.... just wanna curl up and read a book :)
elisek-2      How long is your LP normally?
SoldiersMom  yup..... I don't get reflux much but when I do a lil acv (and reduction of acidic foods) and lots of alkaline water usually fixes me up. I've never taken any meds for it yet.
gusgus14     I'm a bit of a freak of nature when it comes to dietary adjustments... I'm usually pretty gung ho about any changes that make me feel better. But I also have a health coach  and I always recommend a health coach when not having success with stuff like this.... It can really be a big help for guidance and accountability.
CandyApple2012  really hoping you get that bfp! And how lovely that the kiddies are being good!
vflux33      I'm so jealous of your 70 degrees
magnolia131     quiet weekend over here too! its going to be cool and rainy, so just curling up and doing nothing :)
Avrilmai   Ugh! I hope you can work out your vaca!!!

CS / Q: nope..... I feel nothing and have no questions :/

GTKY: what is one thing you CAN NOT sleep without? I guess a cover.... heavy in winter light in summer.
  • @gusgus14 Isn't that weird? I didn't believe him-- when he told me I thought he was pulling my leg, but it is a real thing.
  • @vflux33 Your weekend sounds so peaceful and just perfect- enjoy!

@Avrilmai I really should be better be better about refreshing my browser before posting- it's good advice. That's a bummer about your trip. I'm a big planner and when things like that get changed it can be upsetting. I hope you guys are able to work something out.

@dragonette505 Enjoy your quiet weekend at home! The weather sounds perfect for it.
  • @dragonette505 - this is only my second cycle off BC and husband was laid up last month, so I didn't track much last cycle, but I think it's usually 14-15 days. I am not very knowledgable about FET details, but I hope it normalizes for you asap!
@Avrilmai - sorry about the trip, that sucks! I hope you have a great, restful weekend.
@magnolia131 - yay for lazy weekends!
@vflux33 - sounds like an awesome weekend, hope the weather holds :)
@CandyApple2012 - hooray for well-behaved kiddos! I feel my cramps in my back and it's no fun, FX your pain isn't AF-related!
@gusgus14 - ugh, I'm with you on not getting on a good eating track. I've been trying to focus on one change at a time, starting with prepping lunches ahead of time. I still drink too much soda and sometimes grab an extra unhealthy snack during lunch (I work right across from Target and it's a constant temptation). I hope you're able to figure out some changes that work for you!
@SoldiersMom - omg I cannot fall asleep in socks ever and even the thought of it makes me squirm lol! Why does AF always end up being on trips?? FX you don't end up having that to worry about.

    Timing: -1, O was what I thought...

Testing: I reeeeeally want to wait until the day AF is supposed to arrive but I know I won't be able to.  Tested this morning (waaaay early) with a BFN.

Rant / Rave: It is officially spring and we're under a Winter Storm Warning for 6-9" tonight  :s Hopefully it just means I can stay in tonight instead of going to the hockey game we have tickets to.

GTKY: what is one thing you CAN NOT sleep without? My cat.

    Month/Cycle: 5/5

    CD / DPO: 25/11

    Timing: -4, -2, twice on O

Testing: not unless af is late

GTKY: what is one thing you CAN NOT sleep without?  A blanket.
  • Dude. You guys. So my back pain got much worse as the morning progressed and I realized that my left kidney was tender and throbbing. After trying to lay down, take tylonal, drink lots of water, I ultimately made the decision to be seen at a hospital because I have a pretty traumatic history of kidney infections (8 years ago I spent a few days in the ICU because of my left kidney, so)... I left my 2 dozen high schoolers in the care of two trusted teacher friends and I'm waiting to be seen in triage.

I hate hospitals and this is NOT how I wanted to test. OMG. H is freaking out too, of course. FX that I'm out of here in a few hours and none of my kids tell their parents until I'm back! UGH! The timing!

  • OMG @CandyApple2012!! FX that everything works out ok, but you definitely made the right call by going to get checked out. I've had kidney infections before too and they are no joke. Good luck and feel better!

  • Well, it was negative. My heart hurts.

They hung a bag of fluids and I'm waiting on my blood tests to come back for white blood cells/infection. Today really, really sucks.

Thank you ladies for your thoughts and well wishes.

  • @ali_gator11 Sorry about the BFN. I get EWCM patches during long cycles so I feel you on the O confusion. I really didn't want to be a temp-er because of sleep issues, but I finally picked it up after many months of frustration because of it. Do you temp?

Wow @CandyApple2012 that sounds awful. I hope you feel better.
  • @CandyApple2012 I'm sorry for the BFN but I hope all of your other tests come back with better news. I hope you feel better and that you don't have to deal with any nonsense from your kids or their parents while you are dealing with this.
  • So sorry @CandyApple2012.  I hope you feel better soon.

  • Yeah, today sucks all around...

    Month/Cycle: NTNP

    CD / DPO: 25/10

    Timing: -3, +1

Testing: BFN today. Not surprised, and of course disappointed, but the plan was to officially start trying for a 2018 baby all along. We'll see what next month brings.

Rant / Rave: Spent most of the day on a plane. Left warmth and sun and came home to floods and seeing my breath in the air.

    CS / Q: Nope.

GTKY: what is one thing you CAN NOT sleep without? Laying on my stomach.

@CandyApple2012 I am so sorry for your horrible day. FX you get out there quickly!

@emcake Looks like our cycles are pretty similar! FX you get better news than I did. Hope you did something nice on your day off!

@ali_gator11 and @kmalls FX the snow stays away from you!

@elisek-2 TMI question you can ignore if you want, but this is my third cycle off of BCP (was on them for a year, before that had textbook cycles with all the CM stages) and now there is no EWCM. Has your experience been similar?

    @dragonette505 Hugs to you.

@Avrilmai FX the stars align and you get your vacation with the hubbs.

    @magnolia131 Enjoy your lazy weekend!

@vflux33 Your weekend ahead sounds lovely! Enjoy the sun!

@gusgus14 I am SO WITH YOU on the eating thing. The times in my life I have lost the most weight were times I wasn't even trying... student teaching, going through a divorce, the first few months in a new house... but whenever I try, the willpower is pathetic.

@SoldiersMom Jen Ross from PrettyNeatLiving on youtube swears by the apple cider vinegar shots! I'm so glad it's making you feel better!

@Tennis11785 Did the rain hold out and allow you to get to the game?

@morado23 Your "neverrrrrr" cracked me up!

@justkeepswimming8 You go get that +1 girl!

@KariAnn323 Glad to hear you got some peace of mind with the progesterone. One of the couples I subscribe to on YouTube did the same and it helped her!

@kvacmak I'm really glad to hear someone out there is having a good day! FX your weekend continues the same way!

  • @kmalls that sucks about the snow, and yes, I wrap my blanket up around my head but i keep my face uncovered, my hubs calls it my cocoon lol
@justkeepswimming8 I'm on the fence about Beauty and the Beast - you'll have to share how it is! Also, your timing! You go girl!
@morado23 I've heard sleep masks are the secret to night shifts, I should get one! The original GTKY was about picking a wild animal for a pet... apparently been done!
@Tennis11785 oh man how do you sleep with headphones in?? don't they get annoying?
@elisek-2 Yup that's how I wear my blanket too! It's the best. I feel so cozy!
@SoldiersMom It started off good... Then it went completely downhill from there, DS SCREAMED at dayhome drop off, like full red alert meltdown, and then work was a gongshow all. day. long. We could just not get caught up and we were all getting super bitchy and irritated, I'm so glad I don't work 12 hours anymore! That's awesome about the ACV though, I've heard really good things about it, but always wondered if it was one of those 'too good to be true' things, happy that it is true for you!
@CandyApple2012 Oh no! That's not a fun way to get a BFN. I'm so sorry you're going through that. kidney infections can get really dangerous so I'm glad you're getting medical attention. Fx you feel better soon! Keep us updated!
@vflux33 ya the calculators can get dangerous for sure, you can get so far down the rabbit hole like 'Okay so if I get KU next cycle the EDD will be this day, and if the cycle after that then it will be this day...' and on and on and onnnnn lol
@dragonette505 sorry your body isn't cooperating... Maybe it will just stay positive ;) Fx!
@ChristmasCookie sorry to disappoint but the day turned into an absolute nightmare lol. Work was awful. BUT I got to leave at 3 (the rest of my coworkers work 12 and had to stay til 7) and leave the gongshow behind! And DS was in a lovely mood when I picked him up from dayhome, and is not happily napping! So it's ending okay, I guess! lol
